Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

At least it's winter (and icy/snowy) so I don't really want to go out now I can't.⛄🤷🏻‍♀️

Will save some money. We would usually go to the cinema, shopping, bowling and out to eat etc between Christmas and new year. Can't now.

We're still tier 3. For now! I'm sure we'll be in 4 soon, however!

We had a joint effort at chicken and ham pie making today as I ran out of time at lunch to finish it. We also did a team effort in prepping for tomorrow's curry which is marinating in the fridge. 😋😋

Ice on the windscreen this morning !
At work tomorrow , then I'll pile home , cook something nice (from the freezer ) and see what delights DH has bought from local shops .
Late-ish dinner I think , own bodyweight in Roses and watch whatever drivel is on TV .
Perfect NYE !

Then I have to plan a supermarket shop maybe Friday .

Our car was frozen this morning too and the neighbours still when we got home at 11:30am. The roads were icy too, meant to be even colder tomorrow thankfully we don't have to go anywhere.

So pleased the dc's school will still be open and no primaries local to me are closing.

Dunno about frozen cars, it's frozen me I'm worried about. The house is struggling to stay warm! 🥶🥶

We've had rain again, so the frozen solid cars from last night aren't now! I bet it's an ice rink out there though!

Work all day today. I think I'll concentrate on all of my new files which need work first. There's a fair few stacked up!

We've got a high of 2° today 🥶 I'm not planning on leaving the house.

We've had a tiny bit of snow, at about 5am. It's not slippery, but it is crunchy.
The cats have had breakfast, but seem to want another...it's going to be a long day of begging looks 😹🤦🏻‍♀️

Morning! NC from HoHoMerryChristmas. We woke up to a fair bit of snow, but the roads are all pretty much clear by now but the pavements are still blanketed by snow. Once DS2 is awake we'll head off out to the shop to get the ingredients to make a sweet and sour sauce. The snow is beautiful and the DC will be overjoyed but when it freezer it over it's a pain.

Afternoon. Ive been MIA, buried in a mountain of packing boxes etc. We have so much stuff in this house 🙄
Christmas decs came down yesterday and my house is like a bomb site but I think it's going to be that way for the next few days.

I'm in a bit of a rubbish mood. I got a diary for Christmas and was filling it in today - I have no plans to put in for the year for the first time ever.
And despite not really leaving the house except for Christmas Day, I've somehow picked up a sore throat.

DH has gone for a walk to get out of the house and I'm freezing so I'm cross stitching in bed as a break from bloody packing!

Remember to keep a list Crazy of roughly what is in each box - number them & write on which room they are to go in. And save a nice big box for your bedding (and some pjs) - much easier to make the bed on the first night that way

Hi folks, was missing yesterday as I was working a long day. It did feel very long as well.

Having a Chinese takeaway tonight instead of the usual family party.

All decs down Christmas bedding in the wash, I don’t do nye, going to watch some more upstairs and downstairs.

@CrazyBaubles when are you moving? We complete and move on 8th. I totally know how you feel.

I know tomorrow is new years day, and normally we don't do a great deal but we've got stacks to do so I'm ignoring all traditions!

I've had a lovely soak in the bath in preparation for two Zoom chats later, and....I'm going to blow dry my hair! for the third time this year!

I'm taking stuff down on Sunday. The kids still want Christmas bedding at the moment (Thursday is their bedding change day). Ours is still on as Sunday is our bedding day.

Evening everyone. Hope all are well, freezing cold here. Have been watching 'The Bay' quite good so far watching first series Also watching Modern Families which I am loving. Getting ready for a bit of a buffet with drinks tonight, got to make sure this year is definitely leaving. Will be sad at 11pm though.

Marinated curry sounds fab Fluffy, love homemade pie. Think the DC are making cookies.

Well we were going to have an Indian but after twenty minutes of trying to get through, including it just ringing out one time, I've given up. Now the dc are really grumpy because they wanted one and I am too!

puss we have moving boxes that have a list of rooms with tick boxes so I'm using that plus Numbering each box and telling DH what's in them. He's way more organised than me so he's keeping a list.

lachy we don't have a firm date yet, we're aiming for Jan 14th (ish) but we're both flat out in work from 4th so wanted to use our Christmas holidays to get started. We've so far packed the majority of 2 rooms and will be arranging a trip to the tip and a charity shop drop ASAP as we have loads to get rid of.

marshmallow my plan is to keep 2 boxes and boxes and on moving the essentials in them 👍🏻

We're just doing a little set of errands - Tesco for more tape for the boxes, dropping off a parcel that my friend had delivered to me as the company wouldn't deliver to her, then picking up food (indian - sorry wreck) then home to eat before a zoom family meeting then having a few drinks and hoping we stay awake until 12!

Marshmallow that didn't make any sense! It should have said - I'm planning to keep 2 empty boxes and put the essentials in them on moving day!

I'm just going to have wine for dinner. Feeling really fed up.

No I just really wanted curry it's put me in a really bad mood. Plus ds is so awful at the moment he screams and shouts about everything and constantly slams doors. He's driving me mad!

Fluffy the last update we had was searches were back but it was literally the day before everyone seems to be on leave for Christmas. Our sols is out of office until 4th Jan but as there's no chain, that's the provisional date we were given. Even if it's later though, we have so much to do I think it's the earlier we get started the better.

Wreck wine for dinner on the odd occasion is necessary.
