Gin has arrived, I got the brass lion. Not heard of this brand before and it appears you can not buy it in the UK, so if we like it I'm not sure we can re buy it

I ordered 6 of the eBay outlet TD gloves and received 9! All creams/beige/blush/grey and even though 8 had star stickers on, I can’t find a single fault. They are all very slim fitting though but they’ll stretch a bit with wear, I hope.

I’ve had a dispatch email from Thrift this morning despite yesterday’s 5-7 day timeframe email so fingers crossed they are rattling through the orders now… (I really don’t want to be the duff recommender of 2022!!)

Like @Headabovetheparakeet I also think seeds would be good. Wildflower seed boxes are reasonably priced and could be split into tiny envelopes with pics/instructions and some info about bees. If you know any gardeners they may even be able to harvest you some wildflower seeds for free.

Re the turtle dove gloves, the site sell small packs of cashmere offcuts often, about £5 I think but I got some in one of their sales for £2.50. They are sold as a way of customising the gloves with flowers, initials etc, but they also say they can be used as a way of covering any holes. Might be useful for some of those pairs from ebay with small holes, that you can decorate to match the recipient's interest / colours and actually make it an even more impressive present. There were quite a few pieces of different colours in my bundle

My turtle doves arrived. 2 with a small round sticker but I can't see any faults. I have a striped pair I'm happy to swap and a green pair. I usually don't like grey but the grey are nice.

@BadgerFace I ordered some thrift+ bits... They haven't arrived, but even if only half is good and the rest needs to go back, it will still be a really good deal.

Is this a once a year thing they do, do you know? Or do they regularly have a sale clear out code? I've tried googling it but can't seem to find an answer.

@TwinsAndTiramisu this is the first time I’ve noticed a sale email so I’m not sure about frequency. Although the T&C of sending them clothes to sell say that they donate the clothes after X months so it would make sense if they did sales every X months before clearing out stock with charity donations. (I think X might be 6 but can’t remember off the top of my head!!)

The free Google nest offer is back on my John Lewis app, I don't think the offer is as good as last year, it's free if you spend over £100 on home, furniture and electricals - I think it was £100 on anything last year as I bought a scooter and a couple of other gifts I was buying anyway and got it for free. But worth looking out for on the app if you're shopping there anyway!

This isn't a Christmas bargain but clearly there are some gin fans on here. I bought this gin last Sunday at Carfest and have only got 1/4 of the bottle left. It's the finest gin I've had in my life, just perfection!

Yes, the sale finished midnight on Thursday. They sell factory seconds on eBay much cheaper - currently out of stock but they seem to refresh regularly. Not sure about sales at other times but certainly worth keeping an eye out around Black Friday.
