Out today. It’s already on the my John Lewis App. I quite liked it. Nice and gentle.

It’s on during the adverts for Pride of Britain at 8.15.

JL developing their branding.
Common themes from the one baned for being focused on the social message rather than legal obligation to be truthful.

Children as sexual beings.
The colours associated with the alien.
Active boy v Passive girl.
Zero parental supervision.

I loved the idea of going off into the woods to meet a stranger, and making a new family connection by watching movies on electronics.🤳

Sweet ad

Bit rubbish, much prefer the ones with animals (Bear and the Hare, Monty and Mabel etc)

Well, I had low expectations after the boy in the dress advert. It was OK, loved the Electric Dreams song and thought it was quite sweet but was a bit at the kissing bit..... just unecessary imo.

It's boring. Not up to the usual JL standards. Let's see who has the best ad this year.

I like it! It reminds me of ET!

It has elements of the Home Alone 2 scenes with the bird lady in the woods, bobble hat etc.

Only it's s horrid breathy ad. And, after their sexist, woke insurance ad, they've made another strange ad.

That kiss and the tagline are creepy.

First one I've enjoyed in a long time!

It was OK, saw a glimpse of the M&S one with Percy which may win with me anyway.

I couldn't read the tagline on my little phone, am I missing out? #FOMO

I like electric dreams, but the ad was tryhard, didn't have any christmassy vibes, and the girl was much too old for the boy

What was in the advert that they can monopolise on? What are they selling that will suck us in? Like those woodland animals a few years ago.

What ever you make of the advert itself, this will be the making of the young singer. Lola Young is not widely known yet but this will see her make her way up the charts.

It wasn’t awful but why can’t boy help girl alien without having kiss at the end? Especially when he like about 13 and she about 17 just creepy!

I am really sick of their ads being soundtracked by sadsack cover versions of decent songs. At least its not Lily Allen I supose

I love that song but it’s a slow sad version...ad was ok ...would prefer something bit more cheerful ...their insurance ad was a massive fail

I thought it was mediocre. It didn't give me the feels.

Music was unoriginal. It's a dull formula now - get a girl to sing a slowed down, sad version of something popular and energetic.

Didn't much like the ad but I might be biased. Haven't forgiven them for their insurance advert yet.

Lots of forest animal tree decs, family xmas jumper, table and dinner sets. Most of which are currently out of stock!

A bit nothings and not very Christmassy. They should just show this one every year.

I much prefer the Electric Dreams cover used in the Strongbow ad - so much more joyful.
