Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Just posting to say 1) thank you for these threads, am an avid reader of them, and 2) does anyone think/know if Nintendo Switch consoles will be generally back in stock before Christmas??

Whydidimarryhim · 02/12/2020 19:04

Mwestie - are you signed up to stock informer?

CatsLikeBoxes · 02/12/2020 19:07

@handmademitlove
M&S do a lovely smelling reed diffuser, it's mandarin, clove and cinnamon. Not as expensive as white company, though not as much of a bargain as Home Bargains. I bought it last year and wished they sold it all year round.

Riverhouse · 02/12/2020 19:40

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks I got the same email from Currys, I'd ordered Google minis. Phoned and they said they'd ran out of stock but it was in now and it should arrive by the end of the week

Riverhouse · 02/12/2020 19:44

Oh no! I just read through the rest of the thread and see others were having problems with Currys. I hope they come, they're the only thing my kids really asked for

Annie1290 · 02/12/2020 19:58

Can't believe I didn't realise ipads would go out of stock 😩😩 my grans has just broken and the only time I will see her to set up a new one is Xmas. It's her only way of seeing grandchildren and great grandchildren far away.
Anyone help?!

I have a 20% code for Matalan if anyone needs it.

lexloofah · 02/12/2020 20:00

@JaneyJimplin Rymans do gaming chairs, not normally somewhere I would look for that kind of thing

SpamIAm · 02/12/2020 20:10

My bargain Winston book arrived today, was not expecting it to be so huge! Thanks to the PP who posted that :) my DD isn't quite as excited about it as her chocolate advent calendar but I think it'll be a lovely tradition to bring out every year.

LutherRalph1 · 02/12/2020 20:16

Can anybody recommend somewhere to look for v.v. Bargainous boxes candles

Thanks

AndddddHerewegoagain · 02/12/2020 20:17

Yes please @Annie1290

Puffalicious · 02/12/2020 20:17

Not particularly bargainous, but Christmas never starts until I get my delivery from St Eval candles. Their Bay and Rosemary is the scent of Christmas for us and it's our little advent treats to ourselves to order half a dozen. My box arrived today- Christmas has officially started! www.st-eval.com/collections/bay-rosemarybestcandleever

buckeejit · 02/12/2020 20:21

@WineandDine I'd recommend a rechargeable handwarmer - I got one on amazon recently & it's fab.

Cashmere wrist warmers good or if you can find some old school sheepskin mittens - they are great!

Daisy829 · 02/12/2020 20:22

If anybody wants some craft beers I’ve been sent this offer which I’ve used but seems to be available to anyone

Beer52.com/aw24
Case of 8 craft beers, snack and magazine for £5.95 you do have to subscribe so make sure you cancel your subscription upon receipt or your item.

hotchocdrinker · 02/12/2020 20:23

@Puffalicious I'm the same! But my go to St Eval Christmas scents are orange and cinnamon, and winter thyme. The smell divine!

Trumpton · 02/12/2020 20:27

@WineandDine.
Silk glove liners from Patra are brilliant . Leather gloves are well worth it . I also have a rechargeable hand warmer but that only does one hand at a time !
I find the trick is never, ever let your hands get cold , keep them a steady temperature as it’s much more difficult to warm them once cold .

InTropicalTrumpsLand · 02/12/2020 20:29

@Jedstre This one seems to be in stock?

Puffalicious · 02/12/2020 20:29

hotchocdrinker I had a winter rhyme one last year and it was lovely too. I'm sitting here and feel so content- amazing what a candle can do. A small business with minimal, recycled, recyclable packaging and my dad comes from the area- so a little bit of Cornwall in wind-swept Scotland tonight.

TheSilentStars · 02/12/2020 20:30

I bought some St Eval candles....they were lovely.....then DD started saying she had black snot coming out of her nose Confused We said "don't be daft" and then she showed us the tissues...slightly hysterical me rings the GP after Google tells me it could be Bad Things Indeed.

Soot. From the candle. And we discovered a layer of black soot on the table where the candle was standing.

I've contacted St Eval and they want to know batch numbers and for me to send the candle back (along with the other three I bought)

Really disappointed as it smelled fab and I bought it because on a thread here it was said Yankee etc are full of evil toxins! They don't fill your brains with soot though!

In other news my Elemis parcel arrived- and the GWP freebie for being one of the first hundred was there- (it seemed so good to be true I thought it would be cancelled) So for £18 delivered I have a full size rose cream cleanser, 30ml of Marine Cream and 15ml of marine facial oil, a toiletry bag and about 4 samples of bits and bobs.

BalaamsAss · 02/12/2020 20:32

Good taste @Puffalicious and @hotchocdrinker! My favourite St Eval scent is the Dewberry and Bramble. I buy them in bulk from my lovely local gift shop and burn them all year round. I just go online and see if she can reserve some of the Rosemary and Bay ones for me, although I have a Paddywax Charles Dickens candle which I have been saving all year for Christmas!

lolarabbit · 02/12/2020 20:34

@duckduckswan are these paw print gloves any good for SIL? Added brownie points for coming from a doggie charity maybe?

IggyAce · 02/12/2020 20:36

I’m sure one or two were wanting five nights at Freddie’s things [[https://www.poundtoy.com/collections/cyber-monday-toy-deals?utm_campaign=Cyber%20Monday%20LAUNCH%20%28new%29%20%2812%20Days%20Engaged%29%20%28campaign%29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Klaviyo&_ke=eyJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJyZWJlY2NhQHBhdWxtdXJyYXlwaG90b2dyYXBoeS5jby51ayIsICJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIlBkcndVbSJ9 Poundtoy) have several soft toys down to £8 or £10 if you use code cyber40 another 40% will be taken off the price.

lotusbell · 02/12/2020 20:38

@Puffalicious, not lit mine yet, lots of others to get through first but on first sniff it reminds me of Badedas bath gel! The Winter Thyme one is also lovely.

lotusbell · 02/12/2020 20:45

Hoping not to have a problem with Currys! The Ps4 live voucher I bought from them arrived the other day no problem but the Echo Dot I ordered prior to it still hasn't arrived. It's with Royal Mail but no further info on the tracking, that hasn't changed since Wednesday 25th. Hoping it's just delayed due to volume of mail and I don't have to chase a refund. It's gone back up to over £30 now.

JaneyJimplin · 02/12/2020 21:02

@Annie1290 I ordered an ipad today from Costco
