See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Here are some useful websites:

Amazon free delivery tool here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here

Toys for a pound here

Any additional websites or recommendations to add - just let me know Grin . I should add something about Ali express maybe as we’ve had that before…will get my brain thinking about what other sites/products have been popular.

Thanks @Reastie - could a link to the referrals thread be added to the next intro post? I always struggle to find it for some reason!

dizzygirl1 · 25/08/2022 07:32

Thanks @Reastie
I'm in a tricky year.... dd15, ds 13 and we're downsizing so I don't want to buy 'crap' and only stuff they want or need. I do tend to spoil.... but we won't have room and I won't have space to store presents 😱😱😱
So any ideas of what I can buy is welcome...
Both say they have no idea, DS likes lego and is a build and display child...

Iknownothing · 25/08/2022 07:41

@dizzygirl1 what about nano blocks- like Lego but much smaller models.
Also if you’re moving could you get new duvet set and stuff for their room?

Morning - just a warning to anyone who ordered Stomp school shoes based on the thread a couple of weeks back. One pair were a genuine bargain. The other hasn’t turned up, I was sent a message to say they’d been dispatched, followed by a message to say they were out of stock and I’d receive a refund - and no shoes or refund as yet. We’re now 2 1/2 weeks later. The company have no phone number to call and my emails chasing have gone unanswered, ditto trying to contact them via FB. Also galling as I ended up paying for delivery for one pair but with two, it would have been free. Not impressed at all. Giving it until tomorrow before I open a dispute with my card company. Plus I need the money to buy DC1 another pair before school starts back.

Thanks

UrbanMage · 25/08/2022 09:37

Thanks for a new thread @Reastie.

I bought ten ton of the bath bombs from Bomb cosmetics in the sale. They should arrive today. I've been at my parents for a fortnight and DH keeps moaning at all the packages arriving and there's nothing for him in it

AlternativelyWired · 25/08/2022 09:42

Thanks for the new thread. I tried to cut back last year but didn't manage it. This year I need to as we are going away in February half term. Dc want a Switch but I'm not sure. They are used to multiple gifts instead of one big one and it would be between the two of them. There's things not used or played with from last Christmas though so I really need to cut the number and expense. However I'm tempted by the Lego dots 😁

psuedocream3 · 25/08/2022 10:07

Thanks @Reastie for the new thread. Also thanks @LemonFrosting for the ASOS code yesterday, spent way too much, teen daughter is 'that' age when everything on there is her kind of thing - probably will send some back but had to check out before the code expired.

Going to order some of the reduced lego and switch games later with the £10 off £25 spend on Amazon App code (APP10UK) which should save a fair bit too.

Hard to buy as they have said it's too early to think abouy Christmas and have no idea what they want so hopefully no pricey surprises asked for later on!

Yesss, thank you! Wanted this last time but needed to wait until payday (today).

@UrbanMage Was there a particular offer for bath bombs or just the sale?

The bargain fortnite nerf has arrived, it's huge! And it's back at £15 on Amazon

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 25/08/2022 10:53

Just for info, I've been with craft gin club for years and it is easy to change info/cancel online and they only charge you about 10 days before delivery so if you picked 3 months you've got tons of time to cancel.
Also not Xmas but I love all the seasons and usually buy expensive bath and body works pumpkin soaps for autumn. Found this on Amazon and they smell lovely, nice and strong and the bottles are big. I think it was a bargain.
