Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

My Sainsbury’s had reduced their own brand Christmas stocking filler type toys today by around a third. Some decent sized craft sets were included which could bulk out main present piles. In the Polish section (I’m not sure if all Sainsbury’s have Polish sections) they had small boxes of dark chocolate covered cherries soaked in cherry liqueur reduced to £1. They’re one of my absolute favourites so I bought them for me, but they’d be brilliant adult stocking fillers.

Puffalicious · 13/12/2020 20:15

Just ordered Blokus thank you. Right, I'm definitely done! Did RL shopping in HBargains today and spent £45 on more stocking stuff. I need to stop!!!

SparklingLime · 13/12/2020 20:16
@SparklingLime try Bothams of Whitby
Thank you, but it turns out their website is closed to new orders!

Fartymcfart · 13/12/2020 20:17

Thank you for the record player suggestions, you are all so helpful.

One last one please, a game suggestion for a couple in their 30s who enjoy board games

lolarabbit · 13/12/2020 20:49

@Fartymcfart A few suggestions
7Wonders Duel
Forbidden Island series
Codenames Duet
Do they usually just play together or sometimes with friends, as some are specifically for 2 players. The Forbidden island ones are 2-4 players I think. They have been recommended on here before for age 10+ but are good cooperative games that we've enjoyed as a group of adults.

teaorwine · 13/12/2020 20:50

@Theimpossiblegirl, I’m in Clonmel next Monday and could drop them if theyre nearby or post from Dublin.

sorryiasked · 13/12/2020 21:20

@Fartymcfart jaipur is a good 2 player game

princessbear80 · 13/12/2020 21:21

@Longbarn5 thanks that what I’ve done and JLP have sorted it!

Whalewithnosnail · 13/12/2020 21:24

A bunch of flowers for £20 delivered from m and s up until christmas eve

I'm not always keen on sending flowers, but this seems like a good year to. When I have been sent flowers the m and s ones have lasted well (not quite as well as the ones that come in a letterbox shaped box)
flowers here

Maranello · 13/12/2020 21:29

@EwDavid I ordered this week from the Fudge House of Edinburgh: got free postage and it arrived super quickly. They have lots of varieties including Scottish butter tablet (yum).

@Mumto3thatsme and @DaisyMaureen how about flowers or a Christmassy plant? They have quite a few on Bloom and Wild. I've popped a referral link over on the referral link if you fancy a tenner off (plenty of other referral links on that thread too Smile)

myhobbyisouting · 13/12/2020 21:38

I bought a game in the works today called Fluff. Looks good and is from the makers of Bananagrams. £3. It's 3 times the price everywhere else

eitak22 · 13/12/2020 21:58

I'm looking to buy a nice locket for my DM 65th just after Christmas. Anyone have any recommendations for one I can put 'you are my sunshine' on as my dad used to sing it and I want to get something 'from' him as it were.

nellyburt · 13/12/2020 22:19

Astley Clarke have lovely lockets.

VividImagination · 13/12/2020 22:20

My Matalan parcel has arrived via Hermes and nothing is missing. I had to wait until ds3 went to bed to open it! I hope everyone else gets theirs soon.
Apart from some food bits I’m now done. Unless there are bargains I can’t resist.

Longbarn5 · 13/12/2020 22:32

Oh that's great news 😁

SewVeryLazy · 13/12/2020 22:36

I thought I was done but my 3yr old has just told our neighbour that the only thing father Christmas is bringing her is wipes for her dolls like the ones we use on her. I've attached a photo. They were cheeky wipes a couple of years ago, no longer on their website (I've emailed the company just in case). They are minky/bamboo. Unlikely I know that anyone here will magically discover some (I've tried eBay) but thought it was worth a punt. My 5yr old will notice if ours suddenly change when she gets them, so buying different ones and putting ours in her stocking wont work.
Worst case I'll order some the same materials and different pattern and just tell her that he couldn't get the same, but thought I'd give it a punt.

Not a bargain but if anyone is looking for an animatronic baby yoda, they still appear to have stock in JD Williams. You can sign up to pay straight away.
Code XMAS6 gives 10% off.

Have seen them being sold for silly amounts online as they have sold out in alot of places.
Thought it might help someone.

SewVeryLazy · 13/12/2020 22:40

@Foggyday124 it was the first one but price must have gone back up now

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/12/2020 23:10

@gettingthereslowly1 the most up to date logo game is version 2, its £20 at the works. Or £23 at argos and smyths. And I've bought for my mum, its a great game that can be enjoyed by most ages.

@myhobbyisouting the poundshop also had the game fluff, I bought it last month when I was in there for my daughter.

lidl has lots of toys in store at the moment and seemed fairly good prices. They had scratch art books for £2.99, the garry potter dolls for £12.99. These were the things I noticed and considered buying. Also they had milk frothers for £19.99 if you missed out on the aldi ones can get even cheaper if you have one of the £10 off vouchers from the sun :)

buckeejit · 13/12/2020 23:10

Thanks for Blokus amazon deal. Bargain at £14.99

Bought for some friends

Freeekedout · 13/12/2020 23:44

Blokus is great price on Amazon according to Camel Camel Camel. Just ordered as an extra gift which I can put away for a birthday. Thanks for sharing 😊

thaegumathteth · 14/12/2020 00:02

I know I said I was finished but I twitched today on the essentials of a money gun, an among us guide and a phone case for dd.

I know you're the ones who'll understand - won't you???

Luckily I'm housebound after an accident (well not luckily but...) so I can't twitch much more as I can't go to RL shops.

Can I also just say that @flutterbean is one of the nicest humans ever who has been so kind and generous and helped with dd's Christmas.

If it's at all any help I have two from that era of cheeky wipes (minky/bamboo backed) or I have a set of 5 leopard prints in a similar style from a wahm in minky top, velour backed?

(We cloth nappy and these are my least faves out of all our huge selection of wipes and are sat at the bottom of my wipe pile!)
