Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@1stMrsF I bought a similar one for my brother a few years ago from TK Maxx which was a Jamie Oliver one. They usually have lots of aprons in at this time!

@Fred56 the thing my now 7 month old loved playing with at that time was a emergency foil blanket - so shiny and crinkly! We would lie her on it, or drape it over the bars hanging over her play mat. There are lots of baby sensory basket gifts on Etsy & Not on the High Street you could look at. Like this

LikeSilentRaindrops · 02/12/2020 01:59

@1stMrsF I have one from IKEA that does what I think you mean - like this

I got a funkier design on eBay than there seems to be in IKEA at the mo - how about this?

kulaexchange · 02/12/2020 04:19

@sorryiasked

Done really good reductions on the [[https://www.skagen.com/en-gb/men/watches?gclsrc=aw.ds&p=2 skagen]] watches I've just bought DH a watch which was £159 on the search page, dropped to £127 on the item page and then down to £76 at checkout! There is a code BLACK70 - it didn't work on my order, but I was happy enough!
Thank you!!! Middle of the night purchase for my DH!!! He's been looking at skagen watches for years.

The reduced playmobil farm advent calendar is available again, in stock on December 10th so maybe one for next year

Does anyone know of any bargainous adult women's pj's? I've decided I'd like some this year in our Christmas eve box. I've got DD and DS their own (not matching) and as I new tradition thought I'd get myself some. 😊

Beauty Pie are due to launch one in the next few days. £20 I think but that's members' prices.
SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 02/12/2020 07:07

I’m having a look on Debenhams and can’t see any massive 70% clearance. Am I missing something?

margaritasbythesea · 02/12/2020 07:14

dizzygirl. I am drawing a total bkank on ojs for myself this year but tge nicest cheaper ones I have seen were at Tu for about £12.

I too have a drawstring apron from Ikea. Quite fancy a new one!

JaneyJimplin · 02/12/2020 07:15

@Fred56 Sophie le giraffe?

runningpink · 02/12/2020 07:30

@Fred56

A bath toy
A keepsake Christmas Decoration
Books...some proper books with a story not picture books as I’m sure they will have loads of those

Avoca76 · 02/12/2020 07:36

So I’ve just got my secret Santa name at work. It is a new starter who is only 19. She has been great and would like to get something nice but don’t know her very well and budget only £5. Any ideas?

XmasLockdown · 02/12/2020 07:47

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks It's up to 70% off sale.

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 02/12/2020 07:55

@XmasLockdown I realise that, but it’s the same sale they’ve been running anyway, even though the press reported it would start at 7am!

Runforwine · 02/12/2020 07:57

Avoca76
My sister is the same age she asked for a silk pillowcase and eye mask. I got her one off boohoo, if you use the code Delivery, it's free next day(code stops tonight at 10). I paid £6, so it's a pound over but they have £4 ones without the mask

Gooseysgirl · 02/12/2020 08:32

There are no new discounts on Debenhams other than what was already there 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lovemusic33 · 02/12/2020 08:41

I think the discounts are only going to be in store? It’s pretty rare a shop will do a online sale when gone into liquidation? I saw on the news this morning that there will be big sales in store possibly from today.
CordeliaScott · 02/12/2020 09:18

20% off at gltc.co.uk with code ADVENT

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 02/12/2020 09:23

5OFF25 takes £5 off a £25 spend at the entertainer for those still buying toys

LetsPlayBamboozled · 02/12/2020 09:53

Argos has some nice things in the clearance section for younger ones. Lots of Melissa and Doug Argos clearance

Can anyone help with some knowledge? Do Argos or Smyths reduce things close to Christmas or have bigger January sales (on toys)? DD wants a karaoke thing we really can't afford unless it is reduced. Thank you

Yeknom · 02/12/2020 09:54

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm in a Debenhams store and there's no amazing bargains (ie don't bother with a trip unless you specifically need something x)

TheCrow · 02/12/2020 10:29

Got a dispatch email for my Aldi dupe velvetiser today

SparklingLime · 02/12/2020 10:34

Thank you @Trumpton (😂) and others re silk pillowcases.

Looking4wards · 02/12/2020 10:38

@Yeknom thank you. I was thinking about seeing if I could go tomorrow as their website isn't working for me, but I don't think I will bother. I image there's quite a lot of people in store?

SparklingDinosaurs · 02/12/2020 11:05

Lidl has another batch of toys for their specials tomorrow. Lots of peppa pig, paw patrol, frozen and then various games, books and more. Haven’t compared any prices but a Lidl normally okay.

Any tips on aquabeads v Hama bead? Both in terms of ease of use/mess and the end result being nice.

Any ideas of a sharpie type pen that is very low odour? DS is really into the YouTube drawing lessons which seem to all use thick black pens for outlines and is always asking to use my black Sharpie however I feel it’s very strong smelling (and I’m also worried he’ll mark all my table and carpets!!)

I think with Debenhams the administrators have a duty to obtain as much cash for stock as possible to pay off creditors employees etc. I’m sure when Mothercare ceased the discounts were really minimal (10% or so) at first with the really big reduction only coming after several weeks. Debenhams might go same way so big reductions just before or after Christmas. Just make sure any vouchers are used ASAP - my mum used hers up last week when news circulating whereas she’s normal have kept and spend throughout 2021 as she didn’t need anything right now really. I feel sorry for the staff and all the uncertainty they are facing too Sad
