If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Struggling for ideas for my 6 nearly 7 year old daughter who has only asked for books and says she doesn’t need anything! I was considering a childrens fitbit or similar, I know I’ve seen some recommended on here before but didn’t really take much notice!
Thanks in advance for any help Smile

Puffalicious · 04/11/2021 10:16

Just nipped on to get Lego Architecture New York and it's up at £36.99. Bah! They change so fast!Hmm

Tinysnickers · 04/11/2021 10:20

Yikes I've missed a whole thread! And thanks to the distraction of covid in the house I've bought nothing except 2 stocking fillers so far

Speed track looks really fun - when I was a child my grandparents had something really similar to this that had belonged to my uncle as a child. We use to love sending the cars down the stairs on it Confused
Would my 8yo be too old for it now....

Wine selections - i was given a box of reds from the sunday times wine club last year, and every single one was a really nice wine. I was really impressed, and so was OH who is a bit picky about wine.

Just seen on fb that glossybox are doing BOGOF with code FREEBOX might be good as stocking fillers. Probably a subscription though so will need to remember to cancel.

Tinysnickers · 04/11/2021 10:23

@mummymilkfloat
How about vouchers for activities eg ice skating, trampoline park, cinema trip, cafe with hot chocolate and cake. I am slowly coming to the realisation that there's little point in getting more 'stuff' if they don't need or want it, it just makes clutter.

Tightsonmyboat · 04/11/2021 10:23

@Tinysnickers there are quite a few children in my family, ranging from 2-11 and they have all enjoyed it. Big kids (DH) enjoy it too!

mummymilkfloat · 04/11/2021 10:30

@Tinysnickers I think you’re probably right, it’s just her little brother is getting a few bulkier things like a paw patroller so I would like a few things to wrap up but maybe I could just do vouchers in boxes or something. I do have tickets for a show in January I could do something with.
We are definitely trying to buy less this year especially plastic and most of my youngests “new” toys I’ve just got from eBay or Facebook.
Thank you for the reminder!

Could I be cheeky and ask if anyone has an Argos code? Or knows if there's a way to get discount at Curry's? I'm after a Galaxy tablet but it appears to be the same price everywhere!

torthecatlady · 04/11/2021 10:38

RE M&S Sparks... the only voucher I have is still the 6 month lifestyle membership Hmm

thaegumathteth · 04/11/2021 10:43

Don't suppose anyone has any discount codes for JD sports, ds wants the scotland shirt and it's £65 😱 so anything I can save would be greatly appreciated!

sycamorescrumptious · 04/11/2021 10:50

Please could someone explain the fire sticks to me? I just don't understand them!

Do they need to be linked to prime or have a subscription cost? Or is it a one off purchase? And what do they give you?

I don't understand technology Blush but feel like these could be useful for kids rooms maybe?

Alternatively there is a link on the referrals thread giving a £5 coupon off. Don’t think they can be combined though. I used this company for book sets now The Book People are now longer.
Methenyouplus4 · 04/11/2021 11:42

Roblox slippers??? It's the only thing my 8 year old has asked for, but I can't find a pair anywhere. He's size 1 or 2.

I'm also a bit unsure as he never wears slippers, so slipper socks/thick socks might be better?

If anyone spots any, please give me a nudge please as google/Amazon is proving fruitless.

CatOfTheLand · 04/11/2021 11:53

@Scrambledbeans

Hi, does anyone have any ideas for a wow present for a 6 year old girl? She’s quite young for her age but doesn’t seem to be in to anything specific. She is autistic and role playing toys (dolls, playmobil, Lego etc) don’t seem to hold her attention.

Her younger sister (3) is getting a dolly and pram etc which will look substantial and I’m at a bit of a loss.

Budget £100 max?

This is what my four year old would like if it's any help?

Leapfrog ice cream cart
Wooden birthday cake / pizza / ice cream
Desk, chair and drawing things
Dressing / vanity table
Room redecorated
Little armchair
A pet guinea pig 🙄🙄
A hamper of special bubble bath and shower stuff
Movie night hamper with popcorn boxes

Puffalicious · 04/11/2021 11:57

Gingerfox me too!

Lovemusic33 · 04/11/2021 12:20

Managed to get a wooden toy set (car transporter truck) for the 18 month old on my list, also got him a noisy book for £2.99.

Gutted I missed out on the Lego architecture set whilst I was gone, dd2 would have loved one.

Lovemusic33 · 04/11/2021 12:23

CatOfTheLand

Have you bought a wooden cake set? The ones in Aldi look really good, they have a rainbow cake and a couple of others.
