We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

Eurgh Eurgh they had PassionFruit Jaffa Cakes in Tesco . I would have to shave my own tongue Xmas Envy

I had a vine (grapevine) which I think survived two years (no fruit) a fig tree which died after it's third season and pumpkins which yielded one scabby fruit the size of a tennis ball..........

I'm not good with fruit Xmas Grin

Morning!

At least you got it off your chest, Wreck! 🤣🤣 You'd normally be right though.

I need to get chilli and leek seeds sown today. Plus pop to Aldi for a couple of bits (no point trekking to town as my Nectar offers aren't worth the time / effort to go to Sainsbury's).

Crazy I got all my essentials. I'd ordered myself an ester egg though and they didn't have it. Very disappointing. Also I got some cauliflower cheese grills for the freezer and they replaced them with vegan burgers but when I went into store they had cheese and onion crisp bakes which seems a much more reasonable replacement so I was a bit right HmmGrin

My house is a state and I have washing coming out of my ears today. Going to do a kettlebell workout, shower and then blitz the house. I have no motivation though. Dd has a sore throat and ds sill be glued to the PS4 all day (only allowed on at weekends).

I ordered one of those little plastic covered 'greenhouse' plant protectors so going to put my seeds in there . Checked yesterday there'll doing DiddlySquat but it's early still.

I want a head start on the nastursiums so we get the caterpillers Xmas Grin
I dont care about the flowers , lots of leaf then we get excited to see the Cabbage Whites hovering round them and have a Caterpiller Nursery .

I have some climbers on order and looking for some shrubs when I can ger ro a garden centre .

TheWoollybacksWife · 20/03/2021 08:44

Morning. We watched Gardeners World last night and I feel we need chilli seeds - especially as it's chilli jam time again and I think it would be nice to make it with homegrown chillis. I'll investigate B&M this afternoon I think.

Still haven't made the sheep for my nativity and I'm frustrating myself because I've found the next pattern that I want to make and I won't start it until the last project is finished. I'll see if I can bring myself to do them this afternoon.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2021 09:23

We have a massive bag of homegrown chillies in the freezer from last year. We made loads of chilli jam at the time too! We had one of them with our homemade jalfrezi last night. It almost blew my head off! 🤣🤣 Shame you're not local, you could've had a load for your jam, Woolly!

I'm not doing peppers this year as I don't do very well with them. I'll do more chillies instead!

Flowers seeds get thrown onto the ground and either grow or don't. I don't do any nurturing! 🤣

My only garden plans that include flowers are hopefully a huge pot which will be for a wildflower seed pack I have and some lavender in a pot near the front door (and they're purely to attract bees).

I think the plan for this summer while we're sorting the garden is herbs, my lemon tree, maybe some strawberries and potatoes and I think DH wants to try blueberries (all in pots).
We're not gardeners though so we'll have to see how it all goes!

Gutting about your Easter egg Wreck

What's the next pattern on your list Woolly?

I did some housework after work yesterday so today DH will do bathrooms and mop, I'll Hoover and do some washing and we'll be all done.
Going to do that, attempt a workout from YouTube, shower then work on my Christmas cross stitch Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2021 10:15

You'll need ericaceous compost for blueberries and special feed too, as an FYI!

There's still time to get an egg, Wreck. Try again next week!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 20/03/2021 10:26

I will. It's a specific egg I want though (Lower carb) and was on offer.

TheWoollybacksWife · 20/03/2021 10:35

We've got seed trays dotted around the house with dahlia, nasturtium and foxglove seeds in. DH bought bare root strawberry plants last year and they are in pots and we are going to see if we can improve on our 12 spud harvest from last year too. I also bought rocket seeds and I'm trying to convince DH that they can go in a couple of deep seed trays in the cold frame even though the packet says to sow directly into the ground. We've got a typical new build tiny garden so we don't really have much room to grow veggies in anything but pots.

It's a set of crocheted Matryoshka dolls Crazy. Probably for the Woolly Hugs Christmas sale but it's another project that will use up oddments of balls. Did I show you the tea cosy I made for the spring sale?

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2021 10:37

We use your Christmas tea cosy all year round, Woolly! 🎄❤️ ☕️

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2021 12:24

I guessed it was a specific egg you wanted, Wreck (as I have to get specific ones for the kids). When does the offer end?

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 20/03/2021 12:26

Thanks for the heads up Fluffy - that may be too much faff for us so maybe we'll leave the blueberries!

I just googled crochet Matryoshka dolls and they're lovely woolly. I may add to my never ending to make list.
I love the tea cosy, it's gorgeous - and reminded me that making 2 of them are also on my to make list (I want a Coo one and a Christmas one) but I'm focusing on my cross stitch at the mo.

I forgot it's 'Super Saturday' so it'll be non stop rugby in this house today. 3 matches but I think 2 is my limit so I may have to busy myself through one of them.

WreckTangled · 20/03/2021 12:26

Not until the fifth so should hopefully get one.

I've done all the housework apart from the washing. It's just finished so will sort it after lunch. Ds is moaning he's hungry.

Morning!

I've been awake ages. I'm unimpressed!

It's allotment day today. I'm moving my strawberry plants around, primarily as their bed is so weedy, they need taking out so I can dig it over and get rid of the weeds, then I'll put them back more neatly!

WreckTangled · 21/03/2021 07:50

Morning. I'm not planning on doing much today. I've really hurt my hip, must have been the squats. Anyway it kept me awake a bit overnight. Dd has a sore throat and a cough, she's requested I swab her so will do that later. Roast for dinner later too.

WreckTangled · 21/03/2021 07:57

Also yesterday I booked us a night away in Brighton. For all of us in June. Free cancellation so if it can't happen it's no problem. Nice to have something to look forward to though...

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 21/03/2021 10:02

Been up since 5, but went to bed at 8 as last night I felt so rough. Couldn't warm up but my hands and head were on fire.
Feel sneezy and full of cold now also, hello peri period, so anything could happen from now on tbh 🙄

fluffy I love the idea of "neat" strawberries 😂
Wreck I hope DD is ok. If you get there, give my regards to Brighton and that ridiculously steep hill 🥵

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 21/03/2021 10:06

forgot to say - Woolly I love that tea cosy 😍😍
I might somewhere have a cross stitch pattern for Matryoshka dolls...

WreckTangled · 21/03/2021 10:09

😂😂 definitely won't be going anywhere near the hill Grin

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 21/03/2021 11:36

It's a cracking view but will make your feet bleed 😎🥵😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/03/2021 13:33

Aaaaaargh! One of the reasons we moved here in the first place was to get away from neighbours with too many cars and not enough parking. This is my drive and the white twatmobile Beamer belongs to the dickhead around the corner 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I can only hope he moves it back when he finishes washing and polishing his knob other car. It's an Audi, naturally.

WreckTangled · 21/03/2021 14:57

Oh no woolly! Hate inconsiderate people.

Our area is vaccinating over 40's now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/03/2021 14:58

There's only one thing for it , Woolly the handfull of birdseed * on the roof , let the birds do their bit .

Then vaguely say you saw a crowd of starlings fighting over a bit of bread ......

  • Disclaimer , I have never actually done this to my NDN car but often thought it .
NoWordForFluffy · 21/03/2021 15:04

I think I'm dead! #dramaqueen

3.5 hours of digging, weeding and shifting strawberry runners. I now have 5 rows of strawberries which are neat. For now!

I didn't quite get all of the old ones dug out, but that can wait. It was more important to get the space they were going into dug over plus the runners put in. I had about 20 I'd grown from runners at home plus the ones I shifted there.

My rhubarb is poking through nicely. I'm hoping for a bumper crop this year as it's the second full year of having them. I still need to weed around the plants. Again, time wasn't on my side!

Woolly, I can't stand twatty parkers. We have a few near us and they drive me insane and I've done some spectacular fish-wifing at one lot more than once. I hope it's a brief thing.

Wreck, I hope you get to go to Brighton. It will be lovely. I've booked the hotel to see my parents and Why in May, but whether it happens is something else (the hotel we met in for a drink, Woolly).

I hope Wreck's DD and Puss feel better soon. Could any of it be hayfever? Mine gets worse each year.

I climbed the street adjacent to Lombard St in San Francisco. That was stupid. (It's as steep, but not windy.) All because we were too impatient to wait for the tram! 🙄😂
