How much does everyone still have left to do?

Our to-do list is getting smaller, last bits of food shopping, present dropped to someone, clean the house, DH is taking our 3 DD’s into town Christmas shopping on the 23rd and I will finish off the final bit of wrapping that were late deliveries or twitches!!! 🤣

My plan is to have absolutely everything done by Christmas Eve so we can properly enjoy and if that works out it will be the 1st year ever!!

What’s everyone else still to do?

I did Winter Solstice yesterday so I'm done until next year.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 22/12/2021 08:49

Not much and larger cleaning jobs are done. Oh the pleasure of reaching down to plug something in by the side of the chair and it's clear and hoovered!!
Batteries for candles, one or two extra gifts to buy, some ingredients to dress the duck,...

But if there was a lock down right now, we are set really.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 22/12/2021 08:51

Oh yes a few more gifts to wrap but the bulk is done.

Billyliarohdear · 22/12/2021 08:54

I need to buy a gammon joint, buy a small present for DP to go with the aftershave I bought and DD has been looking at a particular PJ set online so I'm going to go into town to see if it's in store and wrap it as a surprise.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 22/12/2021 08:56

I just need to gather together the stocking gifts for the DCs ready for Christmas eve, buy fresh bread, get some sparkling water in as not drinking, change beds, clean bathrooms and hoover and mop. And not get covid obviously

AutumnAnn · 22/12/2021 09:01

Ordered our Christmas food shop last night so that's arriving this morning, no substitutions thankfully. Still waiting on 2 deliveries although apparently royal mail is having delays so I'm expecting one to not be here in time for Christmas unfortunately, think that's about it

Littlewhiteballs · 22/12/2021 09:02

Allllllll the wrapping! 🤦‍♀️ But other than that it's mostly done. Poor dd tested positive so we haven't been able to go out and do any of the things we had planned. I'm dreading being really sick on Christmas day as it's just me and the dc so they won't get a Christmas if I'm laid up in bed. Wish me luck! 🤞

You've reminded me with your covid comment, I need to buy some disposable masks, a lunchtime job for today, also treats for my mothers dog who I've forgotten.
TheOrigRights · 22/12/2021 09:03

All wrapping, write and send cards, add to sains click and collect, collect it, buy stocking fillers, work tomorrow.
Standard for me.

HalloHello · 22/12/2021 09:06

Await PCR results for everyone as we all met up the other day and now one of us has symptoms 🙈 3 households!!
ASDA click and collect tomorrow evening
Build bike and shelving unit
Hoover the whole house, catch up with washing, put away the mountain of clean washing, mop the floors and clean the oven.

We are hopefully going to my parents for Christmas Day negative results pending so at least we don't have to cook but have the food for the rest of the week due tomorrow. Also need to pop to Lidl for more wine as we started on the red early when we found out we were close contacts 🤣🤣

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 22/12/2021 09:06

Hardly anything left to do here, needed to get Christmas linen down and washed and put on table, and make some sausage rolls for a family buffet on Christmas Eve. Need to go to butcher's and bakers tomorrow to collect our Christmas orders and ocado is coming tomorrow aswell.

We keep Christmas really simple and always have done so not alot of stress!

Bellafrenum · 22/12/2021 09:07

Pretty much done, last minute Amazon delivery with 3 bits for DH will need wrapping when they arrive tomorrow. Did a big clean last week so just keeping on top of tidying /hoovering etc each day. Food delivery arrives this evening. Need to take the turkey out of the freezer tomorrow. Going to drop off a few gifts on Christmas eve. Just enjoying it all now really.

Daisiesandsweetpeas · 22/12/2021 09:08

-- DH doing food shop tonight or tomorrow
-- I have to wrap one present
-- put out snacks etc

Then Christmas Eve is bringing the presents down, making sure kids bags are packed for Boxing Day at ILs, swapping car seats around, washing hair, just general prep.

Aside from that, we're on top of everything.

lollipoprainbow · 22/12/2021 09:13

Just a few more snacks to buy now for Christmas Eve, drop my mums Christmas present to her at the care home as they are in full lockdown and I can't see her ShockCame home from work yesterday and my daughters dad had blitzed my flat to within an inch of its life and it looks fantastic ! Made my day.

MajorCarolDanvers · 22/12/2021 09:14

I'm done (she says smugly) 🥳

Just got to get my click and collect and that's pretty much it n

Topbird29 · 22/12/2021 09:28

Got dm arriving today for xmas- all gone lft this morning, and all clear. Did hoovering and cleaning yesterday, so today have got to get bedding and camp bed out and ready for dm, cook a sausage plait for lunch, and DS is going to help me cook a wacky cake - a WW2 chocolate cake. Did it in Cubs a few weeks back, but never tasted the final product as not cooked in time. Get some fresh bits today, them main food orders delivered and collected tomorrow. Then tomorrow afternoon get anything missing. Presents all done - not staying up late wrapping again!

onedayoranother · 22/12/2021 09:30

Cleaning - nothing more than the usual but I hate housework and put it off as long as possible! I dragged the vacuum cleaner upstairs three days ago but still haven't used it and I need it downstairs now! We re renovating and have only had one bathroom so that needs a good scrub now the builders are away until New Year.
I'm realising I'm not going to get to the PO to mail two of the last presents - I might revert to Amazon for one as I can save the one I already have for her birthday, but I'll have to apologise to the other recipient.
Everything else I've bought and is under the tree. Food delivery and pick up tomorrow. Have to collect my son 70 miles away Christmas Eve as he is working that day and I don't trust the trains - he would just make the last one but I'll save him the panic. I actually feel pretty organised.
My main worry is what restrictions may be in place after Christmas as I'm planning an overnight trip to see friends and will hate it if gyms and shops close as that's my son's work and life.

yoshiblue · 22/12/2021 09:30

Just having a sit down after doing the food shop!

Dust/hoover
Wrap handful of final presents
Collect the chicken from the butcher

DH and DS need to sort out sons bedroom. It's an absolute tip and I've told him Santa is going to have a accident in there! Grin

GettingStuffed · 22/12/2021 09:37

It's getting less but I've injured my shin so I'm restricted in what I can do. I've spent this morning wrapping presents so I've made inroads into that.

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 22/12/2021 09:41

Big food shop tomorrow night with me Muther. Two children's stocking fillers to be wrapped. Friends' family presents to be wrapped and dropped round as well as a couple of local cards. Bit of a sweep and tidy on Friday (including getting the kids' rooms mucked out) and then if there's anything I've forgotten it's too late and we'll crack on regardless. I've been ill with the flu and have zero motivation for a grand affair this year.

AudTheDeepAndCrispAndEven · 22/12/2021 09:42

Oh, and finish icing cake. Had accidentally bought white marzipan instead of icing. sent DH yesterday to hunt and gather and he came home with FOUR packets of BLUE icing, FML!

Happyface120 · 22/12/2021 09:42

DH out doing food shop now.
Will collect turkey from farm shop tomorrow.
Need to clean bathrooms and living room, then will do quick wipe round on Xmas eve.
Have a couple of last minute twitch gifts due to arrive today, so need to wrap them.
Deliver DDs friends gifts (bloody school closed earlier than planned and they hadn't arrived in time 😭).
Clear fridge and cupboard before DH gets back with shopping (really need to get on with that now).
Prep red cabbage, Christmas day dessert, make stuffing and soup for starter.
Think about and make canapés.
I just want to drink baileys and watch crap TV Confused but hopefully will be sorted for a chilled couple of days after today

TheCrow · 22/12/2021 09:45

Drop presents/cards at friend's houses
Buy fresh veg for Christmas dinner
Get last few presents on my list tonight after work
Work every day until Christmas ☹️
House clean
Wrap everything 😱 this one's the worst as it's the latest I've ever not had anything wrapped
Break open the Christmas chocs while doing wrapping
Brush Dcat's fur and trim his nails so he looks his best for visitors

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 22/12/2021 09:48

Wrap stocking presents (x3)
Wrap DH presents
Exchange gifts with SIL during lunch break Friday as DS2 has covid so they can't come Christmas morning
Get turkey out of the freezer
Leave DH a list of prep to do on Friday while I'm at work
Buy some cream as it was out of stock in Morrisons yesterday and although Aldi had loads Sunday, the expiry date was tomorrow.

Some cleaning and stuff to do, but I'm working tomorrow and Christmas eve, currently still in bed this morning thinking about getting up... Everyone else is asleep. Taking DS1 and his friend out today to cinema, but I'll probably come home and get on with stuff and send DH to pick them up.

RosesAndHellebores · 22/12/2021 09:48

Wrap three oresents
Buy veg and salad stuff
