Just that really. Do you have a special ‘Christmas Eve meal? Takeaway? Buffet?

Celery and hummus with crackers. Banana cake.

Midnightstar76 · 24/12/2020 23:05

Very normal as doing special tomorrow so just had chicken nuggets, croquettes and baked beans. However did indulge in a special chocolate mousse trifle type desert and had a couple of mince pies throughout the day to keep me going 😉

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 24/12/2020 23:07

Fish and chips

Alez · 24/12/2020 23:08

Mussels, chips and salad

lissie123 · 24/12/2020 23:08

Beef Wellington and dauphinois potatoes and veg and chocolate orange tiramisu.

We had odds and sods, random stuff from the freezer that needed using up. Baguette pizzas, chicken goujons, garlic bread and frozen scalloped potatoes also,
some dips and sauces, cucumber sticks and carrots for a bit of crunch. Went down quite well and the kids thought it was fun.

GuiltyPleasure · 24/12/2020 23:18

Chinese

itsme7 · 24/12/2020 23:23

Salmon en croute. My DM thinks it’s my favourite and I’m happy to play along.

ceeveebee · 24/12/2020 23:28

We had a Chinese “fakeaway” from M&S - crispy duck, ribs, satay chicken and special fried rice 😋.

Lindy2 · 24/12/2020 23:29

A seafood party platter from the Sainsburys Christmas range. It said it served 10 but 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children managed to polish off almost all of it without any problem Grin).

I'll definitely do this again next year. The only preparation was peeling off the lid and slicing some crusty bread. It was very tasty too.

Imissmoominmama · 24/12/2020 23:31

Indian takeaway.

frustrationcentral · 24/12/2020 23:34

Dominos Grin. We're normally away at my parents, last year everyone came to us so we were frantically cleaning and food prepping. Feels really nice to not have that panic and being at home is lovely, so we treated ourselves to a dominos

Olivetreekeeper · 24/12/2020 23:35

Goan style fish curry. We always have fish on Christmas eve! Tasted lovely but our room smells ever so slightly noxious now...

Mominatrix · 24/12/2020 23:35

I made a chicken, kale, and butternut squash pastilla.

Natsel84 · 24/12/2020 23:37

Curry was yummy

MadameBlobby · 24/12/2020 23:38

A bacon and egg roll

I had a large late lunch out so that was all I fancied later

BeautifulandWilfulandDead · 24/12/2020 23:40

Also sushi, gyoza and bao buns followed by mince pies and Ferraro rocher! 😁

Sarahplane · 24/12/2020 23:41

Chinese

DeRigueurMortis · 24/12/2020 23:42

Rack of lamb with a herb crust, red wine gravy and dauphinois potatoes and green beans.

Pudding was lemon tart.

'Twas yummy...

Parky04 · 24/12/2020 23:44

Steak and chips. Treacle tart and custard for pudding.

WeAllHaveWings · 25/12/2020 00:31

Changi · 25/12/2020 00:38

Slow roasted leg of lamb, dauphinois potatoes and green beans.

SilverOtter · 25/12/2020 00:39

Buffet courtesy of M&S. Roast ham, baked Brie, sausage rolls, pigs in blankets etc. ''Twas yummy😋

GenderCriticalGoddess · 25/12/2020 01:16

Baked, halved sweet potatoes, cooked then topped with Brie and cranberry sauce and heated through.
With green salad, tomatoes, homemade coleslaw with cashew nuts, hummus, dips, crudite, crackers, cheese platter
and beetroot.
It was lovely, I don't feel very well so just ate what I fancied.
I do like sweet potatoes cooked this way. I first had it in Rainbows End cafe in Glastonbury and so it has great memories attached.

I love how food makes these strong connections, just like smell and sound.

HarrietteNightingale · 25/12/2020 02:06

Starter was breaded mushrooms and chilli garlic ketchup and mayonnaise dip

Main was toad in the hole, buttery mash, cauliflower cheese and the mushroom, onion and red wine gravy I've made for tomorrow.
