Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

M&Co have a sale on.
I've just twitched on these very cute teen sloth pj's for £7.99 even though I am officially 'done'!
Only two sizes left in stock (140cm and 158cm) but I had an alert on for these two sizes so I am happy. Free delivery over £10.

Today was going to be my day to twitch, I even had a few nice bits I was going to treat myself to.

But the garage has just called so I'll be treating myself to 3 new tyres and various other car related bits :(

So no twitching for frivolous things but I do still need a main present for ds, he's 15 and hasn't asked for anything. All my other shopping is not only done but wrapped as well.

Scout2016 · 18/12/2020 12:24

I am such a div. Not only did I twitch on stocking fillers I then convinced myself based on a couple of bad reviews that the company was unreliable so ordered from somewhere else. Then got a dispatch notice for the first order.

FilthyforFirth · 18/12/2020 12:32

I see your sorted now @thepurplegirl but I was going to suggest this print. It is match commentary from memorable games in poster form. Got my footy mad DH one.

I just had the following message from Oodie. To say I am cross is a massive understatement, they have had my money for months and the order contains all the main presents for our family and for my best friend. I could scream!!! Not even an offer of a refund, what on earth are they playing at?!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 18/12/2020 12:41

@GoblinDaughter hive.co.uk lists that book as out of stock due to customs delays. What a pain! I guess at least they warn you that you wouldn't get it before Christmas...

Does anyone know how taking money from your TCB account works for buying an Amazon gift card?! I have almost enough to buy a gift card for DB (his choice of Christmas present!) but would have to add a little bit to it. Can that be done or does it literally only give me that amount to spend?! Apologies for sounding a bit clueless but I've only taken a cash payment before - then it struck me that that was a bit pointless as I was using the payment to buy a gift card I could purchase via TCB anyway Confused

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 12:42

(So cross I forgot to attach message contents)

From Andrew F, logistics, Oodie:

I am beyond sorry to be emailing you again regarding your 15th of December pre-order.

We know this is not what you want to read but unfortunately we have again run into unforeseen issues with your fulfilment which may have been the ultimate cause behind the other delays we have advised of.

After noting that your order was processing and being assured by our Fulfilment provider the orders would be sent by the end of the week, we have now been notified that processing orders may now not be sent due to unreceived stock in the fulfilment centre itself.

Your allocated stock is currently held at Felixstowe Port and due to Brexit causing truck shortages there is no way for us to get this stock to our distribution centre and out to you in the timeline previously provided.

We have tried relentlessly to find trucks to get these containers picked up from the Port but our freight forwarder has advised that with the situation the way it is there are none available. Their current estimate is that these will be able to be collected from the Port until mid-January.

A large team are researching and still looking for solutions in the hope of getting them sooner but we want to be transparent and realistic in the fact that your order may now be sent an entire month later than originally advised when you purchased.

This year has thrown endless challenges in the way of logistics and freight and while we had added an extra month already to pre-order dates to ensure more than ample packing time and room for delays, in our current global climate, this has proven to still not have been enough.

Your order is still in our system, it is queued and it will be sent as soon as possible but we realise that this is likely a Christmas gift.

We believe in our product and believe that you will love your Oodie but we understand that we have let you down. We promise we will continue to learn from this mistake and improve our business.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for our inability to get your order out in time.

We appreciate your understanding.

Hi does anybody have a code for Argos please ? There's a ring there I would like for my Birthday in January.
H Samuel have got a sale on certain watches.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 12:53

15th December Oodie update Further to the email above saying they are going to be delayed by a month, their customer service phone line has now been disabled and the recorded message says emails will be responded to in 4-5 DAYS. I have 6 missing Oodies and no money to replace them unless they refund me.

Thanks @FilthyforFirth I'll bear that in mind for his big birthday next year.

Daisy829 · 18/12/2020 13:16

Oh no @CoffeeAndEnnui that’s really annoying. What a shame that you’ve had that experience. Drives me mad that businesses just turn their phones off.

PinkJam · 18/12/2020 13:18

It’s really not on that they are keeping your money even though they have admitted they don’t actually know when the items will arrive!

Daisy829 · 18/12/2020 13:20

Thank you to the poster who suggested the online home store for weighted blankets. Mine has arrived today. Looks great. Can’t wait to try it tonight.

SpamIAm · 18/12/2020 13:58

@CoffeeAndEnnui I'd be really cross too! A load of unnecessary jargon in that email and no acceptance of any blame themselves. And I can't believe they're not offering refunds, but as long as they'll learn from this experience then it's all good right? 🤨 I don't suppose you paid by PayPal and could open a dispute?

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 14:08

Oh my goodness, I might have PP'd the Oodies! What a clever thought, @SpamIAm, I'm off to investigate!

The missing ones are all treats for adults who've had a really shite year (on top of the one we're all having), I got a B&M initial sack to put each one in, fluffy socks and some pampering/comfort food bits to accompany them. Now I'm going to be giving...socks in a sack. Oopsie Xmas Confused

Bryna · 18/12/2020 14:10

@Lovemusic33 I've also got my DD a subscription to 'Octane' magazine, it was £5 for the first 5(?) issues then £27 per 6months thereafter, I know she'll love reading all about her fave cars. Unfortunately the first one doesn't arrive until after Christmas so I went into WHSmiths this morning to pick up a double issue ( evo and octane) to give her with a gift certificate

Theimpossiblegirl · 18/12/2020 14:25

@CoffeeAndEnnui
It's not too late for Sienna knock off Oodies from the online home store. They're a bargain and big and soft.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 18/12/2020 14:30

I saw this and thought of this thread!

Thank you, I will take a look, she loves magazines.

boobybum · 18/12/2020 14:48

A PP mentioned that you could get fake oodies from Savers for £14.99.
I’ve ordered one and although the quality isn’t amazing I think for the price it is very good.
I like the fact that the sleeves aren’t too long (oodies and other fakes seem to have really really long sleeves) and the material is warm but not overly thick so I think you could still get on with life whilst wearing one! They are also reversible with a pocket on each side.
Mine came within a couple of days of ordering too.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/12/2020 14:56

@Theimpossiblegirl, I'm just filling a basket from there with weighted blankets so will have a nose, thanks! And thanks for all the suggestions, support. In the big scheme of things it's not the end of the world but I'm just so grumpy to have my surprises ruined. At the moment my plan is to give DD her sloth Oodie early - we had our 8th December delivery two days ago - and take a pic of her in it to put in the saggy sacks of all the adults missing their version. Luckily they are all sloths in this batch and the other designs I had from 8th have been sent on to friends. Just trying to find cute blankets or something to pad out the sacks. DP and I will have to wait to match DD. He will be pleased about this!

SparklingLime · 18/12/2020 15:00

That is awful, @CoffeeAndEnnui. I just went to their website - not a mention of any problems, so people will be ordering not knowing about the current problems. On Trustpilot a woman in Canada is having the same issues - they can hardy blame Brexit for that!

RugsEverywhere · 18/12/2020 15:15

I'm imagining a team of MNers down the docks levering open shipping containers...

FizzyPink · 18/12/2020 15:19

There was someone on our NextDoor page this morning looking for someone to give her a lift to Felixstowe. I wonder if it’s some poor woman desperate for her Oodies 😂

Yeknom · 18/12/2020 15:19

Our sink was stuck at the port. Managed to get it a week later, so fingers crossed for the oodies!
