Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

@1stMrsFatherChristmas The Fabric Fox thefabricfox.co.uk/ and Carroway Cottage www.carrowaycottage.co.uk/ both have beautiful fabrics and The Fabric Fox has free postage too. They come wrapped prettily in tissue paper as well.

What an aptly named thread - hope I can keep up with this one!

I thought I was done, but apparently not. My 5 year old put on his Christmas list an Oogie Boogie man toy from Nightmare Before Christmas. Can I find it in stock? Of course not!

Please, should anyone come across an Oogie Boogie man toy, which isn’t coming from the states or China, please let me know.

I preferred the Disney or build a bear versions, as the others look like I could have made it!

Thanks :)

Lolly12 · 12/12/2020 07:46

@Cat0115 here is the QVC referral link. £10 off first order x

Someaddedsugar · 12/12/2020 07:46

@AhBorisSTFU there are a couple on eBay - almost double the price of the Disney store though!

RugsEverywhere · 12/12/2020 07:55

Quilting This is a good shop. Other idea Spoonflower gift pack 20% off at the moment. It's a company that lets you design your own fabric. I had a pack a few years ago and loved it.

Lolly12 · 12/12/2020 07:57

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts I’d been looking for the Logo Game too and saw it in Asda last night for £20 and looks like Amazon are price matching too. Anyone know what age it’s suitable for?

Vickles20 · 12/12/2020 08:02

Still no national trust order here. I wouldn’t order anything again this side of Xmas from them

1stMrsFatherChristmas · 12/12/2020 08:09

@Papillon1 and @RugsEverywhere thank you for those suggestions that's brilliant

WisestIsShe · 12/12/2020 08:10

Thanks @Chailatte20 but it's for DM and she really wants the deluxe Scrabble which they don't have. The board has an actual grid on it which holds the tiles in place.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 12/12/2020 08:24

Can anyone recommend a company that would post a present direct but keep the sender anonymous? I want to send a present to someone who hates getting presents but really needs one!

If that makes sense! Any kind of present really could do. Its for a man.

Puffalicious · 12/12/2020 08:28

Iwillnever I think mandmdirect would do this. Their delivery is quick too.

Elpheba · 12/12/2020 08:30

Just wanted to say thanks for the whistlefish tip for greetings cards. My order arrived and I’m so impressed with the quality of the cards and the designs were beautiful. One was out of stock but rather than delay shipment they put in a note saying they chose a similar card and added two free cards. Works out at 80p delivered for each card when you buy in bulk.
I know card factory are cheap but they’re so identifiable as card factory cards 😳 so it’s nice to find something a bit different! I’ve got a referral code but it’s my name so pm me if anyone wants to try it.

Also- I have a matalan code for 20% off excluding kids wear if anyone wants it shoot me a pm

@AhBorisSTFU last year DD asked for something that was oos on the website. I spent a few hrs calling around stores and eventually found one 120miles away. Asked the manager to hold it for me and she said don’t be ridiculous... paid it over the phone and she posted it to me the same day.

Perhaps worth a try?

AhBorisSTFU · 12/12/2020 08:46

@Someaddedsugar that’s what I’m trying to avoid. It’s ridiculous, isn’t?! He has only got into it this year and it’s not a main gift. I’ve already had to buy HP paraphernalia for his stocking! Lol.

AhBorisSTFU · 12/12/2020 08:46

@AhBorisSTFU That’s a decent idea. Will give it a go! Thanks.

It really irritates me when people knowingly buy things to profit from them. I know it's an irrational irritation but it just feels mean, especially at Christmas!

Just a word of warning for anyone ordering from Lands End. I ordered slippers end of November to be then told delay in dispatch. Then just had another email with further delay, so not holding out much hope they’ll come before Xmas. At least they’re keeping me updated but why show products as in stock when they aren’t?

slithytoveisascientist · 12/12/2020 09:03

@EweSurname what about one of these www.woolovers.com/searchresults?keyword=Dressing+gown

TrickyD · 12/12/2020 09:10

If you can bear to buy today’s Sun, it has a voucher for £10 off a £40 spend in Lidl.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 12/12/2020 09:42

I don't believe it's possible to buy it here. And if I did, I'd be run out of town!

Fuckingfuckssake · 12/12/2020 09:43

@WisestIsShe I got our Deluxe Scrabble on Facebook but there were lots of second hand versions on eBay too?

Puffalicious · 12/12/2020 09:44

Lolly12 Gah, just this morning ordered slippers for ex MIL from Landsend. I'm so late as gave ExH the Landsend catalogue weeks ago and said "She likes these ones. Buy them from the boys to go with her main present." Of course he hasn't got round to it!!!! He IS NHS and rushed off his feet in A&E but still!

Well, he'll need to fess up if they don't arrive. (Mutters to self about needing to organise 2 men- exH and DH).
