Anyone not put up their tree yet?

Has anyone not put up their tree and decorations yet? We always put up the first weekend in December. I planned to do a big clean of the lounge (which I've been putting off) and we need to get everything down from the loft - the children really wanted o put it up though and now I feel a bit bah humbug seeing all the pictures on facebook of fully decorated trees.

Won't do ours until next weekend!

insancerre · 30/11/2020 07:16

No, it’s still November

Oblomov20 · 30/11/2020 07:18

Still in the loft. I just hate going up into the loft to get all the decorations down. It's such a faff.

Sertchgi123 · 30/11/2020 07:19

Nope

Iseeyoulookingatme · 30/11/2020 07:21

We haven't but only cause we moved on Thursday and I'm still unpacking. We need to go and get a tree next weekend as our old one will look tiny in our new house. I've got no energy for Christmas decorating at the moment.

megletthesecond · 30/11/2020 07:21

Nothing here. Real living tree in a pot will come in on the 12th.

This year has been dull enough without dragging out Xmas too.

megletthesecond · 30/11/2020 07:22

Oh, I am putting on the dc's Xmas duvets today. I'm not a complete monster.

LJC1234 · 30/11/2020 07:24

Nope no tree yet but only because we are getting new carpet next weekend! The minute that arrives it's going up 😀

KyraGoose · 30/11/2020 07:27

Me. Next weekend, first weekend of December.

julesover40 · 30/11/2020 07:29

Not here either. DP is collecting our real tree on tuesday and that will be In water in the garden until we decorate this sat/sun. We always do the decs and tree first weekend in Dec

toycat · 30/11/2020 07:41

We need to do some repair work first on our living tree outside as it looks a bit barren Confused It's on its third year in a big pot

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 30/11/2020 07:51

No, our real tree won’t go up until mid December. I’ve put it up a bit earlier before when guests were coming to stay, but never before about the 7th.
Smaller potted one will go outside the front door on the 1st though.
But I like seeing other people’s trees in their windows earlier.

happymummy12345 · 30/11/2020 07:55

We haven't. I'm superstitious so ours never goes up until the first weekend of December and comes down the 6th January

loveislouderthanwar · 30/11/2020 07:57

We are going to pick ours at the weekend. I'll start putting lights up during the week and all the little touches.
It's been chaotic here for weeks with work being done so wanted to wait as long as possible.

lollipoprainbow · 30/11/2020 07:58

Not yet ! I'm hoping for one to be delivered on Saturday 12th December.

Pascha · 30/11/2020 08:00

Will be first week of December as always.

squishedlemons · 30/11/2020 08:02

Not yet. We got a kitten this year and she's managed to get on top of my wardrobe, which is where we keep the decorations and she is slowly knocking them all down so I'm waiting till she's got them all down😂

StCharlotte · 30/11/2020 08:02

@soddingkitten

Not yet. We have a bonkers 8 mo kitten who will spend the next month swinging from it and, in all likelihood, toppling it daily. The kids keep asking and I keep putting them off, but next weekend is the furthest I can reasonably push it. I’m not looking forwards to it this year. Kitten has only just stopped climbing the blinds and curtains. 🙄
You and me both. In fact we're not even risking a proper tree at all. We're having a hanging thing in the window. Which they'll probably use as a rope ladder.
Anyone not put up their tree yet?
SherryPalmer · 30/11/2020 08:19

We got our tree this weekend. We usually get one at the beginning of December and it’s always lasted until after new year.

I’m enjoying the pearl-clutching and competitive late-decorating on this thread though Grin

Twobrews · 30/11/2020 08:19

No. I'll get a few bits and bobs out with the elves and the advent calendars but otherwise it'll probably be the 12th.

firstimemamma · 30/11/2020 08:24

Ours is going up on the 6th

DreadingSeason2020sFinale · 30/11/2020 08:37

My lounge is clean and we have decorated (with wallpaper and paint finally after almost 5 years of HATING it and refusing to look at my wall) so it's all ready for decorating for Christmas.

We have a real tree ordered, far more than I would normally spend but with my newly decorated living room, that shit is gonna look like a magazine spread! I can't wait.

yesyoudoknowme · 30/11/2020 08:44

@LindaEllen

We're not even putting one up, much to the dismay of my mum. DSS is at his mum's for the Christmas holidays this year, the house was supposed to be decorated (so we got rid of the tree that fits in this living room, we will be having a different tree due to the different layout when it's done, but due to covid it didn't get done so we're between trees, and we've decided given our current financial situation it'd be stupid to buy one just for the sake of things this year.

Perhaps that makes me miserable but to be honest I think sitting in a decorated house away from my family would make me feel worse than no decs at all, so there we go.

Thank goodness - we're not either! Kids grown up and tbh I can't be arsed as it's always me that puts it up and takes it down and I have better things to do with my time, and I hate the way the house looks after they've been taken down - all bare and dismal. I'll stick to bare and dismal all year round Grin
stargirl1701 · 30/11/2020 08:44

No. It's still November. Celebrating St Andrew's Day today and will begin to observe Advent tomorrow.

prettybird · 30/11/2020 08:48

We can't get our Christmas tree until the 12th as a minimum as we're currently in Level 4 and can't travel to where we traditionally get ours (which is just the next Local Authority). Happy to wait though as the trees are wonderfully fresh, as well as being great value.
