Went online to order some last minute gifts from M&S and it's too late...
No click n collect nor delivery dates until
29th December!
Bugger.

Husband will only have books this year. No slippers. Dressing gown or socks. Welll, not until after Christmas anyway. In which case I might as well wait for the sales 😃

In the OP's defence I ordered a jumper from M&S last week.

At the time they were giving click and collect 'last order' dates as this week but when i clicked through they automatically selected 29th December, no alternative.

So conflicting messages on the website.

Is it a tradition that he get a new dressing gown every year?

I reckon you'd get your order by Christmas but they're probably covering themselves (in case of staff illness due to Omicron) saying it won't arrive until the 29th.

It must be where you live as I can get next day delivery and click and collect this week

It's not even a Christmas thing. Not sure you could guarantee getting something by Friday if you ordered on Tuesday even a month ago.

Tbh I ordered presents weeks ago from M&S and was messed about non stop. One item is still awol so I’m avoiding M&S for a bit until things settle. Probably not their fault with staff shortages etc but annoying when I was trying to be organised. You might’ve dodged a bullet OP!

I'd have been more surprised and shocked if they'd been able to deliver before Christmas at this late stage.

That's normal timescales for M&S click and collect in my experience so I'm not surprised at all. It's also quite close to Xmas, people are doing more online shopping to avoid crowded shops and apparently there's some virus going round and a lot of staff are off sick.

Even in a normal year l wouldn't be leaving it this late op!

It's December 21st. I wouldn't expect anything ordered today to arrive before Christmas now. I'm more surprised that you're surprised to find out you've left it rather late.

Oh behave you waited until the 21st for delivery or click and collect . Even last week no click and collect at Morrisons I too left it late .

Have you managed to get a delivery date this late other years? Probably not.

I love how everyone is jumping on the op. Some people have only just got paid and it's all good saying go to the shop, but I am disabled and have to isolate until new year as I am having an operation so can't just go out.

I’ve heard it said that there are some places, called, I think, shops. Apparently you can rock up to, completely unannounced, pick whatever you like from the shelves, and take it home with you the very same day. Maybe see if you could find one such establishment.

Not many left that actually carry stock!
