Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

Reastie · 16/08/2021 18:53

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

oatmilkisntsobad · 18/08/2021 22:04

PepperPepperMan you're amazing!

I ordered some bits from Hugo & Hudson. Today they called to say one of my items was out of stock & gave me alternatives to chose from or a refund. I was pretty impressed. Usually online orders just get cancelled if an item isn’t available.I’ve already got him a little Xmas outfit. DH will hate it 🤣

BigGreen · 18/08/2021 22:56

Thank you for the Turtle Doves tip, I got the Classic Signature gloves for £19 delivered with the code SIGNATURE10. Hope my dear Mum likes them :)

SemiFeralDalek · 18/08/2021 23:29

If anyone is interested in second hand books, I can recommend works of books. It's free UK postage too.

I just got a collection of Roald Dahl books for £12.80, they're advertised as £25-30 elsewhere. Amazon stock them too if you search world of books as a seller on there. They tell you what condition they're in.

SemiFeralDalek · 18/08/2021 23:29

Wotld* of books 🤦‍♀️

RicherThanYew · 19/08/2021 00:31

Can someone PLEASE help me track down the website with the space stuff on from a few threads back? I had a basket full on there and I left the thread up because I got distracted :( now I can't find it. I'm desperate!

Doghairismyglitter · 19/08/2021 07:18

Can anyone recommend where to get really special Christmas baubles in nice designs for children? I add a new one every year, one for each of the DS, one for me, one for the dog. But wish I could find more special ones, like a train, a book, cup of tea, space rocket.. that type of thing Confused

twiggytwoo · 19/08/2021 07:29

Liberty (if you're in London) do really nice baubles but if you leave it too late in December there is less choice!

Willow4987 · 19/08/2021 07:35

@Doghairismyglitter John Lewis have been starting to do more unique baubles like that too

PPCD · 19/08/2021 07:38

@fantastaballs

Signing in. I won't be doing much bargain hunting this week as I'm on holiday but will deffo catch up when I'm home.

I'm very curious about the velvetiser. Is it REALLY worth £65? How is it different to using a kettle and a whisk? My daughter drinks hot chocolate ash the time and would love one. But it's a lot of money!

I've got a velvetiser, and love it. You can't compare it to a kettle, as you use milk in it (although they do say slimmers could use water, but I think you'd just get very watery chocolate). And MagpieMaggie the selection packs of chocolate for the velvetiser are lovely too.www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/hot-chocolate-variety-pack.html
Twilightstarbright · 19/08/2021 09:31

Thanks for the playmobil offer. The advent calendar is a great price and bought a couple of take along sets to go in the gift stash to get to the £40 delivery.
