DM called... if anything I feel worse.
Dsis and bil made a LOT of money (6 figures) from the sale of their house as did Dparents. That's fine 🙂 DH and I aren't bothered about money - we can afford to our lives as we want to, we've got savings (not stacks but enough for us) and we're very very happy.
We also moved and we've got to do a lot more work than we thought, again, that's fine, we're in no rush, but there are things that we need to replace so it's a question of juggling priorities around. (new bathroom and kitchen are a long way off!)
Turns out that the reason they couldn't speak as they were busy driving over to give Dsis and Bil all the furniture from one of their rooms because they didn't have any furniture to go in one of their sitting rooms what a crying shame, must be hideous only having enough furniture for two of your three sitting rooms.
Our lounge furniture is basically knackered. I mean properly knackered and we need to replace it this year.
I know I am being deeply unreasonable but the furniture that will sit in the THIRD sitting room would have saved us from spanking a couple of grand and meant we could put the money to replacing a very shonky bathroom sooner rather than later.
Anyway. Its done. Its always been the same and I shouldn't be surprised!
