Euphoria is about a group of supposed high schoolers. If they're in high school I should be drawing my pension.

27°?! Jesus you must be baking.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 22/03/2022 20:59

fluffy you know my DH so well - he's just said it's "nice and warm" --and he's wearing a jumper and a fleece...
I feel a bit ill. I think I know how the turkey feels in 278 days time. 🥵

firefly the plumber is off to find some (nearly matching) bricks tomorrow morning...his brickie mate said they're struggling to get any (again) covidy brexity supply chain

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 22/03/2022 21:02

nero I might need basting and turning over in the night...

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2022 21:08

I doubt I could sleep, Puss. When can you turn it off?!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 22/03/2022 21:41

I couldn't sleep in that temperature, puss 😮😮 Get the window open!

Supply issues is why we put it off last year, but I really just want it done now, and the new builders I've been speaking to seem confident they can be done in 8 weeks.

Fluffy the allotment isn't too bad. I've dug over 3 of the 5 beds ready for planting, planted some bulbs and perennial flowers along the fence next to the path, built a 'cage' of sorts for the brassica bed, planted two rows of raspberries, made a salad planter from two old pallets (just need compost and salad in it now), and am currently mulching everything in sight with chippings from the conifers I had chopped down so the builder could start 🙄

I'll try and remember to take a photo next time I'm there, but it's definitely getting there! I'll probably go tomorrow after the school run before I start work - it's forecast to be 18 degrees!

Hectic is probably the right word - it's just never ending at the moment!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 03:53

277 You were right, we couldn't sleep. We turned it down to 20 for overnight so it would "tick over", but it was still too warm, so I've just got up and opened the downstairs windows it's lovely and chilly outside and conservatory windows and it's cooled down and kicked the boiler back on 🤷‍♀️
The longer it runs the better. The water in the radiators was grim. It's been dosed up with cleaner and will be power flushed later. The plumber expects the filter to be full of crap from the pipes/radiators when he's finished I'm somewhere between proud and horrified
Anyway. I've been up since 3. First load of laundry in the washer. Why are no shops open???🤔

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 06:15

Morning!

It's quite impressive horrifying how much gunk comes out of rads, isn't it?!

The weather isn't helpful for heating being on, now it's warming nicely! 🥵 🥵

OP posts:
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 06:48

I'm sorry about my carbon footprint today. The heating is wanging away and my windows are open to cool down Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 06:56

Good job it's before the price cap goes up! 🙈🤣

OP posts:
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 07:45

Yes. Although we're still fixed until June.
It's tropical - I've just been outside to the bin and it feels 🥶 in comparison.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 07:50

That's not so bad then. Prices last year were far more favourable, weren't they? I've never been so glad to go against my usual pattern of fixing for a year, and fixing for two, last August.

👙 time Chez Puss?! 🙈🤣

OP posts:
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 08:06

I don't want to frighten the plumber Grin
It'll be going off in just over an hour anyway, then I'll probably need thermals 🤦‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 08:13

Yes. You'll have acclimatised to the tropics by then! 🤣🤣

Afternoon. Sunny and warm here ☀️

neros Euphoria is on a list of things I'd like to get around to watching but I haven't managed it yet.
We did watch Trigger Point last week though, which was ok.

puss are you ok? I think I'd melt with the heating on at the mo!

Firefly is it an extension that you're doing? If so I hope it goes well. Please update here - we want to get one done next year if possible (we want to take down the conservatory and replace it with a 2 story extension) and I'm so scared of doing such a big project!

Not much to report here. Work is busy busy busy. I've spent a bit of time cleaning, sorting, planning what to plant etc and ordering seeds.

I've decided to try just a handful of things in the garden this year, but once we've done the extension I think we may put in a raised bed so I can try and grow more.
I won't be anywhere near as good as you Fluffy but I've never grown much of anything before so hopefully I'll manage something edible this year!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 12:27

Crazy try 🍅🥔🥕 they're all pretty easy to grow we've managed all of them in pots or veg bags from wilko
v little maintenance (spuds need topping up with compost every few days) other than fertilizer and watering just don't drown them Grin

fluffy my pipes have been vibrated...filth came out, am a slattern, obvs. 🤣

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/03/2022 13:23

Hi folks, gorgeous and sunny here. I am washing the bedding #LivingTheDream.

Well Puss fancy broadcasting about your filthy pipes! 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 13:28

You'll get there, Crazy. I still have things which fail on me!

Puss, at least your pipes are now clean. Sounds like they'll be happy. 🤣🤣

It's gorgeous here too; nice and toasty in the greenhouse, especially!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 14:53

70 will be along later telling me off for lowering the tone again!

CrazyBaubles · 23/03/2022 15:39

puss my plan so far are to try:
Chillis
Potatoes
Carrots
Peppers
Strawberries
Lemons (in the conservatory)
Garlic (in the winter)

I'm also planning wildflower pots again and considering adding a pot of jasmine (all with a view to helping the bees)

I abandoned the idea of tomatoes on the basis that they attract greenfly which attract ladybirds Blush and we don't actually eat many tomatoes in this house.

Thanks Fluffy! I'm hoping that if / when I get the raised bed going, Ill be able try growing parsnips and swede too.

On the countdown to finishing work. My head is 🤯

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/03/2022 18:07

@pussycatunpickingcrossesagain

70 will be along later telling me off for lowering the tone again!
I am here pussycat , Xmas Wink

Thoughts now turn to Spring (even though I had ice on my windscreen on Monday )
Lots of new growth on the plants in the garden.

I have ribbon for my Easter Wreath and planning my bi-annual trip to Big Waitrose ( I go Christmas and Easter )

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 23/03/2022 18:36

Well, it's done...just a small issue left to fix with the spark next wk and paying the bill, obvs the water is hot, the radiators all work now - even one which has never worked properly (for 15yrs) I suspect DH will be toasty and I'll be sitting outside a lot Grin
Next job is replacing the garage door with something thermally insulated - I don't like having a cold draught coming in through my flap.
🥶🤭

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/03/2022 20:05

Nowt worse than draughty flaps puss! 😂🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 23/03/2022 20:07

You'll get your ears flicked again, Puss! 🤣🤣

Sounds like your dirty pipes were causing real issues. Hurrah for a power flush!

Morning!

We've had our first 24 hours without heating this year! It's so nice to have warmer weather. ☀️

Hopefully it'll also be nice at Easter when I'm off.

CrazyBaubles · 24/03/2022 08:02

Morning! Lovely and sunny here. I've got a load of washing on (which has cleared the wash basket 😇), measured up the utility room because I want to get some kitchen cabinets in there to make it look tidy and have watered my Christmas trees. Im still trying to bring one back to life and desperately trying to stop the other from dropping needles - any help / tips appreciated.
Am now at my desk waiting for my system to do some update and reboot thing.

puss and why I am clutching my pearls reading about your draughty flaps! 😳😂
