Can I join? I so desperately need something to look forward to that we’ve scheduled an extra Christmas for 28th February! Presents are bought (2 each plus a chocolate snowman), decorations will go up at the weekend, DH is doing the dinner.

I have no clue what I was doing last year but on the 19th Feb 2020 I did DoLS Training (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding ) . My job doesn't involve depriving people of anything BTW .

I am T2 diabetic, but it is very well controlled ( last HBA1C was 27) but I had surgery (similar to a gastric bypass) a few years ago which means that I don't absorb iron as well now. I had an iron infusion this time last year - my ferritin level was 2 and although it is better now, I'm generally quite anaemic, and get every bug going.

To be honest I've been very cautious anyway, but was desperately hoping to see my parents. I miss them and I just want a hug from my mum

(I know...I'm being daft, but this lockdown feels like it's been going on for years!)

I think my wisdom tooth is infected again. My jaw is so sore. Happened the same time last year. I was supposed to get it pulled March last year. 2 days after lockdown started. Obviously never happened.

We are starting to decorate DD's room tomorrow. We're doing it in stages as she's being funny about it (as is DS; both chose their paper, but both also don't seem to want to lose their old decoration!). So we'll paint half tomorrow and paint / paper the other half next week. I had to buy planet wall stickers to get them to agree! 🙄

I’ve ordered crackers for our second Christmas today. I need a tree... do I need to go to a proper garden centre or will b&q/the range have something useable do you think? DD insists on a real tree. We can plant it out afterwards.

I doubt you'll get a real tree now, sadly. They're very time-limited.

I still have a Christmas pudding ( Sainsbury) and a 6" square cake ( baked by my own fair hand) un-decorated .
Might keep these for Easter ?

Ah , I had not one but two trips to the Bottle Bank - not because I had that many wine bottles to dispose of , but the first one I went to wasn't taking any glass.
Combined it with taking DH to work , going to the Bank and essential food buying

I think the excitement of a trip to the local tip would push me over the edge !

Morning all. This is the first morning I have woken to bird song in a long time so that is nice. Looks like another miserable day weather wise though so heavens knows how we are going to entertain DS.

We've had birdsong here too, I think for the past week or so. It's quite welcome I have to say.
