How much does everyone still have left to do?

Our to-do list is getting smaller, last bits of food shopping, present dropped to someone, clean the house, DH is taking our 3 DD’s into town Christmas shopping on the 23rd and I will finish off the final bit of wrapping that were late deliveries or twitches!!! 🤣

My plan is to have absolutely everything done by Christmas Eve so we can properly enjoy and if that works out it will be the 1st year ever!!

We’re having a non-Christmas other than dinner so no stress here for the first time ever!
It’s bliss 😃

Not too much left to do, make bread sauce (yes, I love it), prep veg, lay the table for the main event, find the Christmas pud left over from last year that I hid .. am also at work today but will finish early and have a relaxing time on my own whilst DH fetches DS ... complicated arrangement depending on which trains are running. Easy dinner tonight so nothing to worry about ... except that I must not drink too much. We cooked a big ham last night ... delicious but I had far too many glasses of wine with it so feel a little rough this morning . Have got some 'nice' soft drinks in so will try to stick to them tonight.

Not much left, just a couple of cards to write on, everything else is done!

Plan for today...attempt to wake the teen at a reasonable hour so she might actually go to sleep at a reasonable time tonight. Put away some clean laundry. Cook meat (gammon is already in). Hopefully watch a Christmas movie. Go out for late lunch/early dinner. Step dad is coming round early evening to do present exchange.

All I have to do is brave the mouse downstairs. It's either still running about or the cat has killed it. Neither option is palatable but I can't retreat in the bedroom all day.

The cheese was collected at 7:30, I replaced the missing quiches at M&S and bought salad. Morrison's have been and I've done fridge Jenga, it'll need another shuffle to get the cauliflower Cheese in later and the turkey ( it's in there defrosting but will be in a big cast iron casserole dish tonight brining.

I've really just got to sweep and mop the kitchen floor and a quick run around with the vac before my mother descends.

And then the usual cooking, I'm baking a pie (I've already made pastry), the cauliflower Cheese and cooking the ham today.

Stockings to fill later, that's about it.

Today: hoover, change bedsheets, general house tidy. Starting after my coffee

Freezer drawer cleared to make room for last items

Clean oven door
Clean rest of oven
Three presents still to wrap
Washing to dry
Another load in
Potatoes to peel
Final shopping trip for Yorkshire puddings/bread and cheese!
Bathroom to clean
Empty kitchen bin

Going nip across to Morrisons and get the last bits and a gift bag/replacement baking trays to replace the manky ones I've just taken out of the oven!
Will tackle the bathroom and the last presents this afternoon

New load in washer

Gaaaaah so much 😭 have to clean and tidy the whole house which is a bombsite because we've been isolating. I'm going to make the process less arduous with Bailey's and Christmas carols.

The house won't be clean or particularly tidy. But apart from that I'm feeling on top of things (possibly for the first time ever since eldest DC was born!)

But there's nothing else to do tonight apart from sneak around with stockings.

Tomorrow it's just lunch to tackle - DH will start off the cooking whilst I do the table.

Ds2 tested positive so no inlaws, everything downgraded in stress levels and work.

House is still mostly chaos.
Fry up for dinner.

First Christmas that all the DC don’t believe in FC so it’s all a bit weird.
Still going along with stockings and Santa presents under the tree anyway.

None of our kids believe any more which does take some pressure off! Just got them into bed and letting them settle off before bringing the presents downstairs.
