Anyone not put up their tree yet?

Has anyone not put up their tree and decorations yet? We always put up the first weekend in December. I planned to do a big clean of the lounge (which I've been putting off) and we need to get everything down from the loft - the children really wanted o put it up though and now I feel a bit bah humbug seeing all the pictures on facebook of fully decorated trees.

Nope
Ours is being delivered on Sat 12th Smile

dementedpixie · 29/11/2020 22:06

Mine is still up the loft

WisestIsShe · 29/11/2020 22:08

We'll go for ours next weekend. I did put up the outside lights today as they cheer up the days and it is the first Sunday in advent.

Lotsachocolateplease · 29/11/2020 22:08

Not me! It’s still November!

Coldbatteredpuddings · 29/11/2020 22:09

Me! It's my ds birthday in the middle of Dec. He prefers the tree up after his birthday so that his birthday is separate from Christmas. We usually do it after the kids finish school for Christmas.

nancy75 · 29/11/2020 22:10

No, we get a real tree - if we put it up now it will be bare twigs by Xmas!

daisypond · 29/11/2020 22:10

No. It’s November. It normally goes up the weekend before Christmas.

Candycanestripes · 29/11/2020 22:10

We bought ours this weekend and put it up. We would usually wait another week but all the good trees were going at the local garden centre!

HeyMicky · 29/11/2020 22:11

Collect on the 12th and decorate on the 13th. Pretty sure it would die by Xmas if we put it up now

popshops · 29/11/2020 22:11

No, it'll go up at the end of term if it goes up at all.

Feminist10101 · 29/11/2020 22:11

It’s about 4 weeks too soon for me.

rottiemum88 · 29/11/2020 22:12

🙋‍♀️ it's going up on Tuesday night so DS can come down to it up on Wednesday morning

CoronaIsWatching · 29/11/2020 22:12

I'll put it up on Thursday or Friday as I'm off those days with nothing else to do

2gorgeousboys · 29/11/2020 22:14

We are going to get our tree on Saturday and will put it up then. Would normally do it today (first Sunday in advent) but waiting for DS to come home from university on Thursday.

HopeAndDriftWood · 29/11/2020 22:14

Nah... we usually do the second weekend of December but I’m worried that they’ll run out of trees! So we’re debating next weekend. I’m a bit concerned it might not make it to Christmas then, though...

Amerimoon · 29/11/2020 22:15

We have a real tree, put it up every year on the 1st Dec and it always lasts until Christmas Day perfectly (I like mine down after Boxing Day though). Ours will be going up on Tuesday!

LoudBatPerson · 29/11/2020 22:15

Nope. Ours might go up next weekend but more than likely the weekend after.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 29/11/2020 22:15

No tree here yet.

Christmas bedding on the 1st.

Most decorations up on the 11th.

Real tree up no the 18th, and that feels a little early to me. My parents used to put the tree up on the 23rd or 24th.

Merename · 29/11/2020 22:15

No, but only because we are moving house on Friday, otherwise would have been on it this weekend.

Figgygal · 29/11/2020 22:15

Us
Can’t buy into this throwing it up in November some even in October
I love Christmas at Christmas we will put it up next weekend

marypoppinsreturns · 29/11/2020 22:16

Ds birthday 2 weeks before Christmas so will do it once he's off to school that day so all done for him coming home.

LindaEllen · 29/11/2020 22:16

We're not even putting one up, much to the dismay of my mum.
DSS is at his mum's for the Christmas holidays this year, the house was supposed to be decorated (so we got rid of the tree that fits in this living room, we will be having a different tree due to the different layout when it's done, but due to covid it didn't get done so we're between trees, and we've decided given our current financial situation it'd be stupid to buy one just for the sake of things this year.

Perhaps that makes me miserable but to be honest I think sitting in a decorated house away from my family would make me feel worse than no decs at all, so there we go.

BestOption · 29/11/2020 22:17

No. I had planned to, but I live alone and just couldn't face getting everything out the loft today. Must get onto it though as it's the same amount of effort whenever I do it & I love it all up, so might as well enjoy it for as long as possible.

wowfudge · 29/11/2020 22:17

We're getting ours from the farm on 12th.

ComDummings · 29/11/2020 22:17

I haven’t yet, normally do it the first weekend in December too. I might do it midweek though as I’ve seen so many social media posts of beautiful trees and decorations and I’ve been sucked in and want my own up now Grin
