Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Name of link

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@CoffeeAndEnnui Asda had cheap but cute penguin fleece blankets in the other day, they could pad out your sacks!

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 18/12/2020 16:04

will there be a sales thread on MN soon? I know sales start early?

Purpleheadgirl · 18/12/2020 16:39

@CoffeeAndEnnui you could also try a charge back from your bank if they haven't arrived and you paid by debit card

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 18/12/2020 16:43

I’m missing bargain shopping and everyone on this thread!

Still missing a few wee bits in the post, but fortunately nothing major. I’d already decided that the AliExpess orders weren’t going to get here till Jan, but some bits have started showing up. Still trying to cancel my Zavvi order which has been “processing” since mid November.

Still wondering how you lot obtain these mystery Argos codes?

And enjoying my bargain Black Friday Eufy Grin

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 17:06

Thanks all, I really appreciate the advice, this thread never fails to make me feel warm and fuzzy every year! Have posted on the Oodie FB page in hopes of a faster/any response and sent messages on every possible platform too. I don't think the Oodie logistics email (posted on the previous page) makes much sense, especially in light of the fact they are still taking bloody orders.

GoblinDaughter · 18/12/2020 17:20

@MattTebbutsForearms Thank you but FP are telling you lies, it’s been out since December 1st, I’ve gone to buy it once or twice then got distracted and abandoned it

Oh! Abort! Just rang Forbidden Planet and it’s been delayed due to a printing error so isn’t actually out. Will try find another Mando related book

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 18/12/2020 17:58

@GoblinDaughter it is out n US though. £36 delivered here but no guarantee of Christmas delivery.

margaritasbythesea · 18/12/2020 20:41

CoffeeAndEnnui -it is awful customer service not to offer you a tefund snd thank you for your understanding. I was prepared to be sympathetic to them but this would have made me livid. Angry On your behalf.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 18/12/2020 21:07

Argos code for £11 off £110 spend.

A76A98KZ57HS

That’s a terrible email about the oodies, cheeky to expect you to just suck it up!

I’ve unexpected got to get a small gift for 3 toddlers of different sexes and ages 1-3.5 but I want to get them all the same thing for under £10 each. My back up is books unless anyone has any good ideas? Don’t really want a toy as I don’t know them well and don’t know what they have.

JustanotherTuesday · 18/12/2020 21:49

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight Thank you so much for the Argos code. I managed to get my ring Smile

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 22:02

@margaritasbythesea, right?! It was the tone of the email that pissed me off so much. These things happen but considering it followed half a dozen "Don't panic, your delivery is imminent..." reassurances I expected something a bit more apologetic and informative. I have £250+ tied up in that delivery. Money they've happily kept for months. I would rather like some acknowledgement of that and the inconvenience. Not impressed.

TheGriffle · 18/12/2020 22:43

Does anyone know the best place for bargainous selection boxes? Just general Cadbury type ones. I need a few!

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 18/12/2020 22:48

@TheGriffle Tesco had some still on offer.

Whydidimarryhim · 18/12/2020 22:53

I’ve bought three selection boxes and ate them all!!
They are dangerous things. 😀

TheGriffle · 18/12/2020 23:11

I bought 6 for people and have ended up giving them to others I hadn’t intended so more are required. Will check Tesco tomorrow if I can brave it, thank you!

caffeineanddryshampoo · 18/12/2020 23:22

Not sure why I hadn't thought about it before but I've suddenly realised that I need all sorts of Christmassy bits and bobs. We usually go to family for Xmas but this we're year staying at home. I'm panicking that I don't even have a suitable tablecloth, let alone candle centrepiece etc. I'm the kids won't care but any ideas where to look for bargains?

thaegumathteth · 18/12/2020 23:32

@caffeineanddryshampoo I had the same realisation and am stuck in the house until after Xmas so got a paper Xmas tablecloth from my Asda order. I'll use my woodwork candle on the table.

Baileysoncereal · 19/12/2020 00:09

@TheGriffle I got some quite cheap at Aldi today. They were the only place I could find any!

margaritasbythesea · 19/12/2020 00:15

caffeineanddryshampoo I use my usual white with a red runner down the middle. Home bargains have a lovely smelling gingerbread candle for a couple of quid. It's really eay to twist some garden greenery into a circle to go round it. Once the crackers and wine glasses are on it looks properly Christmassy.

Coffeandennui Totally. Because you're their fwend, right?

Rockhopper81 · 19/12/2020 00:34

I've bought my parents a set of non-transitive dice as part of their Christmas present - would it be totally evil of me to remove the instructions/explanation from the box, therefore guaranteeing I win on first playing?? Or is that just taking it too far?!

My dad and I particularly have an ongoing contest to trick/win over the other...I will be there when they open it, so I wouldn't prolong the agony too long...

SparklingLime · 19/12/2020 01:05

DO IT, @Rockhopper81!! 😉

Squ1ggle · 19/12/2020 05:04

Does anyone have a link to the Sienna knock off oodies? I'm confused as online home store seems to be a sort of magazine site. Is it online home shop? They have a section for hoodie blankets but can't see a Sienna so maybe it's out of stock

LikeSilentRaindrops · 19/12/2020 05:17

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight Aldi had some nice gift sets of ‘that’s not my...’ books and soft toys for £7 when I was there on Wednesday.

Otherwise, a water doodle mat is good for that age, or mess free colouring book amazon.co.uk/dp/B07N6XVPT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_jRy3FbE946VZQ]]

My toddler is also very into stacking and building, so would be worth checking out any Jacques of London offers on Amazon such as amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NCZTMLK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_UTy3FbJMEKT3Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1]]

Raindancer411 · 19/12/2020 05:52

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight On Bargainmax they have paint-sation on the go sets for £4.99 each
