Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

Reastie · 16/08/2021 18:53

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thanks for the threads, Reastie, it feels great to be back again!

@Sideorderofchips

I'll bring my butt over here to ask again 😂

Need some ideas for a nice coffee gift for my boyfriend (yes for those who know me I've met someone ❤️)

I don't drink coffee so have no idea

This went down very well with my SIL the other year. It's also "brew in the bag" so you just open the bag and add hot water. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07YYC4QF7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

Batman imaginext set reduced to £15

@uktrippin oh thanks for this👍. Will check them out. I’m out shopping tomorrow, so will have a look. Love Home & Bargains. Thanks again x

flumposie · 17/08/2021 18:56

Sho are offering 50% off for key workers. They sell water bottles, flasks, reusable coffee cups. You can also have things personalised. They email you a code once you tell them which keyworker job you have via email ( to be honest they can't really check...) I've bought products in the past and can recommend them.

Just had this pop up on HUKD. It was £2.02, now about £2.47 so worth keeping an eye on. No idea what it's like but the popcorn always goes down well, might be good for hampers? Joe and Seph toffee sauce

Full adult size. I tested them out Wink

happytobemrsg · 17/08/2021 20:42

@Moonshine5

Tweet Beatz by John Adams (educational and recreational) for budding musicians. Currently on Amazon for £12.62 from £20. Super cool gift for both genders; used by 6 year old and 2 year old DN's
Just bought this, thanks for the heads up! Not heard of them before, but look fun. Not sure if it’s for my 5 or 2 year olds yet, either way I think they will fight over it!
hoopdeloop · 17/08/2021 20:46

It’s worth checking out your Asda aisles. I popped in tonight and they had half an aisle filled with heavily reduced toys. There was HP Lego, Lego friends etc. I’ve bought a few bits and when I’ve price compared with Amazon, there’s a good saving to be had

MrsPumpkinSeed · 17/08/2021 21:18

Thanks Hoop

@christmasssss thank s for this, will check them out👍
Mathscourses · 17/08/2021 21:43

After reading MN recommendations for them so long I finally gave in and ordered the Hotel Chocolat Velvitiser. They sent me a code for £35 off and free postage, which looked as if it was just for me as a VIP customer but Maharajah20 posted it on the last thread - VELV35KCFMICIT

If you do order one, you can add some Hotel Chocolat Sale items without paying postage. They are all short dated so not for Christmas presents, but it seemed a good time to try some half price Nutmilk Hot Chocolate for the Velvitiser and some Liquor Collection chocolates for £1.18 instead of £3.95.

happytobemrsg · 17/08/2021 21:53

I’m terrible at links but the play doh pizza oven & ice cream sets are on sale on Amazon. Just got them both for DS

If anyone sees a Ryan’s World Lost City Backpack (it’s a hard backpack with toys, binoculars, a torch etc in) pleaaaaase can you post it here?
My DS, 5, is DESPERATE for it and I can’t find it in stock anywhere, hoping it’s not just available in America or something 😫

sorryiasked · 17/08/2021 22:18

@Doghairismyglitter I think its only available in US - but Smyth's have the lost City Adventure chest?

ByThePool2021 · 17/08/2021 22:22

@Doghairismyglitter I have previously ordered from the US Amazon and they do deliver to the UK and delivery wasn’t shocking. It’s always worth a look on there

BeautifulTulips · 17/08/2021 22:27

A question for those of you have the Velvetiser please - Does it have to be used with the rather expensive hotel chocolat chocolate powder or are there any other alternatives? I'm just thinking that for the amount of hot chocolate the children drink every day it would work out very pricey! Would I be able to make a nice hot chocolate using instant hot chocolate powder or not?

recklessgran · 17/08/2021 22:27

On voucher codes you can get 30% off at ADIDAS including outlet. I think a few things are excluded but even so it's a great discount.
Codes are valid until September 30th.

The powdered hot chocolate would work great!
Puffalicious · 17/08/2021 22:45

Do I need to join voucher codes to get the ADIDAS code? 2 teens needing sportswear AGAIN!!!!

I use mine (Aldi dupe) with any choc powder and they're always lovely, also nice with chai latte powder
Toddlermum1990 · 17/08/2021 22:53

Thank you for the argos sale tip, just ordered some gifts now 😊
