Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Shufflebumnessie I can thoroughly recommend Lisa Angel, I’ve got 3 personalised necklaces from there and love them all.

@Reastie The White Company’s “winter” oil as mentioned by PPs is beautiful and lasts forever. I think mine is 5 or 6 years old and still going strong even after DD managed to drink some a while back 🙄 I use it with some water in an oil burner or drop a few drops onto a kitchen towel/microfibre cloth and pop it on a radiator.

Typo have 30/ off new stock and up to 70/ off sale stock today. My teen loves their stuff.

BigGreen · 18/08/2021 09:12

I'm on the lookout for cashmere gloves and scarves if anybody spots a good deal Smile

mogtheexcellent · 18/08/2021 09:16

@BigGreen theres a sale on at turtle doves. Recycled cashmere. I have several pairs of their fingerless gloves. You can ask for certain colours in the comments box.

ChristmasMad · 18/08/2021 09:19

Dunelm have oversized hoodies for £16. Lovely tie dies - one pastel, one blues. Would suit teens/adults.

Reastie · 18/08/2021 09:26

Thanks so much for the white company and neom recommendation. I have the neom diffuser and oils (birthday present from dh) and whilst I love the diffuser; the oils have been a bit of a disappointment, but maybe that’s just me.

I can recommend Turtle Doves, got some for my grandad and he loves them! www.turtle-doves.co.uk/collections/20-aug-21/fingerless-gloves
FireflyGirl · 18/08/2021 09:35

I didn't know White Company did their Winter fragrance as an oil! That is the smell of Christmas in our house, as I love it. Usually buy a diffuser, but will be getting the oil instead this year! And it's half the price! Thanks yoshiblue and Claralane!

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2021 09:46

Have many people gone for the Turtle Dove seconds, lucky dip, option? They're quite the bargain, if they aren't too bad in relation to the defect.

FireflyGirl · 18/08/2021 09:48

Barbie Dreamtopia doll is £10.34 on Amazon. I'm a bit Hmm at the 'usual' price of £29.83; according to the camels the average price is around £15, so still a decent saving.

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 18/08/2021 09:48

Was just thinking of teachers presents.
For summer, I got DS teachers 'Mindfulness puzzle book' which seemed to go down really well. They were about £6 each at the time and I thought would be something different and they might enjoy going through it with a cuppa.

Just had a quick look on Amazon at some of the other books in the series and a couple are £2 today - Mindfulness Wordsearch, Mindfulness Crosswords and Mindfulness Sudoku.

PinkDaydreams · 18/08/2021 09:50

Don't forget Amazon warehouse. I bought a toy the other week that should have been £40, Amazon warehouse had it for £17.50!!!! It arrived and the only thing wrong was a ripped corner on the box which gets recycled anyway. The contents were brand new and unused so I was very pleased!Grin

On the flip side, I received a playdoh set a few months back that when I opened it was covered in carpet fluff and muck! Luckily Amazon were very good with the return, no problems at all!

If anyone does stockings for adult children, would also be a nice little thing to add in there too.

Marking my place. Thanks to all the contributors.

gizmosslave · 18/08/2021 09:59

Thanks for all the bargains so far!

SandwichDistraction · 18/08/2021 10:04

Photobox have 50% off across everything at the moment. I got my grandad a 1000 piece photo jigsaw with his great grandchildren on last Christmas and he absolutely loved it. The puzzle is made by Ravensburger so quality is good. So pleased I can get another one at half the price this year! They also have photo Uno cards, memory card game, normal playing cards and some other photo gifts.

Red banner at the top of the page gives code for 50% off.

WisestIsShe · 18/08/2021 10:14

@NoWordForFluffy I gave the second lucky dipa try and was very happy. Only one small hole, clearly marked with a sticker and 5 patches to choose from to fix it. Haven't got around to fixing it yet though.

Paperchase has 30% off online with the code SAVE30. It stacks with the 3 for 2 back to school offers.

Ends Wednesday 25 August.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2021 10:27

Oh, that's OK, isn't it, @WisestIsShe? I could easily fix that and still have them as a suitable gift. I think my mum would actually love the personal touch with my amendments too!

Thegirlhasnoname · 18/08/2021 10:29

10% off Turtles Doves with WELCOME3579 Works on sale items too.

DM has been on about them for a while and hopes they will help with Reynaulds. Here is hoping. If not, they look nice and a right bargain compared to usual price!

RIBlue · 18/08/2021 10:31

Sorry if this has already been discussed (I have had a quick scroll through!) but has anyone received their £5 dinosaur T-shirt yet? Not that I’m a rush obviously but just occurred to me that I haven’t had any sort of email from them, just PayPal confirmation.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2021 10:50

No to the dino t shirts. They did say it would be a while though, didn't they?

daisyboo1 · 18/08/2021 10:55

I emailed re my Dino tshirt order as I hadn't had a confirmation of order either. They were most apologetic - have had a huge demand! They said they are working their way through them though and will email upon despatch.

Mine arrived in the post yesterday! It's lovely. I had an email a day or 2 before to say it had been dispatched
