Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Arbelour 12 is very nice, and has that Christmassy quality I mentioned. Arbelour 16 would be a good bet.

I’ll ask my DH for some recommendations, he knows more about it than I do (I just drink it 😉).

Checking in for thread 25!!
I've skipped a few threads as I have been done for quite a while and I'm resisting the twitch.
Already managed to pick something extra up from wonderbly for my Goddaughter. They do wonderful personalised books. DTs got the name book from relatives when they were born and they really are beautiful.
Not sure if it's one off but they gave me code THANKS25 gives 25% off.
There's a few other codes when you go onto the website too.

YouReallyAre · 05/12/2020 14:03

@HollyandIvyandallthingsYule thank you, I appreciate the help.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 05/12/2020 14:10

@YouReallyAre

Can anyone recommend a good, single malt whisky please? I've had a Google but I know nothing about whisky!

These threads are amazing so thank you to everyone that contributes!

just back from Tesco and noticed they had a Jura single malt reduced to £25 with your club card. DH is a total whisky buff snob and has happily drunk this in the past
BeaLola · 05/12/2020 14:21

Whisky Tesco have quite a few with money off

Talisker *& Jura my Dad drinks - he also likes Laphroaig which is also on offer but that is very peaty

White Company have just received my £10 off voucher (&spent it already Blush

MotherofPiggies · 05/12/2020 14:26

@MsMiaWallace

Does anyone have a Lakeland discount code please??
These codes were inside a recent Lakeland delivery. Don’t know if they are generic but you are welcome to give them a try. £5 off £30 or more or £10 off £50 if you are a myLakeland member.

@EvilHerbivore - I saw this light trick thing in Menkind today - I didn't buy it as the shop was rammed and I had a sweaty "moment" and had to walk out.
I'm now looking at their website and wondering if I can get up to £40 for free postage??

@HollyandIvyandallthingsYule - you might be sorted for a petite dressing gown but One Hundred Stars have beautiful kimono's in shorter lengths if not, there might still be a code flying about

MsMiaWallace · 05/12/2020 14:46

Thanks guys for the codes! It worked!!
This thread is the best!!

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 05/12/2020 14:50

@EvilHerbivore

Not strictly Christmas but its my birthday this week and I've let the kids (9&7) on Amazon to buy some something secretly...anyone want to guess what I'll actually end up with?!
I’ll bet a shitting flamingo!

Happy birthday Flowers

Can't believe we finally made it to 25 threads, it's a pandemic miracle!!

Someone was asking for a pic of the Snack Box contents so I quickly snapped one before we demolish it to cure the hangover.

This is the middle box option for £13.99 and I'm already excited to see what comes every month. Wasn't expecting to keep the subscription on but I'm going to!

@TheGriffle oh, they look lovely! Thank you.
@lifelongfrugaleer yes, thank you. That's more the sort of thing I think she wants.

WisestIsShe · 05/12/2020 15:36

@mogtheexcellent (love your username) turtle doves is a lovely idea. Not just because I've been hankering after some wrist warmers for myself. Xmas Grin

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 05/12/2020 15:48

@Chocolateteabag thank you! I love One Hundred Stars (have a few myself) but this really needs to be a warm, cosy dressing gown especially for warmth in the evening.

steph2412 · 05/12/2020 16:00

@TildaTurnip not very but I am awaiting 2 parcels from Royal Mail, both say they have been received by Royal Mail and should have arrived by now but no updates as yet. I read somewhere Royal Mail have delays of 5-7 days

MsMiaWallace · 05/12/2020 16:16

Thanks again for the Lakeland codes.
I used the £10 & I got a Velvetiser with selection of hot chocs etc for £84.99!!

Lovemusic33 · 05/12/2020 16:34

Thanks for the new thread. I’m all done (I think) but still hanging around incase I need to twitch.

Got my Qwertee cyber Monday delivery today, a lot sooner than expected.

TheLastStarfighter · 05/12/2020 17:26

I just used the Hot Chocolate Shaker for the first time and it is everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. I can’t believe what a difference it makes to hot chocolate. Much, much better than the milk frother/heater/velvetiser I had previously. 25% off with code SHAKER. I’ve ordered more for presents.

Was there a code for 20% off Seasalt, or did I imagine it?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 05/12/2020 17:26

@Luxplus I was very excited to see snacks from home!! 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰

I’ve ordered a load from ScandiKitchen this year.😊🎄
