We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

Don't start yet, is my best advice!

If you don't have a heated greenhouse then start indoors later next month!

The fibre pots are ok, but get damp and manky quickly. I use plastic pots for mine. I re-use them each year. I need to wash them all. Thrilling job!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 24/02/2021 17:50

Am I better off sending him for plastic ones then?🤔
I'm not going to start them off yet - I just wanted to get them so they're ready to go. 🤞🏻 They'll start off in the conservatory which isn't that warm overnight, but I can knock a heater on if there's a risk of v cold "beast from the east" type weather.
I thought the fibre ones would be better for toms and beans so I don't disturb their roots? Pos the sunflowers too.
The flower seeds just get scattered, as do the spring onions and carrots, on fresh compost.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/02/2021 18:36

I scatter flower seeds too, just in the ground. I scatter carrots into drills.

I've never had an issue with disturbing roots on those types of things. That I've noticed! I'm a very casual gardener though. Very much survival of the fittest!

Me too Grin
I'm not really green fingered, more green-knees/elbows and crap nails
I'll get the plastic ones & trays.

MarshmallowManiac · 24/02/2021 19:27

Yes I was surprised too Stockings Grin no luckily he does not have to wear the lampshade of shame. They gave us some stuff to squirt down his throat (to promote gut health apparently) and prescribed a diet of Chicken and rice for 5 days. Smile

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 24/02/2021 19:44

Poor little fella. The indignity of being poked by a vet is bad enough, but Chicken and rice too... no doubt he'll be back to normal next week and begging for doggy biscuits. 🐶

MarshmallowManiac · 24/02/2021 19:51

Yes Stockings he has just sicked up the chicken and rice. He really isn't himself. Sad

CrazyBaubles · 24/02/2021 20:00

I hope your dog is better soon Marshmallow. For mine, upset stomachs result in starvation for at least half the day (as long as they have water they'll be fine), then boiled rice with scrambled egg /boiled chicken and (if no appetite) - tuna.
After ddog had pancreatitis we were told to feed him Chappy as it's low fat and doesn't irritate so may be worth trying this (be warned, it stinks)!

I like your garden plans puss

It is raining so badly here tonight, it's drowning out the TV 🙄

MarshmallowManiac · 24/02/2021 20:21

Thanks Crazy will definitely try it.

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/02/2021 20:40

I actually had laundry out on the line today 😱 everything dried apart from DS's heavy cotton sweater. It's forecast to be dry and warm (for the time of year) until Sunday. I may have empty laundry baskets 🎉🎉

Sorry to hear about your poorly pooch Marshmallow

Morning!

Well done on the washing, Woolly! We watch the forecast very closely and put washing out all year when it's predicted to be dry / breezy! Some of our best drying gets done on windy nights. 😱

I need to get up and put the washing out now, actually. The forecast is lovely today.

I just need slightly higher temperatures as we've not quite managed to turn the heating off yet, but it's down to a few hours a day. Hopefully soon though!

Sorry about your dog, Marshmallow. The vet used to give our (long-departed) dog some magic injection when she was like this. It seemed to work too. Why will recall when I was dog sitting while our parents were away and Jodie decided to puke everywhere. Not good!

Morning folks, on a late shift today. I did a long day yesterday and must have walked a billion or so miles. I need to find a way of wearing a fitness band to count my steps (we are not allowed to wear them on our wrists now with infection control).

Sorry about your dog Marshmallow, I do remember the pukey dog time you had Fluffy. I did love that dappy dog of ours bless her.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 08:26

I felt like I could have turned off the heating the past couple of days but temperatures are set to get down to freezing overnight again for the next week or more. Luckily our heating is really cheap to run anyway, we're all electric and pay £90/month all year round with a couple of hundred back to us at the end of summer.

I've just folded about four loads of washing, have been really slack this week. Final day of training thankfully.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/02/2021 08:42

Our front room hasn't been able to maintain 18° yet, which is our test for turning it off! Our overnight isn't quite as cold. Maybe I should go and fleece my beans!

She was a lovely dog, Why! Here she is! ❤️❤️

Morning.
We have clear blue skies here so would be a good day for putting washing out - if I had a washing line! We need to buy one ASAP.

why could you buy an old-school pedometer that clips on to your pocket / trousers?

I'm being rubbish with the washing too Wreck. We haven't been below 2 loads in the basket for ages Blush

Cute dog fluffy 🥰

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 08:59

Isn't weird that people join virtual meetings from their bedroom and don't blur the background? Confused or am I weird for thinking it's weird Hmm

CrazyBaubles · 25/02/2021 09:43

Depends - if their desks etc are in the bedroom I think it's fine. If they're in bed then it ick and weird (I have a colleague who often does this, wearing a hoody, hair in a bun, clearly sat up in bed like she's just woken up and there's been a fair few comments / raised eyebrows).

Saying that - I've attended a few meetings from bed but only if they're camera off!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/02/2021 10:10

I didn't know I could blur it initially! I have my door and bookcase behind me (I have a desk with two screens etc). I am blurred now though. 😁

We have two loads out now. It's glorious!

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 10:19

Bookcase is fine but garish bedroom wallpaper including headboard and cushions is weird Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 25/02/2021 12:25

Afternoon everyone. Quite a calm day today not much good for getting washing dry unfortunately, as mysteriously today the basket is full again. Thanks everyone, poor doggie has spent the morning lying on me and sleeping, but did eat some chicken and rice this morning. When DH is doing his zoom calls he is always in some exotic destination somewhere. Grin

No it is weird Wreck We pay £90 a month too, but think we've used extra as working from home for a while.

Aww lovely pooch Fluffy yes those times are so fun aren't they. Grin I wish we had some magic injection to give him as he is definitely not his mad self.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 25/02/2021 14:03

Can Charlie Bear have some magic injections too?...he's barfed this morning, poor little thing. I could tell it was "due" as his purrs get very loud beforehand. He has a v sensitive tum and spring has always been awful for him. I comb/brush him every day he's getting bored of me doing it now but it doesn't make a difference, the "tv" vet shrugged knob and said it was his diet. I've tried different food, but after so many years we've come to realise that it's his own fur he reacts against.
In other non-barfy news Grin we've mowed both lawns and done some trimming etc, so the garden looks at least presentable now.
The sun is out and it's bloody marvellous 🌞

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 25/02/2021 15:02

It's, erm, Rudolph Day again...

I suspect we may have missed it 😳

NoWordForFluffy · 25/02/2021 15:46

Ooh. So it is. #Christmascountdownfail Xmas Blush

I'm not doing anything Christmassy today! Xmas Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 25/02/2021 15:51

I might eat the Christmas sweets I have left, in honour of Rudolph day. Grin Grin

Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

Nothing festive going on here , work was busy , seem to spend more time on the computer doing notes and sending letters than actually "Hands On" .

Poor dog Marsh Sad

Our moggies are due their vaccines tomorrow . Must stock up on Elastoplast they are little swine when restrained .
