Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

Reastie · 16/08/2021 18:53

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Emiliemoo thank you so much, I checked the BT shop as soon as I replied to your post, it was sold out, minutes only so the search continues lol that's if I have any money left after all the bargain hunting

nicky2512 · 17/08/2021 12:10

Lellyo I got Ds one of the Big Bertha bean bags last year. It’s a cord type fabric. It is great quality - we were very pleased with it.

Thanks @Nicky2512 I was looking at these earlier and wondering about quality. Thanks so much. Do you think it would be ok to be used as a gaming chair?

Oh no!! Sorry I couldn't help! My DH found a stock checker website that emailed him when Argos had it in stock. That's how we got it in the end...

PaolaDiLorenzo · 17/08/2021 13:47

I was in The Range this morning and lots of aisles were being cleared and there were pallets of singing Santa's waiting to go out.
Shouldn't be too long now Smile

nicky2512 · 17/08/2021 13:50

@Lellyo I would say so if you get the high back one. My Ds is 15 and a big lad and he uses it for watching tv, reading etc. It is bigger than I expected. It seemed a bit “overstuffed” at first but has definitely settled down.
I bought it last year later than this, maybe early October and it was on offer then at a similar price. They always seem to have offers and discounts.

How about a styling head that hair & beauty students would use for practice.[/quote]
Thank you I wouldnt have thought of that! Ive had a quick look on amazon and you can get ones with clamps for a table and a tripod for them. I think you may have just sorted my dds main Christmas gift 😁 paired with a box of hairstyling accessories she will be sorted and that should keep her busy for a while and give my hair a rest 🤣

Smile3 · 17/08/2021 14:06

Just filled my Amazon basket with various stuff! Thanks Grin

If anybody doesn't know about Stock Informer it is a brilliant way to get hard-to-find items.

@nicky2512 thanks so much for this, will definitely add this to DS list then 👍. Will keep my eyes on the website then x

Forgotten if you can bookmark on the browser so placemarking

beccarooney · 17/08/2021 15:37

Would anyone like to let me have their referral code for the Spicery please? There doesn't seem to be one on the referral thread. I'm planning to order the Mezze kit. Thanks to whoever posted about that :)

torthecatlady · 17/08/2021 15:46

@beccarooney I've inboxed you my referral code if you're still looking for one.

beccarooney · 17/08/2021 15:53

Thanks torthecatlady - just tried to order using your code but it says it's not valid - I wonder if it's because it's already highly discounted? Will go ahead and order anyway as £16 is still a bargain.

MerylSqueak · 17/08/2021 15:55

A bit of an odd one but JD Williams have 20/ off their sales prices for clothes and shoes. I just got leather Adidas trainers and leather knee high boots for a total of £65 - the Addis were about £25.

sorryiasked · 17/08/2021 16:05

@beccarooney there's a minimum order of £20 on the referral codes, (I tried using one off of the referral thread)

Sideorderofchips · 17/08/2021 16:24

Thank you for the crayons! Picked some up for my small ones and my step small one

uktrippin · 17/08/2021 16:27

@Lellyo

Home bargains had big canvas chairs and giant beanbags in today £30 each.

Lemonsandlemonade · 17/08/2021 16:36

@Willow4987 what a good idea

blardyblahblah · 17/08/2021 16:40

@Teddansononmyown

Bit of a niche one but any websites that do direct-and not crippilingly expensive- delivery to Australia? So far I can find House of Fraser and Marks and Spencer, but I'm ideally looking for toys, trainers and gifts things. Alternatively, any Australian users point me in the direction of online shops based in Oz that I can order directly from??
I've got family in Oz - I google shops in their area, eg "gift shops Alice Springs". Lots have websites you can buy online from and, as local, delivery is cheaper. By far the best way of doing it. Hope that's helpful to you. Beardy
blardyblahblah · 17/08/2021 16:42

Beardy?? My keyboard is broken!

Thanks so much sorryiasked and torthecatlady. Have order my mezze kit and added two one pot wonders - got all 3 for £18 with free postage as I got the 10% discount from the promotion code. Genius! If I get a referral code I'll add it to the other thread.

uggpug · 17/08/2021 16:57

For anyone doing their own advent, keep an eye out on places like Magic Freebies or So Post for perfume and skincare samples.

I've gotten Rituals creams, Dior perfume samples etc. perfect sizes for calendars and it doesn't get more bargainous than free 😁

Agree with PP's on Vodafone rewards, we got some great deals on it last year.

Marriedtothesilverfox · 17/08/2021 17:05

I dont know if its been mentioned, but dont forget Boots Ten ponds Tuesdays

Mumto3thatsme · 17/08/2021 17:45

Asda had medium sized Yankee candles for £6 today and large size for £9 if anyone’s looking.
Also noticed a fleecy Woodland Christmas themed blanket for £6
