Thanks @raindropsonrosesand for the title

I just accidentally set up the thread in the wrong talk board 🤦🏻‍♀️!

Think this will be the thread with Christmas Day on it. I hope all of you have wonderful christmases (well, as wonderful as possible atm) and everyone enjoys all the bargains and you’ve saved money. We’ve been quite careful this year and I’ve definitely saved even more money than usual!

Keep an eye on the sales, I’m assuming the actual shops, given many are closed in the SE atm, will have pretty mega discounts to shift stock once they’re reopened.

You’ve all kept me sane in a slightly insane world this year, here’s to next year Brew Wine Thanks

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.

Thanks for the recommendation of Exploding Kittens it was a big hit, we all love it.
The ice cream sundae hamper I made for DNs was well received.
Thanks for the skate hut recommendation, DS loves his board, unfortunately due to icy conditions he hasn’t had chance to try it out properly yet.
The only miss so far was a skin for the Xbox controller, he has to remove it to charge it so hasn’t bothered with it.

IggyAce · 01/01/2021 10:21

@woodwaj how old is DS?

woodwaj · 01/01/2021 10:36

@IggyAce he is going to be 6. But asd with delayed learning so prob a little behind other kids developmental wise. He got a switch for Xmas off grandad so recommendations for games that don't require any reading would go down well too!

Argos crafty little kids 8 in 1 set further reductions. Was £30 now £5.50 age 6+

Bezzi · 01/01/2021 12:21

Thanks @Mrsfussypants1 just bought a couple for birthdays later in the year! Brilliant bargain and good reviews too

Mario Karts probably one of the best games if he hasn’t already got it, I’m useless at gaming but can just about manage to play it. Dd loves the pokemon games and animal crossing but I think there’s a lot of reading in them, she has bought the sonic game the classic sonic games on (can’t remember what it’s called), seems to be a big hit.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 01/01/2021 13:01

Anyone had luck finding bargain reduced Christmas wrapping paper? I was hoping to buy early for next year but I can't actually find any!

Anyone found any?

Mrsfussypants1 · 01/01/2021 13:23

Benzzi ive done the same and bought 2 for upcoming birthdays. Good bargain.

IggyAce · 01/01/2021 14:23

@MostIneptThatEverStepped I got some wrapping paper in card factory 3x 2m rolls for 99p and I got some 4metre rolls from Asda for 38p each.

Bluewavescrashing · 01/01/2021 14:36

I looked around M&S yesterday (whilst buying essentials in the food hall) and found a really nice dressing gown for DS for £9 down from £30 to stash for next year. There were a few random home bits in the sale but nothing else really caught my eye.

I think the supermarkets are doing pretty well at the moment as so few other shops are open in tier 4.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 01/01/2021 14:58

@IggyAce

Thank you! That's more like it 😊

woodwaj · 01/01/2021 18:34

Thanks @Lovemusic33 both of those might be a hit.i was also thinking of Rayman but that might be more nostalgia for me 😅

lockdownromance · 01/01/2021 19:15

I am going to see what Xmas stuff is left in shops on Monday. I am in tier 3. We went to garden centre yesterday and we got crackers and some Xmas decorations half price. They also had a really nice Halloween table decorations on sale.

PinkDaydreams · 01/01/2021 21:20

I'm not sure where to ask now this thread has gone quiet but does anyone know of any Nike codes please?

PinkDaydreams · 01/01/2021 21:33

Or even a student ASOS code please? The 21% off "everything" they were offering tonight didn't work sadly :(

shipperssss · 01/01/2021 21:54

@PinkDaydreams the 21% discount was just 7-9pm sadly.

PinkDaydreams · 02/01/2021 08:31
@PinkDaydreams the 21% discount was just 7-9pm sadly.
I tried using the ASOS code at 7.30 on a pair of Nike trainers but unfortunately wouldn't work :( worked on a couple of jumpers though.

shipperssss · 02/01/2021 10:09

@PinkDaydreams that's a shame! I bought some Adidas trainers and it worked on them Confused

bigarse1 · 02/01/2021 12:40

@woodwaj we have 7 year old twins with ASD and they have a switch. Games we have found that have worked well are mario kart, cars 3, paw patrol and the dancing game (can't remember what it is called). They also have Harry potter which they like but need a lot of help with and leads to a lot of frustration.

woodwaj · 03/01/2021 08:44

Thanks for the switch advice @bigarse1 it's looking like mario kart is a winner isnt it!

bigarse1 · 03/01/2021 09:00

@woodwaj it has been played a lot in this house! (When they don't lose the controller's 😂).

Bezzi · 03/01/2021 09:03

Mario Kart deffo a winner in this house @woodwaj

sorryiasked · 03/01/2021 13:56

Lots of reductions at Hawkins Bazaar, especially HP, fantastic beasts and angry birds.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2021 16:02

We've bought Mario Kart with 2 steering wheels for £43 from Curry's, which wasn't a bad price.
