If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@TeresaMayspants Frily Lily do princess type ones that can go in the wash, but aren't Disney. They do some small ones to match for dolls or teddies and tiny school uniforms too.

Changingagain · 06/09/2021 07:53

Just seen this on a fb group, thought it may be useful to some on here. It's at least reminded me to only buy bargains at this stage and not panic to get everything sorted, they'll be plenty more sales and bargains before the big day.

I do agree @Changingagain but bear in mind that there is likely to be a toy shortage as we get further into autumn. There are many supply chain issues this year which will begin to impact soon, so if there are good prices on must have gifts I would definitely encourage people to get them ticked off the list.

makingmiracles · 06/09/2021 08:15

I second both tu and tkmax for dressing up. For girls especially the dresses at tkmaxx are unbranded but more premium quality. Dd has an Elsa/Cinderella style one from there, hooped with a fur edged cape and she loves it so much, it was £25 but compared to Disney’s premium costs at £60+ it’s fab.

HoHoLow · 06/09/2021 08:22

Has anyone see any good prices on the Lego ocean sets (like the base station) or indeed in the trains or Jurassic world Lego. Not sure if ever reduced or where might do any discounts just now. TIA

Ps I also love thread just as it is. I’ve been using for years (frequent name changer) and it really makes me feel Christmassy and gives me good ideas. I think last year solution of putting bargains in bold was working well x

HoHoLow · 06/09/2021 08:22

Excuse the x Blush

SpamIAm · 06/09/2021 08:27

@TeresaMayspants I'd stick with supermarkets or other real-life shops (or their online stores) rather than eBay and the like - you just don't know what quality you're going to get. We've had some from Tesco and Sainsbury's. Must say, I'm particularly impressed with the quality of the Sainsbury's one! Is there a particular princess you're after?

Changingagain · 06/09/2021 08:28

That's a good point SIHastingsLiketheBattle getting any must haves while cheap is probably a good idea. I tend to go a bit over the top with stocking fillers and bits that I see and think people will like at this stage though, then quite often see things that would have been more suitable later on.

recklessgran · 06/09/2021 08:31

@Tinysnickers I've just checked and I paid £7.95 for Skyjo off the back of this thread back in November 2019 if that helps.
@Reastie I'm another one that loves the chat/ideas/help on here and have loved helping and being helped over the years. Please leave things as they are - it's been working fantastically for a long time now. The happiest, friendliest place on mumsnet.

Whydidimarryhim · 06/09/2021 08:38

@cymrumam

Anyone able to provide suggestions for a paddleboard for a 17 Yr old novice.i know that she will also need a life jacket and wetsuit
I bought mine from Go Outdoors, it's a Hydro Force one that's not in stock at the moment priced £249 down from £399 (or so they claim), but it seems to sell pretty fast when it's in stock. So you could kee an eye out for that one and there is this one on at the moment.

Also the Range have some, don't know what they are like for quality though.

@5Minions2CallMyOwn

Does anyone know of a code that will work for The Entertainer please? Thank you!
If you sign up to the birthday club on their website they will send you a code for 20% off 3 weeks before the date. I have prob got a birthday code that I could PM you but I have a feeling this may be linked to my email/ account as they are individual codes….
Pottery Barn Kids have a sale on, the site is being a bit glitchy for me, but I would totally buy these cute llamas if I had someone to give them to! They look so soft

Set of llama plushes reduced to £19.95, EXTRA15OFF gives 15% of all clearance

www.potterybarnkids.co.uk/llama-plush-collection
Oh wow! I had no idea that you could buy Pottery Barn in the UK. Thanks for posting.

That llama is gorgeous & I love llamas. My DS doesn't really like stuffed animals that much though 😟

Shipping is a bit pricy too with lowest at £12.00 & going up from there (no free delivery, the more you spend the more the shipping 👎🏻)

SuddenlySusan · 06/09/2021 09:26

I look forward to these threads each year since I found them around four years ago. I love the chat, feel like I’ve found my people too!

I’ve not posted many bargains this year, if any, but there doesn’t seem to be that many about that others haven’t already shared.

I’m usually super organised, but this year I want to be done as soon as possible. We are also not going too much on presents as the kids get too much anyway - plus they’re only just playing with that they got last year.

I’ve bought tickets for the theatre, days out and will be buying a zoo season ticket to finish them off, but usually reductions on Black Friday for these.

I bought these last year, or maybe the year before, in the sale and the quality is fab!

**Spider kids slippers Joules - They have limited sizes, but I’ve bought two more pairs for my kids for either this year or next, depending on how their feet grow!

mumonthehill · 06/09/2021 09:26

For paddle boards try SportPursuit, just bought one in the sale for £249 down from £500. We also had one in the two bare feet sale last November.

5Minions2CallMyOwn · 06/09/2021 09:32

@LostMyRubySlippers Thanks so much! I’ll sign up now Smile

Brogues · 06/09/2021 09:38

@SuddenlySusan just bought those slippers and came to post about them Grin

Twilightstarbright · 06/09/2021 09:39

@HoHoLow someone posted a John Lewis offer, if you sign up to their free loyalty scheme there’s 15/20% off Lego if you spend a certain amount.

@PinkDaydreams that’s exactly why I sold our Lanka kade animals, our schleich animals are used in the bath or tuff tray almost daily and are far more resilient than wood (as lovely as they are).

NaraDeer · 06/09/2021 09:39

Thank you for all the great bargains so far!
DDs birthday is 8 days before Christmas so this thread is a lifesaver.

If anyone sees any Squishmallow bargains, or recommendations for sites that sell harder to find ones, I’d be so grateful for a heads up as it’s pretty much all she wants this year.

Wolfcub · 06/09/2021 09:41

Buildverse have 20% off today with code Labor

Wolfcub · 06/09/2021 10:00

The Labor code works on sale items and postage is free
@cymrumam we got our paddle boards from decathlon. No experts but hubby likes to do his research before he buys and these have been great for 3 years now. Go by the weight of the paddle boarder. Don’t forget you need a pump (ideally electric)/paddle/bouyancy aid ‘wetsuit outlet’ often has some good price reductions on quality stuff
Thank you its an absolute minefield and it's a lot of money to get it wron6

SuddenlySusan · 06/09/2021 10:14

@Brogues I know. The fact they must be about 2 years old this Christmas, they still look fab and my kid wants to wear them.

To the poster who suggested the big box of balloons wrapped up, I’m so doing this. Will get some helium ones too! It’s hard buying for a 2 year old, but I think he will love this, especially if I can get some Christmas balloons too.

2020isoverthankgoodness · 06/09/2021 10:18

If anyone is thinking about crocheting or knitting things for Christmas presents, they might be interested in the Deramores Cheap Frills Bundles. It’s 12 balls of yarn for £8. You’ve no idea what you’re going to get, but could be part of the fun.

I’ve bought them in the past, when they were 10 balls for £6, and they were all in useable condition. If you really could not think what to do with some of them you could donate those to charity and someone else might.

Postage free over £28, 5% off if you buy 5 bundles, 10% off if you buy more than 10.

Currently you can use B2S20 to get 20% off some things on the site, but it doesn’t work with these bundles.

I got the Lego Submarine for £12 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago, so it's worth watching to see if it drops again.
