If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

[quote wavingwhilstdrowning]Boring bargain ahoy! Lloyds Chemists have a Black Friday sale with big savings on heat pads. The cushion - reduced from £69.99 to £28 is lovely, I have one at work and have ordered one for my daughter.

Thanks for this! Bought two of the giant hot water bottle shaped pads for my DDs.

Justonedayatatime11 · 01/11/2021 23:28

@Daisy829 I don't suppose you have a spare one left do you?

MooPointCowsOpinion · 01/11/2021 23:28

Hey all! Love the thread as always!
I’m after a present for my 7 year old: a way for her to play music in a her bedroom that doesn’t involve putting the entire internet in there (I.e. NO Alexa or a smart phone!)
CD player would be the obvious choice in the past but CDs don’t really exist anymore…!

Lightswitch123 · 01/11/2021 23:31

Great thread

1stTimeMama · 01/11/2021 23:32

Huge thanks to @Adelais for the latch board! I had this in my WHSmith basket for my toddler, ready to checkout just when the stacking codes of joy were cancelled. This is pretty much the same price I think, if not a bit better.
If anyone sees the Melissa & Doug cube shape sorter for good price too, that was one of the other things I missed out on, I'd appreciate a heads up 😊

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 01/11/2021 23:33

@MooPointCowsOpinion CDs exist. I can't think of anything other than that if you're avoiding the internet.

thaegumathteth · 01/11/2021 23:33

@CarrieMoonbeams

Evening all! I'm hoping that those of you with DC between the ages of 9 to 12yo might be able to help me please.

I'm buying a gift for a boy and a girl for a local charity. My budget is around £30 in total.

Pyjamas, books, jigsaws and some sweets are specifically mentioned (not as a 'rigid' list, but just suggested for people like me who haven't a clue!)

I'll buy a pair of pyjamas each from M&S, it's 2 pairs for £15. Would anyone be able to recommend a nice book for a boy and/or girl within my budget please?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe something by Tom Fletcher / David Baddiel/ David Walliams or something like The Ickanog, the Tree / The Recruit / How to be Brave / Marcus Rashford book

Also if you need anything else to go in then fidget toys with this age group are a HUGE craze .

Exhaustedyetstillgoing · 01/11/2021 23:40

I feel the need to ask .... Harry Potter hoodies? Do I need oneBlush

And am horrified as have completely missed thread 15 we're moving so quickly this year!

AlexinMotherland · 01/11/2021 23:40

Another huge thanks to @Minionbums I managed to stack the codes with the 10% abandoned basket code they send for a massive discount, just hope they don’t cancel my order now Grin

CarrieMoonbeams · 01/11/2021 23:58

@NigelSlatersXmasTaters, @Rockhopper81, @DockOTheBay and @thaegumathteth, thank you so much for your suggestions.

I don't have DC myself so it's fair to say that I'm pretty clueless!

I've written down all of your suggestions and will have fun choosing some things. I'm quite happy to go a bit over budget so I'm sure I'll be able to get pyjamas, a book, maybe a game, some sweeties and a fidget toy each.

Thanks again, I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

Puffalicious · 01/11/2021 23:59

Entire WHSmith order now arrived. All present and correct and only in 2 packages. Delighted.

Oldmrswasherwoman · 02/11/2021 00:01

@MooPointCowsOpinion we bought DD at a similar age a disco light with an SD card slot and we loaded the SD card up with music - we knew what she was listening too and couldn't accidentally listen to anything dodgy on spotify. I can't find a link but various types available on amazon.

Do they still make mp3 players or ipods which aren't phones? Mp3 player and a Bluetooth speaker would work, and then it would just be connected to the home computer to update the music and disconnected again.
thaegumathteth · 02/11/2021 00:33

Just a heads up that my heritage of Scotland order arrived missing 3 things despite being on the packing slip inside - I've messaged them to ask for money to be refunded.

Typically today I've realised that HYPE50 code would've been perfect for a t shirt and lunch box for dd. If anyone sees another similar deal please shout?

Karatechopp · 02/11/2021 03:00

Does anyone know what time £10 Tuesday at Boots goes live? There's a lovely urban decay palette on there for my dd

Karatechopp · 02/11/2021 03:32

@Minionbums thank you! Another present off the list!

WisestIsShe · 02/11/2021 06:10

Just had a CCC alert for the board game Pandemic for £19.96 at Amazon . It's often recommended on here.
Not the cheapest price ever but looks a good reduction.

Not as cheap as last years bargain hand puppets but Amazon have the Melissa and Doug farm puppets for £11.99 down from £18.49

Deal of the day: Melissa & Doug Farm Hands Animal Puppets | Puppets & Theaters | Soft Toy | 2+ | Gift for Boy or Girl https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TO6FJYS/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcdllCKMRV8A9VCCH27MAPXJR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Someaddedsugar · 02/11/2021 06:32

Thanks @Minionbums! Secret Santa for DSIL sorted. Fingers crossed she’ll like the earrings I’ve picked!

JanuaryEl5ieBill · 02/11/2021 06:34

Joules Wash Bag is probably my favourite thing on the Boots Tenner Tuesday deal.

Also noticed you get a free, small bottle of hand sanitiser with it. Made me chuckle thinking of when they were going for extortionate prices 18 months ago! Now they're being given away.
