My tummy is not too full, I was a bit careful in case I ended up running after people at work. Having a buffet tea tomorrow which I intend to enjoy to the max.

I have topped up with mince pies. I may burst! 🤣

Thanks for the new thread Fluffy . I've remembered why I'm not keen on doing Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day...

Feel like I've spent all day in the kitchen

I'm now in bed, absolutely exhausted and a little emotional - DD was so over the moon with her presents, and has been so good. Everything was worth it.

I woke up early again. Just what I needed. 🙄 I also woke in the middle of the night absolutely boiling. God knows what went on there! 🤷‍♀️

I need to go to the allotment to feed the birds today. Doubt I'll do much else while I'm there really.

Then we'll have to look at tidying the front room a bit...it's covered in stuff right now!

My lounge is semi bomb site. I did warn everyone that things have to be cleared up to their rooms by lunchtime today. We'll see...

I'm contemplating walking to the shop for some rolls and a bit of fresh air. I'm going to spend some time this afternoon looking for wrapping paper and maybe some cards to put away for next year.

Hope everybody had a good day yesterday. I am doing my Christmas buffet tea this afternoon.

Off to get a PCR this morning ( I have no LFT and I have symptoms so I need to know before Wed as I am back at work)

Lovely DS came wandering through and said the reason it didn;t fee like Christmas was no tree ( we decided the cats were too violent to risk it , I don;t want Tree v TV Wars . The telly would lose )
And we didn;t set out the Father Christmas Tray
We haven;t done that for well over 10 years , my DD is 19 and she was the one who insisted when she was little .

He'll claim he forgot all the nice things we did when they were younger ( he hasn't forgotten he's just a little turd sometimes ) but then bring up the Tray

He was delighted with his presents ( shaving things , big Galaxy bar and ££ in his bank account )

I think the real reason it didn't feel like Christmas was everything is in limbo with them being ill.

Next year , I;m getting a life sized Elf on the Shelf . It;ll be his DS room every night in Dec

For the first time ever, I’ve been organised enough to buy next years PJs in the sales (although I am boycotting Next for not VIPing me).

What else should I be getting in advance? Nothing too big as I don’t like storing it all.

I store jumpers and PJs in the next sizes up. But not much else really.

Afternoon all. We've been out for a walk and now I'm getting stuck into the peanuts and wine mainly because DD is rewatching her nativity play for the eighth time. it's absolute torture

We went to my sisters today which was nice. I haven't done any washing since before we went away so really need to do that, DH needs to put the new washing machine in though...

We didn't have mince pies yesterday, we had cheese instead. Mince pies today, however. And cinnamon rolls for breakfast too!

I'm giving blood at lunch time so need to eat enough and drink loads before I go.

I did a bit of a Lego sort yesterday...didn't finish it, however! I shall carry on later, I suppose. 🙄😴

Morning! We had cinnamon rolls yesterday, fluffy. I haven't bought any mince pies this year as no one is that keen.

Taking ds for a PCR in a bit, I want dh to come so I can pop into the Sainsbury's next door but he doesn't want to I've got a Tesco delivery booked for Friday in case we all get it.

We're eating our way through the rolls I made on Christmas Eve! 5 to go...😁

I've had one bought mince pie this year (on the Santa train). It was terribly disappointing. The ones I make are far superior if I do say so myself! The kids don't like them, but we do, and so do the school staff, as I send a load of home baking to school instead of giving a Christmas gift to the teacher.

Dh is coming not sure why he said he wouldn't yesterday. Think he was just being a bit of a nob. Ie trying to be funny by saying he didn't want to be in the car with ds if he has Covid.

It's raining here. Again. Fed up of all the rain now.

My blood donation has been cancelled due to 'vehicle difficulties'. I've rebooked for tomorrow nearer to Liverpool, as if that doesn't happen, there isn't one I can go to until Feb. And no doubt those dates will go soon too, as everyone from today will have to rebook. I get cancelled more often than I manage to go.

Dh can't get a blood appointment until June. It'll be almost a year since he last donated, they just don't seem to be coming very often.

I think I've left enough of a gap that I'm allowed to give blood again now so I'll see if I can book now - thanks for the reminder!

Christmas Day was a bit of a bust here tbh. We had seen my parents, dsis and kids by 11. DHs dinner was bloody lovely too but by 3pm it was just us 2 with nothing really to do and it just felt a bit flat.
Yesterday was much better as we hosted my parents, my auntie and uncle, dsis and the kids and another auntie popped in unexpectedly so we had people here from 12pm until 9:30.

Today I was really looking forward to putting the house tidy, eating cheese and starting a craft project (unsure what) but DH invited some of our friends around this afternoon and forgot to tell me so we've cleaned and tidied and now I just want a nap 🥱
I'm sat watching Arthur Christmas and looking online to see if there are any nice Christmas card & wrapping paper bargains to be had...

I'm watching Peter Rabbit 2 at present. It, it's on, at least!

I've just done some life admin (paying a few things as it's my actual pay day today, so I had tasks in to do stuff!). Which reminds me I also need to set a standing order up into a savings account for next Christmas! That's my next job.

I've swapped blood donation for drinking booze, ha ha! Crazy, if you have the Blood.co.U.K. app, it tells you when you can next donate.

I cleaned the kitchen (etc!) earlier, before I was meant to leave to donate, and steam mopped the hard floors, so at least my appointment made me be productive if nothing else!

I'm proving the pizza dough and thinking about chopping up some vegetables for soup . Partly because I'm bored , partly to clear some spece
I'll oven roast them then store in the fridge and make the soup tomorrow (don;t have enough room to store the made up soup) .
Onion, potatoe , carrot, some swede and parsnip . The sprouts could find their way in ................. As it's Christmas and I'll do my Nigel Slater impression In these quiet days after Christmas , I find myself in the kitchen opening up any packets of food in the fridge , seeing what flavours I can rustle up

Roast vegetable soup and some toasted cheese on the side maybe ?

We have just had our Christmas lunch with DS and family. They arrived late yesterday so we are having a second Christmas today.

By new year, I will barely be able to squeeze through the gym doorway!
