Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

SisterNight · 12/12/2020 09:52

Top cash back offering 100% back on Waterstones up to the value of £10

SisterNight · 12/12/2020 09:52

Forgot to bold sorry!

Chailatte20 · 12/12/2020 09:53

The Lidl £10 off voucher is in the Times, I'd never buy the Sun but can just about bring myself to buy the Times.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 12/12/2020 09:54

I think that's got new Top Cashback users only.

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 12/12/2020 09:56

Nintendo switch - with ring fit. I see Argos have it for £340 and Amazon for £330. I don’t suppose anyone has seen anything better, or knows of any discount tip?

Are “Argos codes” still a thing and how do they work?

pigletpie2177 · 12/12/2020 10:23

@Iggi999

Just bought that Baker Street game, thanks for the tip!
Which Baker Street games Iggi? We love a bit of Sherlock in this house so may have it already but I'd love a link if you have one!
TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 12/12/2020 10:25

@pigletpie2177 it’s Baker Street Game [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00067U6R4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_YOj1FbJ6H6YHF?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 this one]]. (I got one too. DS is mad about Sherlock Holmes).

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 12/12/2020 10:26

Oops! Link fail this one

SnowDoggy · 12/12/2020 10:33

My Hotel Chocolat 'Nice List' bundle arrived this morning and it is fab! Going to split it up between a couple of people.

The only thing I'm waiting for is a onesie ive ordered from Boohoo man on Black Friday and it still hasn't arrived!!

MeMarmite · 12/12/2020 10:38

Just saw this pop up on my twitter feed - a colouring book with matching poems for children. Nabbed for 10yo DD. Looks cute.

WisestIsShe · 12/12/2020 10:40

@Fuckingfuckssake thanks but I'm really hoping for a new one.

TheCrow · 12/12/2020 10:45

Wondering if the Waterstones cashback offer will work if I use my plus card balance to pay for my order as I have £10 credit available. Has anyone done anything similar using a points balance, does cashback still work?

margaritasbythesea · 12/12/2020 10:55

Can anyone who has the 221b Baker Streer game advuse me whether a bright 10 year old would enjoy it? I decided not when I looked at it in Waterstones but I keep thinking about it.

TrickyD · 12/12/2020 11:33

@ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy

I don't believe it's possible to buy it here. And if I did, I'd be run out of town!
Yes, DH came back from Lidl and his first words were ‘If you’re wondering why I bought the Sun...... ‘. Another poster pointed out that the voucher is in the Times too. Our Lidl doesn’t sell that. Xmas Grin

Me and my Dd 19 struggle with some of the clues to be honest Confused maybe if you played it in pairs
HoHoHolyMackerel · 12/12/2020 11:44

Has anyone else had issues with photobox? I made a couple of calendars weeks ago and when they arrived they had the letter B printed on the photos for random months.... Second batch just arrived and the same bloody thing!! Now got to wait for another batch hopefully to arrive in time to get to the grandparents Angry

lolarabbit · 12/12/2020 11:45

Just thought I'd share a positive Parcel Force experience - daughter sent 3 parcels to us through their collect from door service. Collected yesterday afternoon, arrived here, on other side of the country, this morning. (I used Hermes for my return parcel and that also arrived in less than the advertised time frame) Maybe personal parcels are fairing better than the bulk operations from retailers?

pigletpie2177 · 12/12/2020 11:53

Ahh thanks @TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter we do have that one but that's a great price! @imnottoofussed agree re bright 10 year old - would almost certainly still need an adult in their team.

pigletpie2177 · 12/12/2020 11:54

Oops sorry should have tagged @margaritasbythesea

dizzygirl1 · 12/12/2020 12:02

@margaritasbythesea we got 221b Baker street last year, ds was 10 and DD 12. It's brilliant but we do generally play in pairs as it's a bit easier that way but we've had family friends over (Jan 2020....)and played.... The kids worked in pairs and adults singley. We really like this game

ElfAndSafetyInspector · 12/12/2020 12:29

Thanks for the candle / soapy recommendations everyone. Dithered between Neom and Diptyque for ages!

TheCrow · 12/12/2020 12:40

Got a Matalan 20% off code. I thought I sent it to another user a while ago but I keep getting 'don't forget to use your code' emails so if anyone wants to give it a go I can PM it over but it might not work!

Amazon has the echo dot 4th gen down to £30 from £50 but delivery is between 24-27th Dec for prime members

margaritasbythesea · 12/12/2020 12:56

@Imnottoofussed @dizzygirl1 @pigletpie2177 Thanks for the information on 221b. I'll lrave it until he's older. There's usually an adult and two children playing so may not work well (especially as bright 10yo really really likes to get things right. Sigh.)

Chocolateteabag · 12/12/2020 13:05

@buckeejit - my 15C Eufy is on it's way back to them (it refused to even charge up) so sounds like it's replacement won't be coming until after Christmas.
@TheLastStarfighter - hope your 15C behaves but do keep the box etc it came in just in case!.
