How much does everyone still have left to do?

Our to-do list is getting smaller, last bits of food shopping, present dropped to someone, clean the house, DH is taking our 3 DD’s into town Christmas shopping on the 23rd and I will finish off the final bit of wrapping that were late deliveries or twitches!!! 🤣

My plan is to have absolutely everything done by Christmas Eve so we can properly enjoy and if that works out it will be the 1st year ever!!

What’s everyone else still to do?

Big clean tomorrow as I on leave and DS is going to my parent's. Woodwork already done as I HATE doing that

Nothing. Work tomorrow and that's it. Although we're having "Christmas" on Friday not Saturday so I've had to get things done sooner than others.

I took the DC out this morning to buy the last few presents. Almost everything still needs wrapping. The cleaners have just been so the house is nice and clean, and hopefully it'll just need a quick hoover of the living room and wipe of the bathroom on Friday. DH is taking the DC out on Christmas eve so I'll have a few hours for cooking, last few decorations, wrapping etc.

I think I’m organised this year, I have a Tesco shop coming Friday and my DM coming for a buffet. Christmas Day we’re out for lunch. I’ve bought and wrapped all my presents. I’m away the day after Boxing Day so will plan my outfits etc tomorrow.

I’m not sure 🤷‍♀️

I have to collect all the meat from the butchers tomorrow…and a few random bits from the supermarket

My house is a mess (managed to clean the en suite) so I need to crack on and do that

Big house clean

Not too bad. We've done the big shop but need a top up shop before the end of the week.

All presents bought and family visited. Have taken the kids out on a couple of activities this week so we can wind down at home for the rest of the week.

Have a few gifts left to wrap which I'll tackle tomorrow. I also want to clean the oven before Christmas Day and give the house a tidy up beforehand but won't go over the top!

Waiting on one last gift to arrive (hopefully tomorrow) so I can wrap it. Also have our Christmas Day food delivery coming tomorrow. We've splashed out on Tommy Banks' set menu box, so hoping it'll be nice! ☺️

So much to do!! We’ve had some work done on the house very recently and the whole house needs cleaning, bedding changing, towels washing etc. We need a tip run as some of our bins are full and not due to be emptied for another week. My washing basket is over flowing. Need to go to the shops for food and still a few presents to wrap. Going to do as much as I can tomorrow so can have a nice Christmas Eve hopefully!

I have to do a big house clean today, tidy up the garden (will get kids/DH to do this) and make a plan for prepping Xmas dinner.

Also need to clean the car as it is in a total state, and then tomorrow morning will be spent prepping veg before pils call to visit in the afternoon.

I need to do a quick shop to buy the things which were "unavailable" on my online delivery, but that is about it really. A bit of tidying, some Crafts to finish off with the kids etc.

Today

• Pick up DH's present from the shop
• Wrap one person's stocking (adult so only about 5 things)

Tomorrow Am

Prep Christmas Eve dinner - we eat Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and then go out for lunch on Christmas Day. I basically want it all ready to go to start cooking once we get back from the panto.

Buy a baguette

That's it. Some stuff has just not happened/ arrived and I'm just living with it. As of 12pm Christmas Eve, if it's not cleaned, bought, made or prepped it never will be.

I am just typing my timings for Christmas dinner with dh soon, and then going to the local farm shop for the last of the vegetables and some flowers and plants for the house and I am ready.

I have bought a few extra gifts, as a surprise for the children, so I will wrap those later with the carols in the background, and join a friend at the local pub for a drink this evening. Feeling ready.

And a dog poop check of the garden :)

Just finished wrapping the Santa presents for dc - I'm a bad sleeper and after an hour of mumsnetting I thought I'd put my time to better use!

Did xmas food shop yesterday - only one thing I couldn't get so will get that today.

2 last minute presents to buy and then wrap the last of the family gifts.

Then a quick tidy up but I'm not going to hoover as there will be mess everywhere anyway and put cute penguin bedding on dc bed.

Xmas eve we will visit my parents early afternoon then crash out at home with party food (just for the 3 of us)

Presents wrapped, food in. DS has Covid and I’m waiting on my test now so The Big Clean can sling it this year (other than Covid cleaning, but that doesn’t need the furniture moving and the usual silliness).

Final dusting of DS1’s MIL’s bedroom. She speaks little English. They are arriving today.

Find box of nativity scene figures for DGS to arrange.

Make a few festive phone calls.

Make an online donation to an animal charity which is what our lovely DIL asked for as a present.

Take some marzipan fruits to neighbour

Finishing touches to dining room table, already mainly laid for Christmas Day. Meals in conservatory until then.

Try to relax, accept it won’t be perfect, be happy regardless.

I cleaned yesterday but will need to hoover again (and again and probably again) as have a floofy cat. Put clean sheets on our bed. Deliver some presents later today. Hope the turkey defrosts and hope a top I've ordered for Christmas day arrives in time.

Bought all my presents weeks ago and felt very organised. Still haven't wrapped any or been food shopping for the Christmas dinner and need to clean the house

Oh and give everyone worm medicine and wash every single item of bloody fabric etc in the whole house 😭 who wants to sit down and watch a Christmas film anyway!

No sparkles in bedroom, still sweeping them off the kitchen floor after cake decoration. But electric blanket switched on. She comes from a hot country.

Still haven't cleaned the kitchen, but I have finished work, the fridge must be done tonight, the rest might have to wait till tomorrow. Definitely a take away for dinner tonight.
