Thanks @raindropsonrosesand for the title

I just accidentally set up the thread in the wrong talk board 🤦🏻‍♀️!

Think this will be the thread with Christmas Day on it. I hope all of you have wonderful christmases (well, as wonderful as possible atm) and everyone enjoys all the bargains and you’ve saved money. We’ve been quite careful this year and I’ve definitely saved even more money than usual!

Keep an eye on the sales, I’m assuming the actual shops, given many are closed in the SE atm, will have pretty mega discounts to shift stock once they’re reopened.

You’ve all kept me sane in a slightly insane world this year, here’s to next year Brew Wine Thanks

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth ds3 had hot wires. He loved it and it was well used. However it really is his thing and he had two older brothers to help him.

I've missed the last few threads so not sure if this has been mentioned but saw the Lego hogwarts express on Aldi for £65

@SilkieAndMoonface

Can anyone help me with my Dad's present for his birthday in early January please?

I want to make up a hamper of sweet treats from other countries. I am going to put an order in with the Japan Centre, and was hoping to do a Scandi Kitchen order too but they're not accepting online orders now until January so wouldn't be here in time. Can anyone recommend anywhere similar? Can be any country. Bargainous would be a lovely bonus.

eBay do a variety of American sweets in a hamper. Could possibly look for other countries on there too. I used cravingcandy1 and the delivery was quick, before estimated time. It’s a present so haven’t opened it but the pictures look good.

Help! I have now ordered 2 Ender Dragon soft toys (minecraft) and it would seem neither is coming! I could cry.this is my 5 year olds only thing he has asked santa for! Orderedone on ebay which never arrived. And a second which was supposedly dispatched 5 days ago but still no tracking info. So..... has anyone seen one anywhere which I could do next day shipping on?!!

Raindropsonrosesand · 22/12/2020 23:50

Oh Notlongnow1, that sounds so stressful. Could you get him a different black dragon, like this one which would be delivered tomorrow? Five may be young enough to use his imagination and be quite flexible.

TheCrow · 22/12/2020 23:55

@Notlongnow1 there's quite a few on Facebook marketplace, could you see if there's any listed nearby that you could collect in person? I'd suggest typing in a few different terms like ender dragon, Minecraft dragon or just dragon to bring up the most results

SparklingLime · 23/12/2020 00:23

I’ve had a look, @Notlongnow1, and it might be worth contacting this company:

www.geekswag.co.uk/contact-us/

Officially their last guaranteed Christmas order date was Tues 3pm, but they do say to email them if you want something urgently and that they are working evenings/weekends at the moment. So they might be the sort of small operation that can respond quickly:

“ If you need something urgently, please email us to see what we can do – we’ll always try our best!”

www.geekswag.co.uk/product/minecraft-ender-dragon-60cm-large-plush-toy/

The other possibility would be to contact an eBay seller to see if they could send one Special delivery tomorrow, but I can’t a seller that looks like an personal business iyswim.

Good luck!

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 23/12/2020 00:39

@Notlongnow1 I am almost certain that there is one, still with tags, in my sons cupboard. I would be happy to post special delivery to you tomorrow, and you send me a replacement when yours arrives. It depends on how you feel about it though because technically it’s second hand. All he ever did was have it as occasional room decoration though. (And unfortunately I can’t check if it’s still there until the morning).

Game sometimes have minecraft teddies
Notlongnow1 · 23/12/2020 07:51

@sparklinglime sadly that is the company that has let us down!

@twnkltwnkllittlestarfighter if you could check and it wouldn't be a complete pain in the bum given how mad life it is that would be amazing

@raindropsonrosesand he is pretty specific about what he wanted but definitely looking most likely plan with a "oops sorry Elf thought you would prefer something friendlier looking and unfortunately I didn't see what they had made until last minute... I have them working on a scarier looking ender dragon now and will arrive soon" type note from santa.

@thecrow I did try marketplace and nothing coming up but will try some different search terms thanks

HoHoHolyMackerel · 23/12/2020 07:52

Hmm yesterday I was excited I brought the lego city service station for a four year old, it's 5+ and I'm looking at it now thinking the pieces are too small. Any input please? Am I being ridiculous? They have a younger brother. I see they do a 4+ service station but none in stock atm

Someaddedsugar · 23/12/2020 07:56

@HoHoHolyMackerel I've bought 5+ Lego for our 3 year old and I'll be building it with him. I'm sure it'll be fine Smile

HoHoHolyMackerel · 23/12/2020 07:59

Ah OK. Thanks. I'm worried about the little one eating the bits Shock first time parent... Haha

SparklingLime · 23/12/2020 08:29

Oh no, @Notlongnow1! Luckily the wonderful offer from @TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter sounds like the start of another thread Christmas Miracle 😊

SilkieAndMoonface · 23/12/2020 09:38

@straighthairdontcare thanks, I'm trying to put together a mixed hamper rather than solely an American one, but I hadn't thought of ebay, I'm sure they'll have individual things too.

Thanks to everyone who helped, I've put an order in with GB Gifts and the Japan Centre so he's got stuff due from the UAE, Canada, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Korea and Japan. Xmas Smile I'll investigate ebay, and after Christmas will try the Polish shop in the nearest town.

SANZA sell Aus, NZ and S. African chocolate, crisps, biscuits, alcohol and other cupboard ingredients. Can heartily recommend TimTams (biscuits), Violet Crumbles and Cherry Ripes (chocolate bars), any Whittakers chocolate slabs and Rashuns/Burger Rings and Grain Waves (crisps)

sugarplumfairy2010 · 23/12/2020 09:56

Disney colour brain is on offer for £13.49. Delivered tomorrow with prime. Nearly bought it last week but didn't want to spend £20 glad I waited.

WheresMrMonkey · 23/12/2020 10:01

Can anyone help? I remember last year people saying about a game of throwing a dice getting a pressie, certain numbers meant you do certain things like steal/swop?

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 23/12/2020 10:03

@Notlongnow1 Yes, we have one. No tags on, but pristine condition. I’m going out at 12 and can drop at the post office then (unless some other delivery company is quicker). If you would like him, DM me your address by then Xmas Smile
