It's been a lovely, sunny day here.
70 I had 2 loads of washing on the line earlier (including some bedding) and it made me feel so happy and content so I understand you.

You've been busy Fluffy.

I went in to town, returned a top I'd bought online that didn't fit and bought 3 tops, a cardigan and a bra while I was in the shopping, picked up a c&c clothes order from a different shop (which included a bargain Christmas T-shirt - pic from website attached), picked up some yarn as requested by my dm (blue and yellow because she's requested some Ukrainian flag badges for a charity thing her work are doing), then went into wilko and got lost along the gardening aisles. Ended up with some big pots so I can pot on my Christmas trees, a tray that I can put some pots on in the conservatory (ready for some peppers and chilliest I'm going to try to grow), some new gardening gloves and a nice little pot for dm because I've said I'll pot on her cactus as he's bursting out of the tiny pot she has him in.

Have also cleaned the kitchen, rubbed a mint scented cleaner along the window frames etc in the hopes of keeping bugs out and walked the dog.
Cooking tea then planning to get started on the Ukrainian flags for dm.

Crazy about the knitting - which you've undone - as a first attempt that's pretty good 🥇 . You need to have the same tension in each stitch and each row (although the first in each row you can get away with) purling is weird, isn't it? it feels wrong, but the photo from Woolly shows one row of knit and one row of purl (purl always takes loads longer - and if I'm going to drop my needle, that's when🤦‍♀️)

I put a load of body lotion on before, then rubbed my eyes, owww they're crying on their own and I want to join in. 😭🤦‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 19/03/2022 19:37

Oh no, Puss, I do that kind of thing all the time it's worse with chillies though!

Crazy, I reckon you've beat me for productivity! Busy old day you've had!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 19/03/2022 19:37

DH has watched 🏇 racing on tues, wed, thurs, fri and today - then Chelsea (winning) and now F1 qually highlights (go Charlie go).
I do love sport, but...
I may need some help with the wheelbarrow, digging, shifting slabs etc...
[pissed off face] 🤷‍♀️

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 19/03/2022 19:39

fluffy I might just cry.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/03/2022 20:04

I'm good at digging...

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 19/03/2022 20:33

I will provide beer...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/03/2022 21:08

I'm no good with new patios but I tried my new garden shredder ........DH had better watch out , I could have him minced and bagged in half an hour and sluice the place clean

CrazyBaubles · 19/03/2022 21:27

Thank puss. There are some holes in the section I made but the first and last row had the same amount of stitches so I was quite pleased with my attempts tbh. Holding the needles feels so alien to me anyway, but purl stitches just 🤯 I kept getting muddled!
How on earth do you know the pic from Woolly has 1 row of knit then a row of purl please? I've looked and looked and am just confused.

Also, re your DH, I paid a lot of attention when having our patio done last year so I'm pretty sure I could help you with that!

Hope your eyes are ok! My speciality seems to be rubbing my eyes after putting a 4head stick on - it's a bit like rubbing Vicks in your eyes 😩😭

Fluffy I've also done a bit of a bug hunt and have been researching ways to get rid of my fear of them.
We have some ladybirds here which we didn't in the last house. I really want to just ignore them but I have a spidey sense for them and they freak me out so much.

Sounds like a cool toy you've got there 70.... how transportable is it? 🤔

NoWordForFluffy · 19/03/2022 21:33

Have you seen Fargo?!

Puss, beer? I'm in! 🤣

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/03/2022 07:12

Crazy if you look at woollys knitting, you'll see all the "loops" are at the back - so she's knitted one row and then purled the next (stocking stitch).

Morning!

I've been awake forever...somehow my body keeps thinking that 5.57 is a cracking wake-up time. I'm not in agreement, quite frankly.

It's meant to be another lovely day today. I shall go and do some weeding at the allotment and feed the birds. Hopefully I see more birds this week; they were in hiding last week!

WreckTangled · 20/03/2022 07:35

Our forecast looks lovely for the next ten days. Getting up to 18°. Today it's only going to be 11° though.

I need to do some uni work today and bake some 'cereal bars' for the dc. Hoping they like them. Dd has said what's I've planned for lunch next week isn't enough for her, any ideas on what I can add that won't cost loads?

Cream cheese and ham sandwich
Cherry tomatoes and cucumber
Tub of fruit
Homemade cereal bar (oats, peanut butter etc)
Yoghurt

I suggested homemade mini frittata type thing but that was a no. What she wants is something like a sausage roll or crisps but she's starting to grow outwards as quickly as upwards and I want to get on top of it before it becomes an issue Sad I have got some breadsticks and a cheese and chive dip but was going to save that for after school.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2022 07:41

How about some crackers?

Are you allowed nuts in the lunch? We can't have anything nutty in case of allergies of any pupils.

Something like Sunbites aren't high calorie snacks.

WreckTangled · 20/03/2022 07:56

Yes at secondary school they don't have any rules on food. I've always been really strict on crisps Blush but maybe something like that would be a good idea. The baked not fried crisps I guess? Would keep her happy hopefully. I do understand where she's coming from as she has breakfast around 6:30 then lunch isn't until 1:15 and not home until 4:15 so it's a long day and I know children this age do get hungry. She's just so bloody fussy at the moment!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2022 08:37

DS has limited eating with his autism. DD also has issues, and I think she is also likely autistic, so I'm keeping a watchful eye on her, as girls present so differently to boys. It doesn't half make trying to keep them fed interesting! Sigh.

And yes, baked crisps as a compromise would be fine. We've never been arsed about crisps really. There's so few in a bag these days that I can't be bothered to worry. And they eat loads of fruit and veg.

Would she eat a banana?

WreckTangled · 20/03/2022 08:54

Nope. She doesn't like bananas apparently (although would eat one on pancakes with syrup HmmWink). She's never been a massively fussy eater really, neither of them are. She likes expensive fruit like mango, but not frozen, it has to be fresh... she likes raw carrot but can't eat it with her braces (won't eat pepper annoyingly).

I think when they have autism then it's not worth battle with food, I know lots of children who survive on a very small selection of foods, it was a nightmare for their parents in lockdown when they couldn't get the specific brand of something that they eat.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2022 09:18

Oh yeah, we've just decided to go along with it. No amount of trying to force DS to eat something would work, so why cause aggro?! 🤷‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2022 10:42

I've just ordered a bulk bag of peat free compost...not sure we will use 1000L this year, but it won't go off! 🤣 It was far cheaper than buying smaller bags.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/03/2022 13:56

I made some delicious harissa and haloumi pastries yesterday to have with roast pepper soup ( I had frozen some of the roast vegetables from the last soup making so easy to rustle up)
Had hideous heartburn relfux during the night Xmas Envy felt really queasy but slept through it .Maybe eating the last patry at 11pm wasn't such a good idea...............

I've just looked at my little plants , the seeds are still doing diddly squat but some of my climbers are getting new leaves on.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/03/2022 15:01

I can't do pastry, baguettes tend to give me heartburn lately, and pizza Shock
It never used to be a problem.

DH got F1 on now...watched the Toffees lose, Liverpool later...

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2022 16:29

Maybe you should have gone outside to start digging, Puss?!

Heartburn can be hormonal, can't it like every-sodding-thing? I seem to get it these days every now and then and never used to. Sigh.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/03/2022 17:10

My DH is on Season 4 of "Z-Nation"

It is like a PoundShop Walking Dead .

Utter Utter shite , it's gone from "Hmm ok if you like that sort of thing " to "I wonder if the writers of Scooby Doo and Scrappy Too were resposible " ?

they should just throw themselves into the Zombie Crowd and get bit Xmas Hmm
End all this tripe right now .

Eyes up loose slab on patio.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/03/2022 17:28

70 time to test the shredder...🪓🩸🤫
