Just that really. Do you have a special ‘Christmas Eve meal? Takeaway? Buffet?

Oysters for a starter and then homemade fish pie. Rudolph chocolate cheesecake from Tesco for pudding!

alwaysraining123 · 24/12/2020 21:42

We have turkey with all the trimmings at lunch on Christmas Eve lunch and then the leftovers on sandwiches tomorrow. We had a pizza to share for supper which was lovely.

Roominmyhouse · 24/12/2020 21:43

Fillet steak, jacket potato and salad. It was lush. Just had a couple of crackers and cheese followed by some chocolate orange segments. Yum!

Dominos picnic in the living room. New tradition! We laughed at how much we would never be allowed to do that if certain other (lovely) family members were visiting.

pastapestoparmesan · 24/12/2020 21:46

Fish pie and Yule log, both made by me and both delicious!

FrenchyQ · 24/12/2020 21:48

No special meal. We all had something different.. DH had chicken kievs, Dd had a bowl of pasta, Ds had katsu curry and I had a peanut butter sandwich

ClinkyMonkey · 24/12/2020 21:49

Smoked salmon tagliatelle. One of the few meals everyone in the house is prepared to eat, so makes my life easy. And it's nothing like Christmas dinner because having the same type of meal on consecutive days might cause DP's head to rotate like a scene from The Exorcist ... or maybe his willy would drop off. I dunno, but it must be something awful, considering the look of incredulity on his face when I suggest spuds two night running.

Chinese takeaway. We normally go to an Indian restaurant but obviously can't this year.

vixb1 · 24/12/2020 21:50

BBQ. Our butchers thinks we're very strange when we order burgers in December! But we just wrap up warm to cook it and eat it inside. It's great!

foreverandalways · 24/12/2020 21:52

Mince pie...feeling so very sad and just can't face food

HermannlovesPauline · 24/12/2020 21:52

Bacon cabbage and potatoes - we’ve got Irish FIL with us

DrizzleandDamp · 24/12/2020 21:52

Vicliz24 · 24/12/2020 22:04

Soup and toast. We always have a light meal on Christmas Eve.

BiddyPop · 24/12/2020 22:05

Normally platter of cured meats, salad bits and cheese.

But this year, spiced beef, mashed potato and carrots.

HemlockStarglimmer · 24/12/2020 22:06

Yellow label M&S sandwiches.

Bonkerz · 24/12/2020 22:06

ChronicallyCurious · 24/12/2020 22:06

Cheeseboard!

MrsLeclerc · 24/12/2020 22:10

Always have seafood on Christmas Eve. We had M&S shellfish platter so lobster tails, prawns, crab with some crusty bread. It was lovely and a special treat.

Now I’m on the hunt for something sweet. Might open the after eights.

ivfbabymomma1 · 24/12/2020 22:10

Nando's Xmas Grin

Sgtmajormummy · 24/12/2020 22:15

A whole beetroot with lemon juice for me. Plus some Emmental.
Pasta, Emmental and fruit for the others.
Saving ourselves for tomorrow.

Sunbird24 · 24/12/2020 22:15

We had cauliflower cheese with pigs in blankets. It’s my birthday so I got to choose - I actually asked for macaroni cheese but never mind!

Therealjudgejudy · 24/12/2020 22:18

Macaroni cheese and some lovely fresh crusty bread with real butter Smile
