Just that really. Do you have a special ‘Christmas Eve meal? Takeaway? Buffet?

Oysters for a starter and then homemade fish pie. Rudolph chocolate cheesecake from Tesco for pudding!

We have turkey with all the trimmings at lunch on Christmas Eve lunch and then the leftovers on sandwiches tomorrow. We had a pizza to share for supper which was lovely.

Fillet steak, jacket potato and salad. It was lush. Just had a couple of crackers and cheese followed by some chocolate orange segments. Yum!

Dominos picnic in the living room. New tradition! We laughed at how much we would never be allowed to do that if certain other (lovely) family members were visiting.

Fish pie and Yule log, both made by me and both delicious!

No special meal. We all had something different.. DH had chicken kievs, Dd had a bowl of pasta, Ds had katsu curry and I had a peanut butter sandwich

Smoked salmon tagliatelle. One of the few meals everyone in the house is prepared to eat, so makes my life easy. And it's nothing like Christmas dinner because having the same type of meal on consecutive days might cause DP's head to rotate like a scene from The Exorcist ... or maybe his willy would drop off. I dunno, but it must be something awful, considering the look of incredulity on his face when I suggest spuds two night running.

Chinese takeaway. We normally go to an Indian restaurant but obviously can't this year.

BBQ. Our butchers thinks we're very strange when we order burgers in December! But we just wrap up warm to cook it and eat it inside. It's great!

Dips and crisps and bread and pate in front of the tv watching Die Hard.

Still waiting for my Chinese to arrive ordered at 6, its still not come took an hour to get through and at 9 they said it would take another 40 mins...

Soup and toast. We always have a light meal on Christmas Eve.

Normally platter of cured meats, salad bits and cheese.

But this year, spiced beef, mashed potato and carrots.

Yellow label M&S sandwiches.

Chinese food then we all washed up and tidied kitchen and set table for Christmas Day dinner.

Cheeseboard!

Always have seafood on Christmas Eve. We had M&S shellfish platter so lobster tails, prawns, crab with some crusty bread. It was lovely and a special treat.

Now I’m on the hunt for something sweet. Might open the after eights.

A whole beetroot with lemon juice for me. Plus some Emmental.
Pasta, Emmental and fruit for the others.
Saving ourselves for tomorrow.

We had cauliflower cheese with pigs in blankets. It’s my birthday so I got to choose - I actually asked for macaroni cheese but never mind!
