Here is thread 4 this year. With an appearance from Mr Bon Jovi himself!

Crazy I have also had a shower and am in my PJs (Christmas ones Grin obvs)
I finished my Niagara Falls pic, and am rattling away at Neuschwanstein Castle now. Just St Basils Cathedral and Portofino to go for DH Big Birthday next year. 🤫

I need to post the Vulcan down to you, don't I, Boots? Must get my arse into gear!

fluffy there's no rush. I've loads to do before I get around to that. DH wants a Wallace and Gromit one too. 🤦🏻‍♀️

CrazyBaubles · 28/06/2021 22:57

The cross stitch looks good puss.
Is there a significance for your DH to the places you're doing or are they just ones you know he'll like?

I managed to sew in the ends on the gloves for my niece, re-wound the tangled ball of yarn (which was a complete PITA) and have done about a third of what's needed for the mini cross stitch. It's mostly red stitches on red Aida so it didn't take long to remember why I abandoned it in the first place!
Am now in bed with a refreshed hot water bottle.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 29/06/2021 06:29

Crazy They're holidays he's been on (Pyramids, Venice, Niagara, Neuschwanstein Castle, St Basils Cathedral & Portofino) and one for each decade. He hasn't any photos as they were lost in one of his house moves. He doesn't fancy air travel again due to his dicky ticker so this was the next best thing I could think of.

Morning! I'm up off 7 hours of unbroken sleep (for the first time in weeks) so am feeling a bit better this morning if we ignore the cramps

That's really sweet of you puss, I'm sure your DH will love it

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2021 08:10

Morning.

Godawful night's sleep here. Couldn't switch off. 💤

Sainsbury's have been and gone and DS has liberated the largest carrot for a post-breakfast snack! 🥕🤣

My DC had their vaccines so now displaying their "really sore arms"

1-2-3 Awwww
I went to work after mine and the next day when the ache kicks in.

Morning!

I definitely slept better last night. I'd set an alarm at 6 to go and water the allotment, but I turned it off and went straight back to sleep. That shows I was tired and needed sleep as I wouldn't normally drop back off! The plants can wait. 🤣

It's not been baking hot this last week, so I think they'll cope.

I'm glad I wasn't working the day after my first jab, 70. 🤢🤢🤢 I'd have been OK after the second though.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/06/2021 09:01

I did too 70. Felt a bit like I had cotton wool for a brain but otherwise ok.

I know quite a few people now who've tested positive despite having had both doses of the vaccine. One of them had also had Covid last year.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2021 09:20

That's really bad luck, Wreck!

I barely know anybody who's had it, other than a largeish number in my old firm where it spread round the supposedly Covid-safe office like wildfire! 🙈🙄

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/06/2021 10:05

This is quite recently. Prior to this I didn't know anyone who'd had it! When I say 'know' I should say 'know of'. We still haven't had any school bubbles close either 🤞🏼

CrazyBaubles · 30/06/2021 10:21

That is very unlucky Wreck.

I know a few people who have had it (friends, colleagues) and now my sister.
We think the little ones have it too but can't get a test done on them, they're too ill. Niece was sick when they tried and nephew refused to open his mouth and it seemed pointless to traumatise them just to confirm when their parents have it and their symptoms match.

DH has his morning WFH today. So far he's got up, had his meeting downstairs then got back into bed and been calling companies about a shed - the ones we had has refunded us apologising that ours has been damaged and supply issues mean they can't say when they can get another. So we're now looking at waiting at least 6 weeks 🙄

HairsprayBabe · 30/06/2021 10:25

I think I have worked the app 😑 would really like to not lose my login again 😅 going back to read if anyone wants to give me the abridged version!Xmas Smile

Hairspray. In short, Fluffy has had her veg attacked by a wererabbit. Woolly is knitting and/or planning more knitting. I have been doing whatever it is I do. There has been cross stitching and some house moving planning.

Aksherley why I am currently crocheting but I am planning some more knitting. Also trying to McGyver a way to add length to a Roman blind.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 30/06/2021 17:03

I am very excited about McGyver being involved in the crocheting Woolly.

(Sorry Hairspray led you astray there a bit)

CrazyBaubles · 30/06/2021 20:37

Welcome back Hairspray

I need a little rant. DH was given an aloe plant as a teacher present and he almost killed it. I rescued it, brought it back to life, repotted it and a few weeks ago it sprouted a long 'stem' and started to flower for the first time in the 3 years we've owned it.
It looked scruffy and I was trying to decide how to make it look neat - today DH decided it didn't 'look right' and pulled the stem out 🤬
Not the worst crime in the world but I'm so annoyed (possibly due to hormones) that I needed to moan about it somewhere.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 30/06/2021 20:41

What a vandal Crazy. Why do that?

CrazyBaubles · 30/06/2021 20:53

Apparently he thought it was a bit like pruning and that I just hadn't got around to it yet Confused
I just don't understand why he didn't ask - he knows I've been really working on learning how to look after the plants we have etc and he knows absolutely nothing about them at all.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 30/06/2021 21:31

Woolly Could you put a deep contrasting border at the bottom? Like this one?

Crazy It's a shame your dad finished off the patio so quickly...

Morning!

I like the idea of MacGyver being involved in blind production, Woolly. Maybe the A Team could also help!

Crazy, I'm with Puss with regards the patio. What on Earth was your DH thinking?! Did he have the audacity to look hurt when you bollocked him?

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 01/07/2021 08:34

Morning.
I thought of another way of getting the blind to fit...you'd need a bricklayer and some bricks, and a slightly smaller window though. 🤔😹
DH is off to the Docs today for a belated annual poke and prod (and blood test) so that will be fun for him. 😳

CrazyBaubles · 01/07/2021 08:49

Not at all Fluffy, he was more infuriating than that. His reaction was a mix of innocence ("how was I meant to know?" ) then looked at me like I was being an unreasonable drama llama 🤬
I was calm and clear and used what he calls my 'deadly voice' (basically if I'm shouty I'm annoyed but when I'm ice cold and clear I am furious and that is apparently my deadly voice). I'm quietly confident he won't do anything like it again though!

Puss is your DH quite stoic over stuff like this, or is he extra dramatic?
I have a similar appointment in 2 weeks (bloods and bp) - fun!

Both DH and I had a rubbish nights sleep. I had a tight chest and couldn't switch off, and someone contacted DH about a work thing (emergency thing that he needed to know before he went in this morning) just before bed at 11 and he was so stressed about it he couldn't switch off either. We ended up sitting up in bed with a cuppa, chatting and watching tv from 12:30 until 2am 🥱
