We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

Wreck I'm sure DWreckCat will enjoy it WinkGrin
My 2 would nick the meat of the plate if my back was turned.

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/02/2021 17:04

I have Christmas trees! Only 2 foot tall, but 2 perfectly formed Alberta spruces.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2021 17:11

He likes broccoli strangely

MarshmallowManiac · 21/02/2021 17:27

Went for a little walk today and saw lots of buds and crocuses and snowdrops, Spring is on the way.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/02/2021 18:12

How else can I clean out the bit where the comfort spurts through?

I use those bottle brushes Pussycat flexible wire handle ( I got different sizes) amazing for sticking down the plughole , give 'em a twirl and in the words of Bart Simpson Prepare to be dazzled (or horrified Xmas Envy < not envy )

NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2021 18:15

Stockings, my grape hyacinth shouldn't be too long; they're also leafy for now. There's something else coming too. No idea what til it appears, mind you. My daffs came up once and didn't bother again. Maybe they got eaten?! 😱😱

I've not had a problem with those cotton buds overly (we use them to clean parts of our kitchen bin). We don't use fabric conditioner, so our drawer doesn't get too bad, thankfully. I've also started to use powder, as it apparently cleans machines (I alternate with liquid plus Smol capsule thingies).

Sorry you're still feeling meh, Wreck. SadFlowers

I'm intrigued that your cat likes broccoli 🥦 though!

Wreck Tilly has started to eat bread, you know - the stale end of a loaf broken up for the birds...🙄😹 She loves passionfruit curd and raspberry jam but only the Tiptree expensive stuff and will lick bananas. Charlie will beg for croissants, and will climb DH leg while DH is eating his dinner good boy, very well trained
I think they are part dog. 🤷🏻‍♀️😹
I might try them with broccoli...

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 18:20

DH said the broccoli was part of WreckCats 5-a-day...🤔
He reminded me that Whiskas used to make a food with bits of grated carrot in one flavour and tiny peas in another...our old cat would eat the carroty one, but she would leave perfectly licked-clean peas with the other.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2021 18:26

Yes definitely part dog. Also loves crisps, yoghurt, casserole, fish (obviously), porridge, mild curry. Most things!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 18:29

70 I may have to resort to that. Maybe those tiny ones for doing your teeth might work if they were longer.
fluffy were the daffs the ones you nearly broke your wrists while planting the buggers? DH did similar - we've had nothing for at least 3 yrs. I used fake Calgon with each wash, but that doesn't fix the drawer as the tablet gets chucked into the drum with the laundry. I need to shove the cleaning stuff through it do a steam cycle - job for tomorrow 🥳🥳🥳 Yippee!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 18:35

crisps, cheese, sultanas, cottage pie, fish (again, obvs) chips, yoghurt (it's good for their digestion, but is supposed to be plain not fruity) cereal, ham, chicken, sausage, bacon, pizza...basically if we eat it, so will they.

They like chewing pasta twirls - they chase them around the kitchen floor, batting at them with a paw, and give them a good gnawing, not sure they eat them though.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2021 18:39

Yes! You remember the effort I went to in planting the bloody things. Ingrates. 🙄😂

Wow, living the dream in doing a steam cycle. We have one, but have never used it!

We've gone back to the thinner duvet tonight. The thicker one was washed and has been outside. It's on an airer indoors now as it's raining and will be tumbled tomorrow. I do love having a washing machine big enough to wash the duvets!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 19:04

I may have broken DH old washing machine doing some incredibly heavy curtains - they were mahoosive and weighed a ton and lost about 3" from the bottom when I put them back up
The steam cycle + Dr Beckmanns Service-it cleaner makes the kitchen smell steamy clean for a while 😂 give it a go, the drum and rubber seal look like new. It's the only thing I use the steam for.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/02/2021 19:10

I cleaned the bathroom over the weekend basically emotied it , culled a few things , washed anything that could be washed .

DD said "Oh , I know what it smells like ......the Vets!"

Ok , there was more Astonish Limescale going on than Method Ylang Ylang so it was more swimming pool than spa . Xmas Blush

I was going to pressure wash the outside patio tiles but in the end , I simply CBA !

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 19:42

70 my DH said there's no point pressure washing our patio until it gets sunnier, the slabs won't dry and will end up just as green and slimy.🤷🏻‍♀️
I can't wait though, so might just have go have a bash at some of it later in the week when it's dry/warmer. I keep dropping a hint that I'd like a better pressure washer for my birthday/our WA but it's falling on deaf ears at the mo.

lachy · 21/02/2021 20:17

Evening.

What a weekend! I'm shattered! Have been non stop cleaning and doing not very nice DIY

@PussyCatInChristmasStockings - I found some fully recyclable Cotton buds from Aldi (or lidl...) the save bamboo sticks, so are sturdier than the paper sticked ones. Worth having a look if you happen to be in either.

@WreckTangled hope you are feeling better today?

@70isaLimitNotaTarget we need to jetwash our decking, and then stain it, but its not a job to do when DD is around. It's such a messy job, but it needs doing.

It's DD's birthday on Wednesday, I can't believe she'll be 5, feels like five minutes since she was a board baby, I think I went a bit overboard on her presents, so I might keep some of them back for Christmas!

lachy · 21/02/2021 20:18

Then...

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (thread 2): the end of winter can't come soon enough!
lachy · 21/02/2021 20:19

Now...

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 21/02/2021 20:44

hmm...bamboo would work.
Your DD looks v sweet on her big chair.🥰

NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2021 20:52

Ah! Look at her. So grown up now. I can't believe she's 5 either. 😱

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/02/2021 21:21

Oh my lachy how adorable.

How was the mousse Fluffy?

WreckTangled · 21/02/2021 21:33

Ah Lachy it goes too quickly doesn't it? I hope she has a special day. I'm ok thanks just a bit grumpy.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/02/2021 22:06

It's amazing, Woolly. I'm not a fan of avocados, but you'd never know (we haven't told the kids!).

Morning!

We were woken at 7.16 by Loud John next door's loud Asda delivery. They were bellowing at each other from opposite ends of the driveway. Thanks, mate.

Back to home schooling today. Maybe! It's all hard work now.
