If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Thank you to the poster who spotted this Playmobil at Argos half price garage £25
Still on offer for the same price, large box, really happy with it and I'm sure my son will be too, although I think I'm putting it away for next Christmas 🙈 as there are alot of small pieces.

@tabbycat985 perfect thank you so much

StopGoQuitStart · 01/11/2021 09:37

Thanks for the new thread.

Can anyone recommend wireless over ear headphones for a 8yr old - more for music and audio books than gaming.

On similar note any ideas on HOW dc can listen to music and audiobooks in their room but without screen ie I don’t want him having screen/internet access as like to limit/supervise this but would like him to feeely listen to books music whenever he chooses -when he wakes stupidly early on weekend I looked at yoto but they are expensive for me. DH suggested Alexa but not sure I like idea of that in his room and wasn’t sure that could be used with headphones? Amazon Kids+ subscription could work though but not sure what they actually do book wise.
Sorry to be a pain but I’m struggling with tech these days. I remember feeling I was bees knees when I got a personal cassette player so clearly old Confused

Room4onemore · 01/11/2021 09:40

Checking in, now Halloween is over it’s full on Christmas mode, I need to finish getting baby things as well as I’m due December 10th and it’s getting closer

sorryiasked · 01/11/2021 09:41

@mummyof2boys30 goodwood tickets on sale

Dolphintrainer · 01/11/2021 09:46

@ Justyou yes I can recommend it. When I ordered it last Christmas I was in two minds due to some poor reviews, but it has worked really well for us and my 2 play it often. For Amazon’s price today, it’s a no brainier in my opinion.

Changingagain · 01/11/2021 09:47

@clpsmum for younger kids, the Gruffalo cookbook is great. A good selection of food that kids want to make that are actually doable with little ones apart from the blasted graffalo cake which ds always wants but I know would look absolutely nothing like the picture

Dolphintrainer · 01/11/2021 09:47

@Justyou my previous message was for you

Justyou · 01/11/2021 09:55

Boots have released all their Black Friday deals today. Lots of bargains online

2319inprogress · 01/11/2021 10:06

StopGoQuitStart mine have ancient mini iPad/itouch that are totally locked down so pretty much all they can use are Amazon music/podcasts/audiobooks/camera.

TheGirlWhoLived · 01/11/2021 10:20

It could be account specific but Amazon is offering me £5 off a £15 spend on Amazon products (needed a couple of cd’s so these were included!) just need to find the promo on the home page and click to redeem

ThePurpleGirl · 01/11/2021 10:22

So lovely to see so much kindness on the last thread of people offering to post things. It's actually given me the confidence to ask if there's a kind mumsnetter in Aberystwyth who might be able to collect something from Argos for me and post it (I will obviously pay!)? Aberystwyth was the only store in the whole country with stock of something I was desperate for so I reserved it in the hope one of my friends might have friends or family there who could collect it for me, but I've drawn a blank and now only have until tomorrow to collect it and it is far too many miles from here Sad.

@Justyou

Has anyone got Pictionary Air & can confirm it’s a good buy? I’ve ordered then realised the reviews are pretty rubbish

We bought it last year and it was a hoot. Especially watching back the videos afterwards of people drawing in the air. It is best mirrored to the TV though from a device and not everyone has a TV that can do that. I think that's where the bad reviews come from as it can be frustrating trying to set that up and then realising you don't have the means to do it.

ThePoliceOfficer · 01/11/2021 10:26

I know tastes vary but what items are on your own wish lists? I’ve got almost everything for the kiddos now, hubby buys for himself and I just wrap it (😅) but realising there’s nothing I particularly want/need. I usually love Christmas but just not feeling it yet

Ourlady · 01/11/2021 10:30

@AnotherOne4

(Sorry not a bargain) but to who-ever was thinking/purchased the 3D Printer for their son. I've got mine up and running, and I LOVE IT.

First two weeks were a nightmare, I could have easily thrown it out the window numerous times. Bed Levelling is just beyond stressful!

There are a few little extras you will find useful. I purchased some ]] and going out today to get a ]].

@AnotherOne4, thank you very much for the feedback. It's great to hear you like it so much. I've been reading about something called a bltouch which is some sort of self levelling techie thingy so I think I might get one to make things easier.

There was a really good thread on AIBU a few months ago where people talked about their best buys which gave me ideas for things I might want. So far my wish list includes:

Make Up bags that lie flat - theflatlayco.com/

Gaston Luga backpack - gastonluga.com/gb/praper-navy-brown

Suffragette colours scarf - theministryoftartan.co.uk/product/other-suffragette-tartan-scarf/

Also Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate sachets for the Velvetiser I got last year and Mermaid Pink Gin - www.amazon.co.uk/Isle-Wight-Distillery-Mermaid-Pink/dp/B07VGFQ3MK?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Fuckingfuckssake · 01/11/2021 10:39

I'm hoping to send @22giraffes her squishmallow today via myHermes, has anyone a student code to bring down the costs please? I've got a latte left and another cinnamon bun if that helps anyone, shout this morning as I'll be heading out this afternoon.

BestofLuck · 01/11/2021 10:45

@clpsmum Tilly Ramsey has a good cookbook for preteens. If the child in question likes Strictly then all the better!
