Thanks @raindropsonrosesand for the title

I just accidentally set up the thread in the wrong talk board 🤦🏻‍♀️!

Think this will be the thread with Christmas Day on it. I hope all of you have wonderful christmases (well, as wonderful as possible atm) and everyone enjoys all the bargains and you’ve saved money. We’ve been quite careful this year and I’ve definitely saved even more money than usual!

Keep an eye on the sales, I’m assuming the actual shops, given many are closed in the SE atm, will have pretty mega discounts to shift stock once they’re reopened.

You’ve all kept me sane in a slightly insane world this year, here’s to next year Brew Wine Thanks

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Just wanted to add that john lewis are price matching the Lego sale in argos which is good as all the argos' near me are out of stock!

Yeknom · 27/12/2020 20:43

It's on a lightning deal with not long left but Treasure Hunt Game GoTrovo which someone recommended is currently just under £15

Yeknom · 27/12/2020 20:43

(On amazon that should say!)

Theonlyoneiknow · 27/12/2020 23:08

Hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed your Christmas, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for their lovely ideas and chit chat over the last few months. It really was a lovely thread, I look forward to it every year.

chocolateallday · 29/12/2020 09:51

Loved this thread in the run up to Christmas, the hotel chocolat, brio and wax lyrical were my best received gifts.

Is there a post Christmas sale bargain thread?

thaegumathteth · 30/12/2020 01:20

Anyone up for helping me with a birthday gift?
8 year old girl
Quiet
Arty
Outdoorsy
Moving house soon
Budget about £30?

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 30/12/2020 05:20

@thaegumathteth how about fairy lights for their new bedroom, etch art, stationery, an oodie type top, nice snuggly blanket. Tbh imo if they don’t already have one and parents are ok with it an Alexa would go down super well.

I forgot to come back sooner to say thank you... 2 MASSIVE hits in my house - the fake oodie from amazon, I'm not sure DD has taken it off yet and I'll be looking for another one for her (she's getting too hot which is near a miracle) and ticket to ride, I've been looking for it for a couple of years and this year got it at the bargain price, we've played it at least once a day since Christmas day 🤣🤣

livingthegoodlife · 30/12/2020 09:42

We are loving ticket to ride too!

Scanner20 · 30/12/2020 10:25

Just want to say a massive thank you for all of the ideas and offers from you all. I enjoyed sharing my own bargains I found. Looking forward to joining again next year.
Puppets were a huge hit with the two dc they were gifted to and so cheap it was unreal.
Happy New Year!

missrabbitismyhero · 30/12/2020 10:37

I have loved this thread this year - thank you all!

Some bargains to be had in the ohh dear sale - greetings cards etc (not just Christmas but birthday etc too) All reduced to around 83p and there is also a 3 for 2 deal on. I just got 20 odd really nice cards for around £15 delivered - I feel super organised for 2021!

CaramelCandle · 30/12/2020 13:24

Picked up kids jumpers for next year from George in store, £2 and £3, some nice stuff so worth checking.

thaegumathteth · 30/12/2020 14:00

Thanks @Reastie

Puffalicious · 30/12/2020 17:48

Can I just add that Blokus is a massive hit in our house! Both teens love it and are asking constantly for another game. DS16 says when tiers change he'll be taking it to his mate's house for all 'the lads' to play! DS8 also likes it but just 2 player so easier. It's now going to to be my birthday present of choice.

thegumatheth how's about that and a nice, new Buff (always a hit with my outdoorsy kids, they love a new pattern/ colour).

Gracesquirrel · 30/12/2020 19:15

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you all for the company and all the wonderful bargains - I actually started my Xmas shopping way back in April as a way to distract me from lockdown which it did and whilst it hasn't really "saved" me any money because I spent what I saved on extra pressies for everyone Grin its been a wonderful distraction and led to a really nice Xmas after all. I have already decided I will probably start for 2021 fairly soon. See you all back here when the 2021 thread goes up. Happy New Year Gin Glitterball Flowers Wine

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 31/12/2020 11:08

@thegumandth my dd is 8. How about a lego dots set? My dd has really enjoyed her photo frame set (part of the 2 for £15 in argos). Shes also loved her lol dolls, cave club dolls. Scratch art, set of nice pens, pencil case and notebook went down well in her stocking. She also likes lego friends, pretty jewellery and hair accessories from claires, smiggle stationary/lunch box, hype backpack for school. Or maybe a nice hat and fingerless gloves set? My dd had some from claires.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 31/12/2020 11:10

oh and kukubird has a huge sale, leggings from £2.10, pants for 95p, basically everything is on sale! The codes for referrals are still working too so great bargains to be had

sorryiasked · 31/12/2020 11:15

Has anyone seen any really cheap novelty tree decorations? I have to theme for a Christmas tree festival every year, but need 40-60 decorations each time.

PinkDaydreams · 31/12/2020 12:02

Does anyone know of any discount codes for personalised photo cards please?

Theonlyoneiknow · 31/12/2020 19:08

Those who bought the hot chocolate shaker would you recommend it?

Mrsfussypants1 · 31/12/2020 19:51

Hatchimals spring flower bouquet was £15 now £5.50 at argos ( sorry i couldn't share link). Fab birthday gift or Easter gift or even valentines gift if you do that sort of thing.

woodwaj · 01/01/2021 08:50

@PinkDaydreams try downloading the moonpig app they just gave me a free card for no reason so I just paid postage.

My ds birthday start of Feb and I am now completely out of ideas 😣
