We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

I think the issue is the guidance states your sex can be based on some documents that are easily changed rather than recording sex at birth then asking for your gender. I haven't read up on it properly yet but that wouldn't sit right with me. It's probably not a topic for the Christmas section as it causes lots of arguments elsewhere on MN!

With food, bread is my absolute downfall. It's so easy it's like my back up food for it I don't have a plan 🙄

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/03/2021 18:59

Sorry for being awol yet again! I need to lose weight as have tipped into overweight bmi during lockdown. Am hoping to achieve it doing 16:8 and cutting out snacks.

Fell yesterday and now have a swollen and sore wrist and hand as well as grazes and bruises all over. I have to say DH has been fab and picked up most things. Going to see how it is tomorrow and whether I should seek medical attention.

DH can't sleep because of the wind, so I'm awake too.😡
most it might be worth getting an xray.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2021 07:53

Morning.

Bit breezy out there folks! My first job of the day was rescuing our brown bin which blew over just after DH got in the shower (obviously). So hi to my neighbours who got to see me in my dressing gown! 🙈

He'd put it in a daft place, so we're lucky it waited until morning to topple.

Did you get back to sleep, Puss?

Most, do you have an MIU near you? I think most of these have x-ray facilities. Probably worth going do as I say, not as I do, as I should've gone when I injured my shoulder, but didn't!.

Morning. Puss why is it always windy the night before bin day? I was up in the early hours rescuing my recycling from various neighbouring gardens. Then I couldn't sleep fearing it would happen again. DH has brought me some tea in bed and I think I'm going to run a bath and drink my tea while having a soak.

Just Mary and a couple of sheep to do now. Then I'll post a photo.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2021 07:55

Oh. Bin trauma all round it seems! Sorry yours went in the early hours, Woolly! 😴

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 11/03/2021 08:01

Nope. No sleep, well maybe 40 winks in the armchair between being meowed at .
I've also had bin issues - our garden waste one was lying down with a flappy lid when daybreak arrived.
Woolly I remember chasing beer cans in the dark one night in my PJs a few years ago, also before bin day. Now I stack them back in the box they came from. 😂🥴🍺

WreckTangled · 11/03/2021 08:11

Our bins were ok and the recycling is currently being collected. Dd and ds were both up in the night though, it was very windy.

BiddyPop · 11/03/2021 08:25

Morning all,
You know how work is always manic for me? Well, it's in a particularly manic phase and I've had no bandwidth for nice stuff (I was only posting very ranty things on other threads ) recently. Between work stress and total fed-up ness with lockdown. And with DD. So I didn't want to inflict that on you lovely folks. But I made myself do some sewing at the weekend, dig the veg bed, and take some early nights to catch up on sleep at least.

Off to catch up on the news that I've missed.

CrazyBaubles · 11/03/2021 08:27

Morning.
Bin trauma here too - woke up to find my recycling is all over my garden and brown food waste bin is on its side (luckily lid is still closed) so have had to clear that up.
Also discovered that the window in the spare room whistles when it's blowing a Gale which DDog did not like!

I don't think I said, DH got a call offering him a jab appointment for today but at 2pm (mines at 8:45). We asked to swap because it's hard for him to get out of school on the middle of the day so they told us to come together and they'll try and do them at the same time - we're just pulling up for it now

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 11/03/2021 08:37

Crazy that's fab news - DH had an appt at 8am, and mine was 9.50, but they told us to arrive together and they'd do us both at 8. Make sure you've paracetomol and DDog needs to be a good boy and not pull when going for his walk. DH did get a bit of a fever and I had stabby pains in my arms and my armpits for a couple of days. We were in and out in less than 5 mins.

WreckTangled · 11/03/2021 08:46

That's great crazy! I had the Pfizer and had a really bad headache overnight and felt boiling but no temperature. Fine the next day and my arm didn't hurt at all. My parents had the AZ and had shivers and headache for a day or two afterwards. Agree with puss that a bit of paracetamol is usually needed. I just get so excited every time I hear of someone I know getting it Grin

CrazyBaubles · 11/03/2021 09:44

Welcome back Biddy!
I think I may have seen one of your rants on another thread - can't remember what it was though.

Thanks puss and Wreck. I had the AZ jab so I guess we have to wait and see. My work are being great about it - time off to have it, no questions asked and they've said if I feel rough I can take time off if needed and it won't count on my sickness record as it's related to the jab.
More worried about DH feeling rough because he'll still be expected to be in school.

I've just had a cuppa and some extra vitamins (I figured it can't hurt) and am going to log on & start work now.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2021 10:11

Yay! I love seeing more people jabbed too.

We've run out of vaccine in our area until tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to book soon.

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 11/03/2021 11:16

Crazy We had AZ. Did you get a little printed card with the batch no and date on? I felt absolutely fine until about 12hrs later.
Fluffy DH wanted to wait and go to a hub rather than the GP🤔 right up until I pointed out womansplained that meant driving to either Chester, Stoke or Manchester, possible in bad weather and in the dark, rather than under 2 miles to the docs.🤦🏻‍♀️
Biddy I think I read the same slightly ranty thread as Crazy.

MarshmallowManiac · 11/03/2021 11:40

Morning everyone. Still major bluster here, bins all over the place.

It's always better to be safe than sorry Most hope you are not too sore.

Hope you are feeling better Biddy and hope your situation improves soon. Flowers Wine Cake Brew

Glad to hear you have had the vaccine Crazy my work has been good too, any time off related to CV does not go on your sickness record.

CrazyBaubles · 11/03/2021 14:18

Yes I got my card puss.
My dad has told me he's booked in for next week too (he's not long turned 60). They've got a vaccine centre set up in a local sports venue so he's going there.

Im trying to work on something that requires so much concentration and I'm being rubbish...

WreckTangled · 11/03/2021 15:38

I can't find my English gcse certificate and it's £43 to replace! So annoying. I did find a photo of me and my ex boyfriend whilst I was searching though Grin

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 11/03/2021 17:02

£43 quid?! Wreck blimey, that's a bit steep... I've only ever shown my GCSE cert once, in my first interview at 17. We were the first year to do them and the Council HR hadn't seen one and were curious as to what they looked like. 🤔😂

Crazy how's it going? I've remembered something else. DH got a migraine the evening after the jab. I know you suffer from them too, so thought I'd mention it.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2021 17:05

All of my certificates are in a card envelope. Somewhere! God knows where!

£43 is steep!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/03/2021 17:13

It's a lot isn't it? There's not much I can do though as I need it. I suppose that's how they get away with charging so much. I've got my college certificates but no idea where my gcse ones are. I probably burnt them or something know what kind of teenager I was Grin

CrazyBaubles · 11/03/2021 17:17

£43 is extortionate Wreck!

I think I have all mine bundled up in a poly pocket somewhere but I've never been asked for them.

Thanks for the heads up puss. I've got a cracking headache at the mo and am also freezing - not sure if that's jab related or coincidence though.
I've finished work now so going to cwtch down on the sofa with a blanket for half hour and see how I go.

NerosFiddle · 11/03/2021 18:07

Crazy both me and Dh had a slight temp after the jag. Dh's felt really ill after his but he had COVID 4 weeks before he got it. And we both had Pfizer.

Wreck that's steep. I haven't a notion where mine is. I know I found it when I was applying for a masters but there's been a house move and 2 children since then.

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/03/2021 18:29

Blimey Wreck. I don't suppose either you or your ex BF are holding your GCSE certificate in the photo? 😂

Crazy cwtching on the sofa sounds like a plan.

Welcome back Biddy hope it calms down for you soon.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 11/03/2021 18:54

Woolly😂😂😂
