@newroundhere or this VW Campervan picnic blanket from the range

Isonthecase · 03/09/2022 20:33

@FilthyforFirth have you tried the main site? They have a size 5 ball and a few bits in the sale Inc wrapping paper. Pretty sure I've bought a le tis top from there before as a gift and it was decent quality. store.southamptonfc.com/sale/view-sale/

FilthyforFirth · 03/09/2022 20:41

Um thanks @MiltonRoad going to get that for DH as he is a massive Saint too!

I just got some pretty good bits in Smiggle. Packs of scented gel pens usually £7 per pack are 2 packs for £5. I also got a great journal making kit for £14 for my goddaughter and some other bits and pieces

My local Tesco had the smiggle range they stocked down to from £1 with a Clubcard. Large set £6. Complete bargain for the right age.

Christmasiscominghohoho · 03/09/2022 21:52

Well Iv had 1 box of 2 from turtle dove.

2 pairs seem to be slim fit. I didn’t think I had big hands but I couldn’t fit them on mine properly and the women I wanted to give them too are a few sizes bigger then me so even less chance of them fitting them.

I didn’t ask for slim fit either.

The other pair is yellow and have a tiny hole in but fit fine. The material isn’t as nice as the others though.

all 3 had a line through the turtle dove too.

The colour in cardboard playhouses are £10 down from £18 in Hobbycraft at the moment. Think they had a castle, train, camper van, ice cream shop etc. The elves usually bring one if we have a quiet weekend in December as keeps the DC occupied.

Link

Thank you for this as I missed out on them last year so have ordered one for my DC and one for my DB's children.

FilthyforFirth · 03/09/2022 23:00

Argos have got some decent things in their clearance section. This Zog Tonie is down to a tenner, which they rarely are! Annoyed the Winnie one was out of stock!

Wow thanks everyone, I wasn't expecting such a lot of responses!! School have a blanket no chocolate policy which is a pain because aldi sell packs of Christmas chocolate lollys which would be perfect!
I suggested seeds last year but it was voted against due to all parents not having access to soil etc (& eyfs potentially eating them!!). We individually wrap each one too so bookmarks may an issue as they get torn. I guess I'm looking for something they might actually use rather than something like from a cracker which is a moments joy then into landfill. I may be being a bit optimistic though with the tiny budget. I'll definitely have a look at Baker Ross and if anyone comes across anything else please let me know. Thanks again fellow Christmas loons 😍

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile I'm wondering if there might be a retailer that would do a large order of books, like The Works do the 10 for £10 offer, but cheaper? Must be a retailer who'd do an offer for such a large order?

Sorry not a Christmas gift as such but a gift for a just turned 13 yr old girl who was in a bad accident and is now recovering at home after being in ICU. Has broken arm so colouring out. Or shud i stick a wee message and amazon voucher in card

Depending on injuries/stitches etc some sort of toiletries/bath stuff set? I imagine she’d appreciate a bit of pampering.

Pumpkintopf · 04/09/2022 00:12

@newroundhere thanks so much for sharing that. Have been on the lookout for a picnic hamper and CK had a lovely one - and a great sale reduction too!

Pumpkintopf · 04/09/2022 00:27

@Willow4987 thank you! That diffuser will be perfect for my DD.

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile - I'm buying from here this year: www.cutpricewholesaler.com/seasonal/christmas/christmas-stationery-activity?disp_order=3.
I'm getting Xmas scratch art sets, colouring sets (with crayons) and stationary sets all under 50p/unit and diaries (for older children) which were a bit over 50p/unit - just remember to factor in delivery cost.

Not a bargain but Tesco have cheese footballs! Love it when Xmas stuff starts coming out and I love cheese footballs!

Well that’s my healthy eating out of the window! So hard to get these days

Last year I got done great codes for poundtoy on here and got my class mini scratch art pictures, a wee sticky yellow man thing and a wee pack of magic putty which can to about 70p each. Then I got them each a pair of Christmas socks from B&M which were cheap too as in a multi pack.

we used to do something similar I think we used these
gemmabooks.com who are based at chesterfield they used to make sets matches to the ages of the kids too

One year Dd's toddler club leader gave each child a silver bell with a parcel tag attached using stripy twine, similar to this. I'm sure you could bulk buy bells within budget and it wouldn't need wrapping.
We hang it on the tree every year

PremiumPiglet · 04/09/2022 22:09

We used to give books to 400 children
Then a cheap novelty toy/item

But now we dont. The older children are well aware of the need to be eco and of Greta Thunberg. We stopped and no-one complained and who wants to add hundreds of bit of tat into the eco system. Being an eco school is quite important to our children.

Over 24 hours without a new post .. I'll try to contribute something.

If you think socks are OK for stocking fillers, then the teal and cassis socks on this page in the Seasalt sale are £1:20 per pair. If you leave the price label on the recipient will think they cost £7.

There's 20% off the sale prices, no code needed.
Postage is free over £50, but delivery to any Seasalt shop is free.
