@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@BeautifulTulips I've never tried powder in my velvetiser but I have used Cadbury flake instead of hotel chocolat and it defo wasn't as good. I would buy the hotel chocolat one for you in a secret stash and never let the kids have it Grin

Is anyone able to recommend a company that creates jewellery that is personalised with your children's names/finger prints, or similar, please?
A family member has hinted that she'd like a necklace with her children's details on for Christmas. Thanks.

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/08/2021 23:17

Where on earth do you hide giant bean bag chairs??!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/08/2021 23:24

@Shufflebumnessie I have a necklace that is personalised with the names of my children. It was from Posh Totty Designs. I've just had a quick look at the website and I think it's offering a 10% discount if you sign up for their mailing list.

Slightly blurry photo attached 😀

@sideorderofchips - my dh loved his aeropress - uses ground coffee.

Build A Bear are offering £10 off a £30+ spend, not valid on certain ranges. See deal details taken from HotUKDeals site: www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/ps10-off-ps30-purchase-in-store-online-at-build-a-bear-workshop-3775579

@DoghairismyglitterI would try American Amazon too. One of DS's obsessions is only available in the states and while the postage is steep the toys are reasonable. It's not really worth spending money on other stuff because doesn't have any interest in it

Lots to choose from on Not on the High Street
HoHoJ0 · 18/08/2021 00:41

@BeautifulTulips I love my velvetiser! Husband did extensive research and suggested that we use it with Callebaut chocolate callets and it’s delicious. It works out cheaper than Hotel Chocolat however you do need to chop the chocolate callets for a couple of seconds with the food processor first. Apparently the alternative is to turn the velvetiser on and then add them while gradually once the milk is slightly warm. This stops them getting caught in the whisky bit.

Finally, lots of posters recommended Pendragon drinks as a good place to find hot chocolate but I was disappointed to find that the chocolate was mixed with granulated sugar.

Eeek. I can’t do links but the carrot cake traybake kits are on. £2.30 for 4 packs

Sideorderofchips · 18/08/2021 02:15

10 ponds 😂😂

StarDanced · 18/08/2021 05:37

@Shufflebumnessie I also have on from Posh Totty Designs and I love it. I got it recently and the service and delivery were great. I would highly recommend. They have some of their pieces on Not on the highstreet but a much bigger range on their website.

Elpheba · 18/08/2021 06:23

@Shufflebumnessie I had a lovely necklace made last year by a local mum to me. She was so helpful, kind & the necklace is beautiful. Handprint on one side and then used my DDs writing on the other side. Two pendants with personalisation both sides and the necklace itself came to £150 which I thought was good value. Plus small business so you can feel virtuous Smile

@Puffalicious - no need to join just google "voucher codes" and put Adidas in the search box - in any case it usually comes up with the top offers displayed on the page.

sorryiasked · 18/08/2021 07:12

Not exactly xmas but there is a banner ad on MN at the moment for moonpig - you can get a free thank you card (100's to choose from) and just pay postage of 85p.
Limited to one card per customer per day!

Can anyone recommend a Christmas smelling essential oil blend suitable for an electronic diffuser? Doesn’t have to be a cheapy, I’d rather it smelt rreeeaaaallllyyyyy nice and christmassy

@Shufflebumnessie I found Lisa Angel a lot cheaper (and still as beautiful) than posh totty designs for personalised jewellery. Definitely worth taking a look there too x

IggyAce · 18/08/2021 07:24

Code BTSKIN30 for 30% off at Vitamaques & spend over £30 for a free travel sized serum too. link
They have some fantastic beauty sheet masks, my teen loved the ones I got her last year and I was impressed too.

I have the White Company oils both Winter (smells like orange, cloves etc) and Fir Tree.

Not sure if they are essential oil or fragrance, but they are both high quality. Only need a few drops, less than the pure essential oils I use. Both gorgeous classy fragrances and worth £10 each. I think I only used a quarter of each bottle last year.

Beakerandbungle · 18/08/2021 08:00

@Reastie - neom do their Christmas candle scents as essential oils

Mummyoply · 18/08/2021 08:02

@Lemonsandlemonade my DS was 8months for his first Christmas and we got him a little ball pool with lots of brightly coloured balls which he loved!

Petal7 · 18/08/2021 08:12

@Reastie, I have the Neom diffuser and the Christmas fragrances are gorgeous. They are a few, so it's worth trying to pop and see which you prefer . They aren't cheap, but are so lovely.
