Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I need to hunt for bargain switch games now have ordered the ringfit.

May take an old kindle and old phone to CEX trade in and get a Mario game of some sort.

Luxplus · 05/12/2020 17:48

I still have a code for 15% off at the entertainer, which apparently works on both sale and full price items

CoffeeAndEnnui · 05/12/2020 17:52

Has anyone spotted any Birch Box offers floating about? And are they still a worthwhile subscription to gift? It's for a friend who never spends on herself anymore but loves pretty products, especially Benefit

NaraDeer · 05/12/2020 17:54

What chocolate did you use with it @TheLastStarfighter? I’d like to get it for a family it but unsure if they can use it with normal hot chocolate powder or if it only works with flakes or something.

slithytoveisascientist · 05/12/2020 17:54

Can anyone please recommend any really warm men’s welly socks, ideally not over £15

aimslou · 05/12/2020 18:01

I have a code for the entertainer with 15% off if anybody would like it

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 05/12/2020 18:02

@Luxplus no I'm Scottish, but I love trying stuff from other countries. It's left me constantly listing over mango Fanta that I can't get in the UK!

I loved the orangestang chocolate

Gettingthereslowly1 · 05/12/2020 18:10

Does anyone know where I can buy a perfume gift set, eg Calvin Klein or similar, and have it sent to someone directly but gift wrapped?

Also does anyone have a hotel chocolate code please?

sycamorescrumptious · 05/12/2020 18:18

I've had the most lovely afternoon decorating my very unbargainous tree with my mini IKEA festive goats (bargain thread c2017??) whilst the DC watched their favourite Christmas film - Tom & Jerry's nutcracker, bought on a whim when it was mentioned here a few years ago.

I name change a lot, but have been here for several years and Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without @Reastie 's threads now!

Happy Christmas bargain thread #25 to one and all!

Arghhh I know there has been lots of Turtle Doves chat on recent threads which I didn't pay much attention to, but now I'm in need of some and had a look on the website and they're £26? Have I missed any amazing offers or does anyone have any codes to get them a bit cheaper please?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 05/12/2020 18:26

@GirlWithTheYellowHat Let us know what you think of the Danish liquorice! Xmas Smile

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 05/12/2020 18:28

I much prefer Glossybox - I switched about six months ago.
Prizepudding · 05/12/2020 18:43

Uniqlo, the only offer I am aware of for turtle doves is for new customers, £10 off fingerless gloves. Would also be interested to know if there is any other offers

22Giraffes · 05/12/2020 18:44

Yay for 25! This thread is my happy place Smile

What colour did you want? I bought myself a mystery pair and they're pink and SO not my colour. My BF also gave me a black pair as an early Christmas present not knowing I'd just ordered myself a pair 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was going to return them but shout if you want them, they were only £16

This makes me nervous that ours hasn’t even been received by Royal Mail a whole week after ordering!
CoffeeAndEnnui · 05/12/2020 18:53

@andadietcoke, have you had many Benefit products in your Glossyboxes so far?

I love Scotland, used to live there for some years. Hope you enjoy the goodies and like them Xmas Smile

bettyskitchen · 05/12/2020 19:05

Nipped in to Poundland today and got some Frozen hair accessories which I’m really chuffed with, similar sets are £5 in Claire’s.
Also picked up some tiny hands which I think my brother will appreciate Grin

Asj0405 · 05/12/2020 19:07

Does anyone know of a dune London code?

TheLastStarfighter · 05/12/2020 19:08

@NaraDeer The one I bought comes with a box of chocolate chips, which is what I used today. It’s a drop-down option to get either just the shaker, or shaker plus chocolate - the 25% works on both options so I figured it was an easy way to get bargainous chocolate to try. They come nicely presentation boxed together.

I’m going to try with Cadbury’s hot chocolate tomorrow, so can let you know the verdict if you like. Their video shows it in use with lots of different options. The one I am keen to try is a few segments of chocolate orange!

I know a lot of people have been enjoying Pendragons and M&S’s chocolate flakes too.

It uses about 35g of chocolate per cup.

PinkDaydreams · 05/12/2020 19:16

Both myself and DH weren't that impressed with the m&s hot chocolate flakes, didn't seem to have much flavour :(
