Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

Name change, but regular poster here. I know DryRobes were mentioned eons ago. Anyone know if they do deals in the New Year? So expensive. My DD is 9 and I'm not sure if I want to spend over £100, but she is a keen watersports girl.

sorryiasked · 15/12/2020 21:58

@becles I'm pretty sure the machine in Tesco does 3 x 3 on one of the options in its instant mini prints. (Gives a choice if 6 x 4 or 6 x 8 cms first but when you select one if these it comes up with various options of multi photos)

If you know anyone who’s a student or NHS (and a few other occupations) they can get 10% discount which might help a bit.

To start for the birthdays you have early next year.. (well that's my line at least!)
TheCrow · 15/12/2020 22:40

@MattTebbutsForearms can't help sorry but I'm guessing you've been watching Great British Menu? 😂

margaritasbythesea · 15/12/2020 22:42

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter I had similar with Zaavi with items I ordered on pre order. I gave up in the end and ordered elsewhere. I haven't had problems with things they have in stock. In fact, delivery has been quick.

Avoca76 · 15/12/2020 22:44

@Scout2016 I bought these over lockdown and they have been great.

Doordye · 15/12/2020 23:21

I’ve given up on PS5 for DS. To try and ease his disappointment I’m going to upgrade his gaming gear.
I’ve been looking for the Razer ultimate basilisk & charging stand. Curry’s for £145 is the best I can find. I’ve not even looked at wireless keyboards yet so if anyone has a gamer and can recommend, it’s got to be a quality one as he’s moving from wired to wireless.

Thanks for any help

1stMrsFatherChristmas · 15/12/2020 23:35

A PP recommended a website called pod pouch, selling leather cases for apple airpods. I've ordered and paid via PayPal but am a bit suspicious of the company. Has anyone received anything from them? Proceed with caution. Just that there are a few different names and website addresses associated with them, contact email address is weird, social media footprint minimal and they haven't despatched as expected. Should have looked a bit more closely at the time but have been so well served by this thread that I was a bit more trusting than I should have been. If it turns out to be genuine but just small co I will report back, but not optimistic.

Ruralretreating · 15/12/2020 23:57

@Delahot I have a milk/egg allergic child. The Moo free Santa/snowman are tasty and suitable. I would definitely give chocolate if that’s what all the others are getting, unless you know they don’t like chocolate. My son is pretty accepting of alternatives (Haribo or Squashies) instead of chocolate but gets a little deflated sometimes when most people get cake and he gets a biscuit for example.

Hellofayearsofar · 16/12/2020 00:36

I would love someone to DM me a Lakeland code

DillieDoily · 16/12/2020 00:38

MAC

jingleballing · 16/12/2020 00:51

Not completely bargain related but possibly could be ! Can anyone help me out please? I've had a look through all the presents for the dc and am starting to really panic ! Lots for dd2 and dd3 but hardly anything for dd1 -

she's 11 years old (12 in March) so just started secondary school.
Very much into her art and drawing
Loves reading. Devours books. A huge Harry Potter fan (but has lots of Harry Potter stuff already) so that type of book would be good. Possibly a kindle ? But it's another screen isn't it, that's the worry there. We are running out of bookshelf space though, her books take up one entire bookshelf in the playroom. Also, a book is a book isn't it ! The feel and smell of a book is unparalleled ! Will she feel that way too though? I don't know . She has recently been bought an expensive laptop by dh for school work so doesn't need a device.

Her Amazon wish list was 100% art supplies which I've ordered but it's almost like stocking filler type of things such as mechanical pencils and kneadable rubbers (whatever that may be, she doesn't get her artistic gene from me Grin)

Very very stuck and panicking now ! Please help!

TheCrow · 16/12/2020 01:05

@jingleballing how about a light box for drawing? Sure there was a few USB ones mentioned in these threads that she could plug into her new laptop.
Harry potter adult colouring book? Harry potter dobble?

thaegumathteth · 16/12/2020 01:10

@jingleballing dd is a year younger but things she's getting which might help
Candy floss machine
LED lights for room
Outline pens
Sensory toys because they weirdly seem to be 'In thing'
Invisibility cloak

Dolphintrainer · 16/12/2020 04:36

@jingleballing how about a cool lamp for her bedroom? Perhaps even one with a charging pad on the base (depending on model of her phone).
Does she like baking at all? Perhaps a mug cake book and some ingredients packaged up into a hamper type gift. Or an electric cake pop or cupcake baker.
How about a storage cart to store all her art materials - like the hobbycraft one on wheels or similar type

Restlessinthenorth · 16/12/2020 06:17

Gutted I didn't see the Mac deals earlier. Some fab ones have sold out.

I'm really hoping some good beauty type offers become available in next few days. Otherwise I need to get to some real life shops!

1122christy · 16/12/2020 06:45

@jingleballing I think a kindle is a good idea, esp if she is a reader. Kindle do a kids subscription as well. We got a kindle reduced with free kids subscription recently, deal might still be on. It saves bookcase space plus great for gng on holiday etc. And the good thing is although a device it's only reading you can do on it.
Like someone else said what about something for her room? My daughter loves Harry Potter and I recently got her a Led lightening bolt light from Amazon that's pretty cool. Just search led lights on Amazon for diff types
Or what about a scrapbooking making it, or noticeboard she can pin up pics or her artwork etc.
Not sure how much u are looking to spend but an instax type camera which would go well with scrapbooking or noticeboard too.

margaritasbythesea · 16/12/2020 06:51

Dd 12 is getting a
waffle maker
Milk frother
Oodie fake
Light box
Faber castell pens
Tie dye kit
Friends tShirts
Lights for her room
Pictures for her room
things related to the animal she liketoys she still likes

We thought about an Instax and a Sprocket but decided it would be more fun next year when she can actually see people.

margaritasbythesea · 16/12/2020 06:52

Oh and sampler kits of crafts (latchook, cross stirch etc) so she can see if she likes any of them

Carrie76 · 16/12/2020 07:12

@Iwillneverbesatisfied Just pm’d you a Lakeland code

My dd sounds similar with regards to being arty. She has rock painting sets, a lcd drawing light box thing, a sprocket printer and paper, fairy lights with photo clips.

She also has inline skates, a puzzle and a few soft toys (obsessed with sharks at the moment) alongside the normal clothes and smellies x
