If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@superstar84 ours had a full wall of single Christmas cards and a small range of roll wrap, gift bags and ribbons etc but not the full selection yet

TheCrow · 04/09/2021 18:26

Home Bargains had these Ralph Breaks the Internet blind boxes and Fortnite funko keyrings (but only one design) for 99p each

Also The Range had 50% off the marked price of all clothing including accessories so I got a nice winter patterned dressing gown for DD for £2.50. Didn't really have time to look properly but a lady ahead of me had a trolley full so I'm guessing there's some bargains to be had!

Sadly it's gone. It was a lightening deal.

Pleasekeeptotheright · 04/09/2021 19:06

There's a beer brewing kit on snaffling pig down from £50 to £7.50 too.

And 5.1% cashback on TCB

Wolfcub · 04/09/2021 19:17

Thanks for the snarling pig beer tip. That's perfect for a mate's birthday. Just hope things have a decent date on them

bookish83 · 04/09/2021 19:24

@Fred56

Can anyone remember which shop normally does a discount on nice jute bags? Mentioned in previous years, I think it's seasalt but couldn't see any on their site. Found a couple discounted at whistlefish but wanted to compare.
Have a look on ebay. I got a BNWT one not long ago
TheCrow · 04/09/2021 19:30

Worth noting that the Snaffling Pig brewing kit only has the ingredients and none of the equipment needed. Sorry if this is really obvious but I almost rushed to buy it before seeing the small print at the bottom 🤦‍♀️

Wolfcub · 04/09/2021 19:30

He has the equipment

TheCrow · 04/09/2021 19:39

@Wolfcub comment not directed at you specifically sorry, just a word of warning for anyone else like me who rushed for the bargain without thinking it through properly 😅

happytobemrsg · 04/09/2021 19:39

@Bellyfat do you know what advent you got from Superdrug?

Thanks for the dinosaur Lego tip off - I’ve bought for my nephew.

I was doing the online food shop & saw this 4 tub of play doh, cool colours, £2.50 down from £3.50 if you have a clubcard

Me too. Then backed off!
mumonthehill · 04/09/2021 19:48

@TheCrow thanks for snaffling pig!! Bought and we do have the equipment, DH will love it!

TheCrow · 04/09/2021 19:51

Last one from me today- Claire's had up to 75% off today, couldn't see anything hugely bargainous but a few hair bits for £1. Does anyone know if it'll go to the 5 for £10 sale soon?

Dolphintrainer · 04/09/2021 19:57

Bubble T Cosmetics sell lovely bath and shower products, especially bath bombs etc particularly coveted by tween and early teen girls. They have 20% of all orders with code TAKE20 with free delivery over £20.

For those who have brewing equipment, what would be needed please to use this kit? Hubbie used to do a lot of brewing but sold all his stuff. However, he does keep saying he would like to start again. Just thinking, I could buy the set and the brewing equipment but not sure what's needed!!

CarrieMoonbeams · 04/09/2021 20:14

@Twonka, thanks, that looks brilliant. I like to buy a decent present for my lovely next door neighbours, who buy (and individually wrap) presents for my 6 dogs and 4 cats!

I haven't told them yet that I'm probably just about to take on 2 rescued snakes - goodness knows what they'd buy for them!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/09/2021 20:21

@Pleasekeeptotheright

A lot of the things I'm seeing here this year aren't bargains at all. Of course the stag place names and the Blokus are fab and are the type of things that should be snapped up.

I'm in no way being a grumpy thread police type but it's worth bearing in mind that if you're on a budget early shopping is only good if you keep it under control.

Stick with the threads (which I feel are earlier this year too. No complaints from me but worth bearing in mind) and true bargains will appear. But there's no rush.

Don't panic buy. Especially £55 advent calendars from MLMs! Just no, don't do it!

I havent rushed to buy as much this year. Im trying to be much more selective with 'bargains' so many times I get carried away then end up taking it all to the charity shop a few months after Christmas. Sticking firmly to my list this year. Ps4 games for dd1 (we are wrapping up DH ps4 for her), hair dressing head for dd2. Then some little bits to open and stocking fillers. (So looking for anime/horror themed for dd1 and llama/lol/doll themed for dd2)

Dd1 does have an expensive advent calendar each year as her birthday is in November. She has the funko one which is around £50 but she displays the figures afterwards. Its her main birthday gift usually.

dizzygirl1 · 04/09/2021 20:28

Thank you for the vitamin tip (cannot remember who, sorry)
I loaded it this morning, tried it online no issues but as I was going to the shops thought I'd do it then, didn't work in store! So Ive come home and ordered online 😊 3 months worth of vitamins for me and the 2 teens 😊

Jfw82 · 04/09/2021 20:30

Wanting recommendations on bath bombs. I had great recommendations from this thread before but need something a bit more for my 3 and 4yo - expectations set high after they were bought some ones that changed the water colour! Looking for a couple for stocking fillers at least...

Avoca76 · 04/09/2021 20:38

My kids love these www.amazon.co.uk/Mosteck-Rainbow-Moisturize-Birthday-Christmas/dp/B087CP5PLJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&crid=2UV1CDO52BXDX&keywords=rainbow+bath+bombs&sprefix=rainbow+bath+b&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1630784093&sr=8-9 They don’t have faces on like in the picture but they make a really good rainbow in the bath. We’ve had them a few times and they are always impressed by them.

Avoca76 · 04/09/2021 20:39

Above link was for @Jfw82

dementedma · 04/09/2021 20:47

Intrigued by all the Advent calendar chat. This really seems to be a thing now. My( grown up) DCs still have to make do with opening advent calendar windows to reveal a picture of a star or a candle! Mind you, this type of calendar is getting increasingly harder to find!

Yeknom · 04/09/2021 20:50

Just bought those bath bombs @Avoca76 🙈 something I didn't know I needed! 🤣

I'm thinking of getting my kids some kind of wireless microphone (which might also mean earplugs for me!), does any one have any recommendations, there are what feels like millions on Amazon. It'll just be for silliness, dancing to alexa/YouTube etc

Wolfcub · 04/09/2021 20:52

Demented, John Lewis and Fenwicks have loads of picture only advent calendars

I got one in a Christmas shop in Berlin the other year!
