Out today. It’s already on the my John Lewis App. I quite liked it. Nice and gentle.

It’s on during the adverts for Pride of Britain at 8.15.

I totally agree with this.

I quite liked the ad and the song. I just wish they hadn't kissed and instead she'd been invited in to have Christmas dinner with the family..... maybe she could have seen the family hugging each other and hugged him at the end when he gave her the present. I liked that she had a star shaped spaceship and became the star on top of the Christmas tree at the end.

It didn't really do much for me.

However, I don't think there was anything untoward in it- I assumed the boy and the alien girl were the same sort of age- in real life teen girls are much older looking than the boys and she wasn't at all androgynous, she was clearly a girl!

Well that song always makes me well up (just why??). The little bit and his sister (the look she gives him was cracking) were cute but the alien was just... odd

I did see about 2 mins of the lord or Britain awards (the little girl who has lost her limbs - oh my goodness) but switched over their the 2 dimwits from daytime tv came on.

Advertising is such a crock of shit. Xmas advertising always makes me want to vomit

Doesn't make me want to go out and spend my cash at john lewis over one of their competitors

I think it captures the pain of a first crush quite well.
I think this encapsulates the feel of the advert perfectly.

I’ve just spent the last half hour watching Christmas ads on You Tube, I do like the Boots Mary Poppins advert but I’d have preferred it if the Mary Poppins character was an unknown actor.

DH and I have a row every year over what is the best JL Christmas advert, until 2019 my favourite was the Snowman advert and his was Bear and Hare.
My fave is now Edgar and DH still thinks that Bear and Hare is better.
HE IS WRONG 😂 😂 😂
