We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

Crazy your nephew sounds adorable. I hope you buy him some chocolate.

Stash busting going ok. I got a Woolwarehouse voucher from DH for my birthday so I have used part of it and my sister sent me a packet of wool when I asked her for a pattern to use the SINGLE BALL from my stash Confused but I haven't started using it yet...

However, so far this year I have made:
2 tea cosies
A wreath
Some bunnies (all for the WH Easter sale)
I used a ball of my stash to join squares that my SIL made into a small blanket
5 pairs of socks
2 toddler hats
A pile of padded hearts for WH
3 cardigans and 5 hats for a new family baby
An adult hat for Wreck
A nativity
A set of matryoshka dolls
Squares for various WH blankets
About a quarter of a stripy blanket
I'm currently working on hats for the 5 youngest boys in the family (2 are grandsons of one sister and 3 are great-grandsons of another sister)

CrazyBaubles · 23/04/2021 12:04

Wow Woolly, you have been busy! Do you have any pics of the matryoshka dolls please?
I've made nothing - just working away on the cross stitch but am itching to start crocheting.

I am very much the fun auntie - nephew is so cute he knows exactly how to get biscuits / chocolate out of me!
I love that he showed me his shoes as he is new to wearing them (still doesn't like his splints though).

I'm taking a break from work - I've just put my second load of washing on the line which makes me feel peaceful 😂

CrazyBaubles · 23/04/2021 12:31

I have a question for this if you who know plants / weeds / flowers. These have sprung up in various bunches around our lawn - any idea what they are please?

The white ones are primrose / polyanthus.

I can't see the leaves on the others.

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 23/04/2021 13:14

The white and yellow are primulas. I think the pink are too (they come in all sorts of colours).

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 23/04/2021 13:14

Woolly Primroses. Not weeds.
I fell over in the garden yesterday, so am a bit battered n bruised.
How my arse didn't take out a fence panel I will never know. 😳

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 23/04/2021 13:15

sorry. Crazy obvs, not woolly
Heading back to bed, catch up tomoro

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/04/2021 13:33

Could the purple ones be aquilegia?

CrazyBaubles · 23/04/2021 14:22

Thank you all. I would never have known that. They're growing in little bunches of 4/5/6 flowers around the lawn.

Apparently the purple ones are forget me nots and they are everywhere.
I like them because they require no work from me and are pretty but they're going to disappear when DH mows the lawn next ☹️

Puss I hope you're feeling ok after your fall. Maybe you need some sort of body armour when out and about?

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2021 15:10

They don't look like forget me nots. Unless there are different types, that is!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 23/04/2021 15:48

Fluffy I don't know anything about flowers, it's just what the man next door told me.
I'll take better pics later and we can check.

I've finished work now. As my dad would say, I need matchsticks to hold my eyes open 😴
I've been good though, cleaned the bathroom then had a shower. Going to bring the washing in and nap cross stitch until DH gets home.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/04/2021 17:55

Ouch Pussycat Xmas Shock you'll be navy tomorrow when the bruises come out .

Crazy I'd say primroses for the yellow ones then I'm stuck . DS used to call Forget-Me-Nots Don't Forget Me s Xmas Grin

DH muttered about "What's your plans for tomorrow" he's itching to get to B&Q so that'll be us .
I went shopping with DD ( Bluewater) then food shopping .
Now doing a Virtual Plant Shopping List .
Plants in Sainsbury were a bit shit tired looking . So I didn't buy any there .

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2021 18:04

I'm back from my jab. It was AZ. They called me to go early, so I left work early to get there. The traffic is godawful at that time of day...took me 40 minutes to do a 20 minute journey which is why I'd booked 6.25! I'm so glad I didn't go into labour at rush hour as I'd have gone spare in that traffic (the maternity hospital is in the next town).

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 23/04/2021 19:29

Excellent Fluffy. Take it easy this evening. SIL had her babies in that hospital but by planned section so no experience of getting there in a hurry. The town was the case study for my geography urban coursework. I was part of the pilot programme for 16+ (which eventually became GCSEs) I actually have both an OLevel and a CSE in geography (and English language) if that means anything to you youngsters 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2021 20:05

I went into labour with DD, but it was 6.30 on a Sunday morning, so there was no traffic. DS was a planned section after a week's incarceration as he was transverse, so no rushing there!

I was about the fifth year of GCSEs. No A* in my day!

Morning!

I was shit company last night: I slept and that's it! I have a headache, but I've had one for days with my hayfever. It is a bit worse, so I'm taking regular painkillers to try to keep it at a bearable level. Luckily(!), I'm a headachey person, so I'm used to ploughing through them. Crazy will understand!

My hayfever is shocking this week. It was bad last year too.

Puss, I hope you're feeling better after your fall.

Morning! I had a facial yesterday and my skin feels amazing. Not sure what to do today, I think everywhere outside will be really busy. DH is working too, probably won't end up doing anything.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/04/2021 11:12

Morning
Wreck did you buy some of the products to use at home or is it something that you'd only go to a salon for ?

You'll have glass-like skin now Xmas Grin

I've just hung out 3 loads of laundry , DH has watered the new lawn and I'm going to upwrap the BreadMaker and RTFI Xmas Wink

WreckTangled · 24/04/2021 11:20

I bought a face serum and two hand lotions then got two body creams and a scrub free so all in £31. Not bad.

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/04/2021 15:37

That's a good value bundle Wreck especially if you're pleased with the results.

Hope you aren't to stiff and sore today Puss and Fluffy is getting over her headache.

Crazy these are the matryoshka dolls - fiddly little buggers but they used up a decent amount of yarn.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2021 15:43

I've been daft and over exerted myself in the garden this afternoon. I now feel pretty ropey (sick / dizzy), so I'm lying in the bath trying to recover. No sign of the headache shifting; I'm still taking two-hourly painkillers (alternating paracetamol and codeine).

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 24/04/2021 15:54

Oh Lord Fluffy! Is it still more hay fever than vaccination after effects?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2021 16:40

I don't know!

The headache could be hayfever, jab OR my period, which started with spotting yesterday.

I think the tiredness and 🤢🤢🤢 are the jab.

I'm so bloody hungry today too. Not sure if that's hormonal or the jab!

Today I have sowed lots more seeds:

Today I've sown loads more seeds:

3 types of pumpkin (enormous, large and sugar);
Butternut squash;
Sweetcorn;
More French beans;
Courgette;
More peas; and
Carrot (garden, not pots).

The greenhouse is heaving!

I've also weeded the front garden, which was a real mess!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2021 16:41

Bit of repetition up there! 🤦‍♀️😂

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 24/04/2021 16:51

I'll overlook it considering I used "to" when I meant "too" earlier. Considering I was boasting yesterday that I had two English Language qualifications I am ashamed of myself 😂

Hopefully you'll be able to relax and take it easy tonight
