Well done, Dreaming! Don't be volunteering for that again! 🤣🤣

Happy birthday Crazy 🎉

Hopefully you have been rewarded with a nice glass of wine Dreaming

DreamingofItaly2023 · 04/08/2022 20:22

Thanks all. They were all well behaved to be fair. It is just crazy how relentless 4 kids are, 1 of them always needs something.

CrazyBaubles · 04/08/2022 23:10

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It's been a 50/50 day. DH did his best to make it nice even though we're away from home but I didn't hear off my sister until late and haven't heard off my mum at all which is a bit shit isn't it?

Fluffy I hope you got home ok and dreaming your day sounded exhausting!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 05/08/2022 07:26

Morning, that is really shit crazy, I’m sorry. I hope you get a massive apology today.

lazy day today, currently lying in bed while DS watches Netflix. DH gets back from London at lunchtime so will see if people fancy a walk. Need to pack as we are going back to where we used to live this weekend. Staying in a hotel once frequented by Obama (I suspect crazy will know it) as insanely it was only about £20 more than premier inn and includes breakfast.

Morning!

Crazy, that's awful. Did you hear at all yesterday?

I was woken by the rain just before 6 and I'm exhausted. I've dropped the car off for a service / its MOT and am now walking to the dentist. I'm doing a big clean when I get home. Exciting times!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 05/08/2022 12:52

No contact from her at all still. I'm not happy but don't really know how to say it without sounding like a child having a tantrum so I'm keeping myself busy tying things up in work as it's my last day for a few weeks 🥳

Dreaming I know the hotel - when I see it on the motorway I know I'm almost home.

Fluffy are you up to your eyeballs in cleaning stuff now?

NoWordForFluffy · 05/08/2022 13:01

That's really bad. I think I'd have gone all passive aggressive in your shoes by now. Well done on being more adult than I would've been!

No cleaning yet. I've filleted some chicken thighs and made some muffins for DS since getting home from the dentist. I'm about to do some cleaning shortly!

Afternoon!

I've spent most of the day so far deep cleaning upstairs. Behind the furniture was very cobwebby! 😳🤣

I bought a new bookcase for DD's room and we've removed the sofa. She now has lots more space in there and it's way tidier too. Thank god. It was a tip! As was mine at that age!

DS' room just needed a good tidy and clean. But in doing so we've created more Lego storage space, which is very useful!

I need to weed the front garden as well. That can wait til after dinner though. Knackered!

HappyBelated Birthday Crazy

I need to do a Proper Clear Out at some time , at the moment I'm just doing mental lists . I need to sort out kitchen things and some of my Christmas Cupboard Though I need to hold off a while , I don't think the Charity Shop will want Christmassey things in August Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 06/08/2022 21:04

I started the Christmas snack purchases yesterday! And I'm going to make a Christmas pudding next week. Things are moving towards being vaguely prepared here!

It won't be long before food can be ordered either, so I will look at that as soon as I can. We have 4 extras this year, so need to plan a bit more.

I think I've still got a Christmas Pudding in the pantry from Christmas 2019 , it will either be fabulous and mature or shriveled up like a Zombie's Brain.

What snacks are you buying and where are you hiding them? Xmas Grin

My DH wandered through with a block of dates ( you know the solid rectangular pack that you have to soak then find any rogue seeds) What are these for ?

(No bloody idea ! I thought )
"Ah for Sticky Toffee Pudding" Random purchase about 4 months ago.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2022 12:10

Stuff like Pretzels, posh crisps, nuts, crackers, Pringles etc. I'll buy more wine when it's on offer again, now I know we have a couple of extra adults.

They go on top of the landing cupboard. Well out of the way! So hidden, we're still eating last year's snacks!

Hi all! Sneaking in through the back door as I’ve started to slowly think about festive things recently 😬

I’m very proud that I’ve managed to save £200 so far towards Christmas! Me and DH have agreed not to buy each other much this year (saving for a holiday) and we don’t have DC, so it will mostly be spent on gifts for family and lots of lovely food/drink.

I’m quite tempted to start picking up some Christmas snacks too @NoWordForFluffy!

I’m also really excited for September as that’s normally when websites start launching their Christmas sections!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 08/08/2022 07:51

Well done on the savings work!

just been for a run and it was misty and cold, very autumnal feeling :) Supposed to get hot this week though.

Checked out the blackberry bushes as there were loads of black ones in South Wales but still green here.

Jeremy Vine muttered something about Christmas shopping (though my TV was paused and I'm about 20 minutes behind )

I only have wrapping paper (one pack) and Pyjamas for DD ( bought 50% off months ago) so I have made a start

We save Nectar Points for the Big Christmas Food Shop
I used to save the £2 coins but I haven't used cash for so long it wouldn't work now .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/08/2022 10:45

Hi all! Sneaking in through the back door as I’ve started to slowly think about festive things recently

Hellooo Work2live no need to use the sneaky back door , the Christmas Wreath clad ,light festooned , ivy wrapped Christmas CountDown Front Door is wide open.
Add Santa Stop Here signs and Inflatable 9' Snowman if you like Xmas Grin

And Bruce-in-a-Vest (Die Hard) You need Bruce (so I;m told) Xmas Wink

BiddyPop · 08/08/2022 11:15

I am making plans. I have a chance to work remotely for a few days, so may take off "out west" with my sewing machine and other things to take some leave as well and relax. While DH manages DDog and bringing DD to all her training sessions (many many sessions each week at the moment!). But I need to limit what I bring, as I am sneakily planning a detour "oop north" en route, to get to Sainsburys and do a massive stores shop and general buying of snacks and treats I don't get here. Some I will eat on my solo relaxation time, but most will come home with me for winter and Christmas use.

What I am trying to figure out is if I put the roof box on the car, how suspicious DH will get...
(Sewing machine is to finally get some projects done, quite a few of which are intended for presents).

Work2live · 08/08/2022 13:14

@70isaLimitNotaTarget 🤣 ok I’ll let myself in through the grotto door!

I honestly don’t know anyone else IRL who loves Christmas as much as me. Everyone I know rolls their eyes when I mention Christmas before December, so I love the Christmas board!

🎄

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 08/08/2022 13:28

Just popping in to say I say an Orchard Christmas game in Sainsbury at the weekend. I’m off now because I can’t think about Christmas until September although I have had a few ideas.

xogossipgirlxo · 08/08/2022 17:03

Afternoon everyone. My husband is doing lots of overtime recently, which means I spend evenings alone. I can't watch tv series without him and your cleaning posts inspired me. I think after I do my daily workouts, vacuuming etc., I will tidy up our drawer of shame. I even found there some out of date tablets and ear drops. Can I bring them to the pharmacy?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/08/2022 19:48

Sod suspicion, Biddy, just go for it! 🤣

I've had a busy old day at work, as it's my first day back. 147 emails and over 200 tasks. Carnage! It's gonna be a fun week. Not!

I've just made the Christmas pudding up to getting it in the (new!) basin. Tomorrow it will have its 7 hour boil / steam. Epic!

That sounds like great smells will be coming from your kitchen tonight Fluffy!! Enjoy.

Nothing better than a good drawer clear out when you are twiddling your thumbs Gossipgirl. You might even clear a space for Christmas goodies stashing that they're safe until needed Xmas Grin

Petrol pump is nearly finished, just imid grey hose line and 1 row of dark grey at the bottom needed, and single thread stitching "GAS" in the middle. I think I'll do another butterfly as the last one (I've no pattern for a golf themed small pic - it needs to be no bigger than 23 in 1 direction, so that male will just get tools instead and DIYer DSis will get something more girly).

BiddyPop · 09/08/2022 08:57

And welcome Work2Live, you are among friends here!

xogossipgirlxo · 09/08/2022 13:32

@NoWordForFluffy pudding in the basin 😅My cats would be very interested what's that food in big bowl?

@BiddyPop I probably should! I am planning on tidying up upstairs (I decided that every day I will clean up small space that won't take me longer than 20-30 minutes). I could really make use of some extra room in the drawers etc.
