I have to work on Christmas Eve until 3pm.
I cannot find another roll of my favourite wrapping paper.
I don't know what I want for me under the Christmas tree.

What are your first world Christmas problems?

When I was 5 we moved three days before Christmas.. I don’t remember if we had the tree up in the old house, but I do remember being very insistent that it go up in the new one! So I’d say to the pp if you can even get something small (maybe pre-lit for ease?) it would probably make the dc very happy Xmas Grin

Agadorsparticus · 10/12/2021 12:45

Genius!! I love this.

Agadorsparticus · 10/12/2021 12:46

@NovemberNovemberDarkNights Genius idea. Duvet base it is 🎄😁

I've lost control of my Christmas goodies shopping.
I start buying in Octoberish and keep a spreadsheet listing everything I buy (sad, I know).
This year I swore I wouldn't buy as much as previous years but I have and I've also given up updating my spreadsheet so no longer have control over what I'm buying, just keep shoving stuff in the trolley.
We're still going to be eating chocolates/crisps/nuts etc next Easter 😳

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 10/12/2021 13:18

Can I add a new FWP?? I bought specific cards for specific people.. and then wrote them the wrong way round Xmas Blush they still work (it’s not like I wrote a dad card to granny) but darned it I actually made an effort with them this year!

LeftRightandCentre · 10/12/2021 13:50

DS1 is staying with us for a couple of nights over Christmas (starting Christmas Eve). I asked if there's anything he'd particularly like and he's requested Frosted Fancies. I can get them but not with decent use by dates. The best I've been able to find are use by 24th December ☹️
I'll keep searching.

lurkingfromhome · 10/12/2021 14:24

I actually think I might have bought too many chocolates Shock

Mercedes519 · 10/12/2021 14:58

I've just had a text from school to say that DC1 will at home next Friday because of staff shortages. I break up from work on THURSDAY and would have ONE day to myself. But NO. The Universe does not want that to happen...grrrrr

Largethighsbadeyes · 10/12/2021 15:11

My child has some lovely presents but they're not going to fill his (admittedly huge) Christmas stocking and leave enough left over to have some arranged artfully at the base of the stocking. Currently considering wrapping small gifts in large boxes so it looks like they have more and looks nicer

maxineputyourredshoeson · 10/12/2021 15:13

I asked DH to pick up a box of shortbread for our next door neighbours for Christmas. He came back with a tin of biscuits not normally a problem but my Christmas addled brain has converted into the worlds biggest problem, they obviously rely on us for their Christmas shortbread because that’s what we get them every year Xmas Blush

I had to cancel my trip to S Africa. No Christmas bbq on the beach with my family Xmas Sad. So now I’m in a right sulky mood. I have to butter a tree and get the decorations out but I don’t want to! I’m also refusing to have a turkey or any roast lunch on Christmas Day. We’ll probably get a kebab and bottles of wine.

PickAndChooseMe · 10/12/2021 15:18

Butter?? Buy a tree!

GonnaBeYoniThisChristmas · 10/12/2021 15:19

@PickAndChooseMe - sorry to hear about your holiday but you really don’t need to butter your tree. Although I love excessive Christmas luxury cooking, that is not necessary. Xx

Today's first world Christmas problem - I am meant to be going out tomorrow for Christmas activities, but I just don't want to, I want to stop in in my snuggly jumper and read a book.

3 of us at work have been sent booze gifts from an overseas supplier and we're being charged £12 per gift to release them from customs Grin

CrimbleCrumble1 · 10/12/2021 15:44

I’ve wrapped my presents in different gold papers forgetting that this week I’m having my lounge decorated in silvery grey tones.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 10/12/2021 15:52

I can't find nice wrapping paper for either!! M&S and John Lewis both meh

Spottybotty20 · 10/12/2021 16:36

I’ve asked for some pyjamas but changed my mind on them and found another pair I would prefer. Apparently they are already wrapped so I’m not allowed to swap them even though I’ve offered to return and buy the new ones myself Hmm

Featherhands · 10/12/2021 16:45

I've got to kill, pluck and hang 28 turkeys tomorrow and one of them is called Tracey.

Beat that if you can..........

AliceMcK · 10/12/2021 17:32

Hotel we’ve booked between Christmas and NY are not getting back to me regarding dinner and activity bookings. All we want to do is hibernate in the hotel for 3 days and enjoy the pool and kids activities, it’s why we booked this hotel. I booked over 6 months ago. They don’t have an online booking system.

Omg I remember having to help pluck all the birds in my dads butchers shop at Christmas when I was a kid. Thankfully I didn’t have to kill them. I think it’s why my brother turned veggie.
